Her most famous part was probably as young Mary Todd in Young Mr. Lincoln. (Mrs Lincoln's sanity is often questioned.) But she had roles in several films revolving around death---three with Murder in the title, one with Die, one with Mystery, one with Detective, one with Shooting, and one with Suspicion, plus others. Rather strange coincidence---or not.PDXWizhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10884427889989897626noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9409160.post-4326652553368132652019-10-26T17:25:28.635-04:002019-10-26T17:25:28.635-04:00It may also be to the point that the anti-Semitic ...It may also be to the point that the anti-Semitic conspiracy theories of the 19th century started out as anti-Masonic conspiracy theories following the French Revoluion. The Wikipedia entry on Judeo-Masonic Conspiracy Theory states, "According to Danny Keren (a member of the Department of Computer Science at Haifa University), the 'conceptual inspiration' of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion was the 1797 treatise, Memoirs Illustrating the History of Jacobinism by the French priest Augustin Barruel, which claimed the Revolution was a Masonic-led conspiracy with the aim of overthrowing the moral teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. According to Keren, 'in his treatise, Barruel did not himself blame the Jews, who were emancipated as a result of the Revolution. However, in 1806, Barruel circulated a forged letter, probably sent to him by members of the state police opposed to Napoleon Bonaparte's liberal policy toward the Jews, calling attention to the alleged part of the Jews in the conspiracy he had earlier attributed to the Masons. This myth of an international Jewish conspiracy reappeared later on in 19th century Europe in places such as Germany and Poland.'"

And that reminds me of the latter-day conspiracy theorist and intellectual descendant of Barruel who recently declaimed, "I will not dwell on all the bitter results of the new secular age. Suffice it to say that the campaign to destroy the traditional moral order has brought with it immense suffering, wreckage, and misery. And yet, the forces of secularism, ignoring these tragic results, press on with even greater militancy."

I don't know if we can expect to see any incidents of anti-Masonic/anti-Semitic terrorism tomorrow. But he kind of craziness that fosters them is more widespread at the moment than at any recent time.Cory Panshinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04689225527768869110noreply@blogger.com
