The Twilight Language of the San Bernardino Event

Chicago, Illinois, July 27, 2014.

A Facebook executive told The Associated Press that Tashfeen Malik posted the material [her pledge of allegiance to ISIS] under an alias account at 11 a.m. Wednesday. That was about the time the first 911 calls came in and when the couple were believed to have stormed into the San Bernardino social service center and opened fire.
The executive spoke on condition of anonymity because this person was not allowed under corporate policy to be quoted by name.
The company discovered the Facebook account Thursday. It removed the profile from public view and reported its contents to law enforcement.

Was there a Manchurian Candidate situation in play on December 2nd? Look at the above photo.

I wrote about the Manchurian Candidate Sirhan Bishara Sirhan (probable preprogrammed RFK assassin) in the Steamshovel Press, on June 6, 2002.

In that 2002 essay, I mention how the mainstream media demonstrates an easy acceptance of the "lone nut" and other psychological explanations when a deeper involvement between individuals may be occurring. I call for more "connecting the dots." As noted, Europe laughed at America when JFK was assassinated because few would investigate the multiple person involvement in the planning of that killing.

I share this:
When in America will we understand that to employ the word "conspiracy" in context is not a sin, but actually might be a survival technique we need to learn? It might actually be of benefit if the general public did not whole-heartedly take everything in from the media without a bit more critical thinking along lines of analysis that may be seen as too alternative, in former years.
The San Bernardino shootings will be analyzed by humans for years.

With all due respect to the victims, their families, and friends, let's look at some of the initial thoughts, via the twilight language, behind a few of the names and places issuing from this incident.

The victims:

Clockwise from upper left; Tin Nguyen, Robert Adams, Sierra Clayborn, Daniel Kaufman, Yvette Velasco and Mike Wetzel.

The youngest victim of the massacre:

- Aurora Godoy, 26, San Jacinto

Aurora Godoy = dawn of the gods = Götterdämmerung = Ragnarök.

Looking at the Aurora, Colorado, shootings, it became obvious that the "red dawn" expressed in that incident was worthy of some thought. Here, coming from assassins in Redlands, by "coincidence," an unfortunate victim, Aurora, was picked. And another Aurora shows up in the descriptions.

Harry "Hal" Bowman, 46, was a Ph. D. from Pennsylvania, a statistical analyst for healthy communities for the County Department of Public Health, and one of the earliest contributors to CREATE, a USC center that studies national security and terrorism. Bowman was a father of two daughters, ages 11 and 15, family member Bill Kraft of Aurora, Illinois, told the Los Angeles Times.

Juan Espinoza = thorny warrior = Thor.

Espinoza came to the U.S. from Mexico when he was in his 20s and graduated from California State University, San Bernardino campus. "He was an honest, fair and hardworking man," daughter, 25-year-old Jerusalem Espinoza told New York Daily News.

Michael Wetzel

Wetzel is a rare name that I wrote about in the 1970s, which appears to surface in unusual situations. Wetzel is a Germanic name derived from warn, "guard," combined with hair, "army."

The shooters:

Farooq (also transliterated as Farouk, Farook, Faruk, Faroeq, Faruq, or Farouq; Arabic: فاروق, Fārūq ) is a common Arabic given and family name derived from an honorific of Umar, an early Muslim leader. Al-Farooq literally means, "the one who distinguishes between right and wrong." Sent in by RS.
Sayyid (also spelled "Seyd", "Syed", "Sayed", "Sayyed", "Saiyid", "Seyed" and "Seyyed") (pronounced [ˈsæjjɪd], or [ˈsæjjed], Arabic: سيد; meaning Mister) (plural Sadah Arabic: سادة, Sāda(h)) is an honorific title denoting males accepted as descendants of the Islamic prophet Muhammad through his grandsons, Hasan ibn Ali and Husayn ibn Ali, sons of Muhammad's daughter Fatimah and his son-in-law Ali (Ali ibn Abi Talib). Conventionally, descent is patrilineal. However, in 1632 when an Ottoman court challenged a man wearing a sayyid's green turban he established that he was a sayyid on his mother's side, and this was accepted by the court.
Daughters of sayyids are given the titles Sayyida, Alawiyah, or Sharifa. In some regions of the Islamic world, e.g., India, the descendants of Muhammad are given the title Amir or Mir, meaning "commander", "general", or "prince".
In the Arab world, it is the equivalent of the English word "liege lord" or "master" when referring to a descendant of Muhammad, as in Sayyid Ali Sultan. This is the reason the word sidi (from the contracted form sayyidī, 'my liege') is used in the Arabic. Source
Malik is also one of the Names of God in the Qur'an, and is then al-Malik(الملك) or The King, Lord of the Worlds in the absolute sense (denoted by the definite article), meaning the King of Kings, above all earthly rulers. Hence, Abdelmelik ("servant of [Allah] the King ") is an Arabic male name. Source
Tashfeen means affectionate, considerate, sympathetic, and kind. Source.

The locations:

Redlands translates, of course, into "land that is red."
In the 1880s, the arrival of the Southern Pacific and Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroads, connecting Southern California to San Francisco and Salt Lake triggered a land boom, with speculators such as John W. North flooding the area now known as the Inland Empire. North and others saw the area, with its hot, dry climate and ready access to water as an ideal center for citrus production. The city of Redlands was soon established by Frank E. Brown, a civil engineer, and E. G. Judson, a New York stock broker, to provide a center (along with North's nearby settlement at Riverside) for the burgeoning citrus industry. They named their city “Redlands” after the color of the adobe soil.~ Wikipedia

San Bernardino
The name of San Bernardino is for Saint Bernardino of Siena, O.F.M. (also known as Bernardine; 8 September 1380 – 20 May 1444) was an Italian priest, Franciscan missionary, and is a Catholic saint. He is known in the Roman Catholic Church as “the Apostle of Italy” for his efforts to revive the country's Catholic faith during the 15th century. His preaching was frequently directed against gambling, witchcraft, sodomy and usury - particularly as practiced by Jews. ~ Wikipedia
The jargon

The wall-to-wall coverage of the San Bernardino shootings revealed the heavy use by the media and the news consultants shown on the news networks of a fully developed overt language being employed.

"Active shooters"

"Active killer" or "active shooter" names a type of mass murder marked by rapidity, scale, randomness and often suicide as well. The phenomenon is exemplified by the 1999 Columbine High School massacre, the 2007 Virginia Tech shooting, the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, the 2014 shootings at Parliament Hill, Ottawa, the 2015 Umpqua Community College shooting, and many others. ~ Wikipedia

"Actors"
Hardly a conspiracy or evidence of anything. This is cop-speak, and it has been evolving rapidly with pseudo-military, pseudo-war-game jargon. Just like "active shooter," the use of "actor" in the "theater of war," or during a "school shooting," or via any number of "scenarios" of confrontations has been in use for a few years. It is not evidence of a "false flag," but of the militarization of local police actions.

"Fluid"

Overused by the media to describe an event they do not understand yet.

Update/December 10, 2015: The San Bernardino event occurred on December 2, 2015. According to the traditional behavioral contagion/copycat timetable, watch the window of December 16, 2015, for more trouble. In addition, on December 18th, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is a worldwide premiere that delivers too large of a publicity opportunity for a terrorist organization or individuals to ignore. Be alert. San Bernardino Shooting: Updated

See also The Twilight Language of the San Bernardino Event, for more on jargon and the name game.

The two suspects killed in a gunfight with police after a mass shooting in San Bernardino were Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik, said San Bernardino Police Chief Jarrod Burguan.

Burguan said police are now "pretty comfortable" that Farook and Malik were the only shooters involved in the massacre that left at least 14 people dead at the Inland Regional Center. Police earlier suggested there were three shooters.

Farook, 28, and Malik, 27, were husband and wife.

Was it just "workplace violence," as seems to be part of the scenario now?

Farook, an American citizen, was an environmental health specialist with the San Bernardino County health department, which was hosting the holiday party at Inland Regional.

He had worked there for five years.

In an online profile, he described himself as a "22-year-old Muslim Male living in USA/California/riverside. Religious but modern family of 4, with 2 girls and 2 boys."
He "enjoys working on vintage and modern cars, reads religious books, enjoys eating out sometimes. Enjoys travelling and just hanging out in the back yard doing target practice with his younger sister and friends," his profile read.
Farook's brother-in-law Farhan Khan was crushed at the news.
"I have no idea why he would he do something like this. I have absolutely no idea. I am in shock myself," Khan said. "I don't have words to express how sad and how devastated I am." Source.

BTW, there was another multiple shooting on December 2, 2015, which happened before the San Bernardino event.
A gunman in Savannah, Ga., shot four people early Wednesday, killing a woman and injuring three men. Around 1:30 a.m. shots were fired in the 100 block of West 33rd Street near Barnard Street. One victim went to a nearby fire stations for help. Police found the other three other victims on West 33rd. Three men were taken to the hospital in stable condition. The fourth victim, a woman, died. Source.

Reportedly, the SUV has Utah plates.

The San Bernardino Fire Department is responding to accounts of multiple (20+) victims in a San Bernardino shooting, where allegedly several shooters were being reported started around 11 a.m. Someone pulled a fire alarm. Then the shooting began. Some eyewitnesses said a county officials event was occurring, in a conference hall (with a banquet?), and the gunmen entered the conference event and shot individuals attending.

Nearby practicing SWAT teams answered the reports immediately, and some of them (one with a Masonic ball cap) were interviewed by media.

There were one to three suspects, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department tweeted, citing the police department. Eyewitnesses described three gunmen who were wearing masks with body armor, carrying long guns, who entered shooting and left in a SUV.

News sources are reporting 14 dead, and 17 injured.

Reports that a Planned Parenthood is "around the corner" is incorrect. The nearest Planned Parenthood is a few blocks away, and personnel there report they were not involved in this shooting.

The shooting occurred at the Inland Regional Center,1365 S Waterman Ave, San Bernardino, CA 92408, a facility for people with developmental disabilities. Nearly 670 staff work at its facilities in San Bernardino and Riverside counties, providing services to more than 30,200 people.

It aims to "work on a personal, one-on-one basis with people with developmental disabilities to make their lives better as they define it."

The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department tweeted that the "active shooter [was] in the area of Orange Show Rd/Waterman Ave near Park center."

The motive behind the shootings and the way this was handled in the media may be discussed for days.

Redlands.

The city of Redlands appears to be the hometown of the two shooters. Redlands is a city in San Bernardino County, California, United States, with a 2010 population of 68,747. Redlands is ten miles east of downtown San Bernardino.

Why Inland and Redlands? In the 1880s, the arrival of the Southern Pacific and Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroads, connecting Southern California to San Francisco and Salt Lake triggered a land boom, with speculators such as John W. North flooding the area now known as the Inland Empire. North and others saw the area, with its hot, dry climate and ready access to water as an ideal center for citrus production. The park incorporates Egyptian themes, and includes a Go-Cart raceway, miniature golf, bumper cars, an amphitheater, and a water park. The park has been used in television filming, including a 2006 episode of C.S.I. Las Vegas featuring a rollercoaster accident.

The Rocketeer, in the Disney movie version, has the heroine, Jenny, hailing from Redlands.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the town in Tamara Thorne's horror novel Bad Things is based on Redlands.

Notable people from Redlands includes Joan Baez (folk singer/songwriter), Harry Blackstone, Jr. (magician), Hugh “Lumpy” Brannum (Mr. Green Jeans on Captain Kangaroo), and The Tornadoes (a surf rock  band featured on Pulp Fiction soundtrack).

San Bernardino.

The city of San Bernardino, California, occupies much of the San Bernardino Valley, which indigenous tribespeople originally referred to as "The Valley of the Cupped Hand of God".

Route 66 runs through the area. Indeed, San Bernardino hosts several major annual events, including: Route 66 Rendezvous, a four-day celebration of America's "Mother Road" that is held in downtown San Bernardino each September. One nickname for the city is The Heartbeat of U.S. Route 66.

One official nickname is Gate City, to reflect its proximity to Los Angeles, and location at the southern and western end of the Cajon Pass, leading to the High Desert and Las Vegas, Nevada.

The name of San Bernardino is for Saint Bernardino of Siena, O.F.M. (also known as Bernardine; 8 September 1380 – 20 May 1444) was an Italian priest, Franciscan missionary, and is a Catholic saint. Black Friday's Colorado Springs Incident: Three Dead

The Prediction

The breaking news today, happening in Colorado Springs, was predicted. I forecast this on Wednesday, noting this was possible on Black Friday.

On Wednesday, November 24, 2015, in "Predicting Terror: Thanksgiving & Black Friday,” I wrote:

I think the "copycat" calendar cannot be ignored. The Paris Terror Attacks occurred on Friday the 13th, exactly two weeks ago from Black Friday, November 27th. The copycat effect has an internal clock that often works on two week, one month, and one year anniversary cycles. Therefore, while organized terrorists might not do anything on this coming Friday, it actually is the lone player, triggered or inspired by the Paris events, who would.

The Incident

On November 27, 2015 - this year's Black Friday - at 11:38 a.m. (Mountain Time; 1:38 pm Eastern), the first “shots fired” call came in to the police of Colorado Spring, Colorado. An active shooter was reported at the Planned Parenthood building, 3480 Centennial Boulevard. Colorado Springs police, El Paso County Sheriff's Office and Colorado State Patrol officers responded to the scene.

At 2:17 p.m., Colorado Springs police tweeted that "officers are encountering gunfire" and the scene is still an active shooting.

The gunman engaged with police officers, exchanging gunfire, injuring five law enforcement personnel. Nine individuals have been taken to local hospitals; six to Penrose and three to Memorial. A dispatcher said one patient was wounded at Elite Vision, located an adjacent building at 3470 Centennial Blvd.

The area is near a shooting center, a bank, a grocery store, and other businesses. Colorado Springs Police report that Centennial Boulevard is closed in both directions between Garden of the Gods Road and Fillmore Street. Police closed Centennial Boulevard in both directions and customers were locked down at a King Soopers grocery store and several nearby shops at Fillmore Street and Centennial Boulevard.

The city, in the central part of the Colorado, has more than 400,000 residents.

"Colorado Springs is situated near the base of one of the most famous American mountains, Pikes Peak.” ~ Wikipedia.

Readers of this blog already know that Pikes Peak is very special. See here, from 2011.

At 4:00 pm Mountain, police reported the shooter was still active, and that all roads around the scene continue to be closed. One report said the suspect had a “high-powered rifle.” Police said the suspect may have also brought "devices," including propane tanks, to the clinic.

The Victims

One victim has been identified. His name is Garrett Swasey, 44, a member of the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs Police Department, Colorado, for six years. He is married to Rachel, and the father of two small children. Swasey was killed when he responded to help other officers under fire.

Swasey was a junior national couples ice dancing champion in 1992.

Swasey won the junior national championship in Orlando, Florida., in 1992, with partner Christine Fowler of Baltimore. Fowler and Swasey, in third after the compulsory phase of the competition, took the title by winning the original and free dance programs, according to a Baltimore Sun article.

Three years later, Swasey and ice dancing partner Hillary Tompkins competed in the 1995 U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Providence, Rhode Island. The Denver-based ice dancing couple placed 13th at the championships and later performed on Musical on Ice shows at the Forum in Presque Isle, Maine, according to the Denver Post.

Swasey was also a volunteer in his community, the co-pastor at Hope Chapel in Colorado Springs for seven years.

Two others, civilians, were confronted and killed, one apparently at the entrance to the Planned Parenthood building. They have not been identified yet.

The Suspect

In initial reports, the suspect was described as a white man in his 40s wearing a long coat and a hunting hat.

The suspect surrendered to police at about 5:00 pm, Mountain Time.

Overnight, the gunman was identified as Robert Lewis Dear. He is shown above, a bearded Caucasian male, being taken into custody on November 27, 2015, outside the Planned Parenthood Clinic in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Reportedly, Dear lives in is from Hartsel, Colorado. Hartsel is officially seven miles east of South Park. South Park (1997 - Present) is an American adult animated sitcom created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone for the Comedy Central television network, situated in and around the same named Colorado town. The real South Park existed before the television series.

Dear’s age has been reported to as both 57 and 59, but public records indicate that he is 57. His family is from South Carolina.
According to court records, Dear has an arrest record in both North and South Carolina. He has been convicted of several traffic offenses, but has been arrested several times on more serious charges.
His convictions include seat belt violations, driver’s license violations, operating a vehicle in an unsafe mechanical condition and driving a non-registered vehicle.
Dear was charged in Colleton, South Carolina, with two counts of cruelty to animals in 2002, but was found not guilty in a bench trial.
He was also charged in 2002 in Colleton with charges of “peeping Tom” and eavesdropping. Those charges were dismissed. Source.

The name Robert is a Germanic given name, from Old High German Hrodebert "bright with glory" (a compound of hruod "fame, glory" and berht "bright").

The name Lewis imports meaning in Freemasonry to designate the son of a Mason. Within Freemasonry, Lewis is a significant name. The Normans brought the name to England, where it was usually spelled Lewis, though the spelling is sometimes Louis in America.

Lewis is routinely said to mean "renowned warrior." In Freemasonry, the origins developed from the use of the "lewis," a device to lift stones to their required height and set them in place precisely. Source.

Dear is an early English surname. It has two possible origins. The first is from the pre-7th Century word deora, meaning beloved and used as a byname, whilst the second is from the word deor, used to describe a wild, swift animal, specifically a deer. In that case the name may have been a nickname for a fast runner, one who had some of the characteristics of a deer. The modern surname can be found as Dear, Deare, Deares, Deer, Deere and Deerr, with diminutives Dearan, Dearing, Deering, Doring, and others. Source.

Thanksgiving's White House Fence Leaper

A man draped in American flag climbs over the fence surrounding the White House grounds Thursday. Vanessa Pena

The White House was on lockdown for a while Thursday, Thanksgiving, November 26, 2015, after a white man wearing an American flag jumped its newly upgraded fence while President Barack Obama and his family were inside the residence for the holiday.

The man, identified as Joseph Caputo, was apprehended about 2:45 p.m. ET on the North Lawn of the White House grounds — the "front door" side along Pennsylvania Avenue, said Robert Hoback, a spokesman for the Secret Service. Police said Caputo was carrying a manila folder, NBC Washington reported.

Joseph is from Ioseph, the Latin form of Greek Ιωσηφ (Ioseph), which was from the Hebrew name יוֹסֵף (Yosef) meaning "he will add." In the Old Testament, Joseph is the eleventh son of Jacob.

Caputo is a common Italian surname, especially found in the South, in the area of Campania. It derives from the Latin root of caput, meaning "head." It therefore can be a Southern Italian nickname meaning "stubborn'," "obstinate," thus literally for "someone with a large head."

The fence lines along the north and south lawns remained closed late Thursday afternoon.

Fencing around the White House was bolstered with a new topping of sharp metal spikes beginning in June after an Army veteran pleaded guilty to scaling a White House fence with a folding knife in 2014.

In an update, a sheriff's deputy shot and killed Curtis Smith of Coatesville, Pennsylvania, after he slashed a guard at the Chester County Courthouse the morning of Tuesday, August 25, 2015. Smith is the man who investigators say once jumped a fence at the White House.

Curtis Smith, 33, of Coatesville, allegedly climbed over the outer perimeter stone wall of the White House at 15th and E Street NW Sunday, March 1, 2015, around 1:45 p.m. He was immediately arrested and taken into custody by Secret Service Uniformed Division Officers.

Ian Boone, 40, of Cambridge, Ontario and Michael Fogg, 27, of Newport News, Virginia, were also charged in two other White House security breaches during the same window as Smith's incident.

Boone allegedly climbed over the bike rack at the outer perimeter near 15th and E Street, NW around 11:30 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2015, before being detained by Uniformed Division Officers.

Fogg allegedly entered a pedestrian gate to the White House after a construction worker exited near East Executive and Pennsylvania avenues, NW around 6:45 a.m. Monday, March 2, 2015. He was also detained by Uniformed Division Officers.

Predicting Terror: Thanksgiving & Black Friday

What is going to happen on Black Friday?

President Barack Obama decided to conduct an unusual surprise news conference. He held a special press conference on Wednesday morning, November 25, 2015, apparently to calm fears about terrorism over the upcoming American Thanksgiving holiday, Black Friday, and the weekend.

"As of now, we know of no plot intending to threaten our homeland" and urged Americans who will be traveling over the weekend to "go about their usual Thanksgiving activities," saying that security and intelligence officials are constantly working to prevent any security threats.

"They did so before the Paris attacks and they do so now," said Obama. "As we go into Thanksgiving weekend, I want America to know we are taking every possible step to keep America safe."

As news talking heads discussed today, there seems to be a government sense that a "global terror alert" is important to give for these upcoming few days, "just as there was over the July 4th weekend."

Of course, no one in the media follows up with the observation that no terrorist events occurred on the July 4, 2015, date or over that following weekend. Terror fears were whipped up in July (see here), but nothing happened. CNN was not able to have another "Breaking News" moment.

Now we are getting similar "alerts" on the American news networks about the dangers of this holiday week.

What might be the reality behind these "warnings"? What potential indicators exist to have official agencies' guard up for November 26 (Thanksgiving), November 27 (Black Friday), and the weekend.

First off, I think the "copycat" calendar cannot be ignored.

Terrorists, with an international perspective, have a longer view of history, also, and that may be a key to why something might happen this weekend.

If you say "Remember 26/11" to Americans, most would not have a clue to what you are talking about.

But in Asia, even in Europe, it means a great deal.

In November 2008, 10 Pakistani members of Lashkar-e-Taiba, an Islamic militant organization, carried out a series of 12 coordinated shooting and bombing attacks lasting four days across Mumbai. The attacks, which drew widespread global condemnation, began on Wednesday, 26 November ("26/11" outside the US) and lasted until Saturday, 29 November 2008 ("29/11/08"), killing approximately 166 people, plus 9 terrorists, and wounding at least 308.

Metro Adlabs cinema (historic Art Deco movie theater; Mumbai is the center of the Bollywood film industry)

Eight of the attacks occurred in South Mumbai: at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, the Oberoi Trident, the Taj Mahal Palace & Tower, Leopold Cafe, Cama Hospital, the Nariman House Jewish community centre, the Metro Cinema, and in a lane behind the Times of India building and St. Xavier's College. There was also an explosion at Mazagaon, in Mumbai's port area, and in a taxi at Vile Parle. Read more on India's 9/11, here.

Taj Mahal Palace and Tower hotel (above, a castle-like 1903 landmark, across from the Gateway of India monument)

The master plan for the Paris attacks very much matched the Mumbai attacks.

Therefore, the anniversary of the Mumbai attacks (November 26 through 29) and the two-week copycat short-term ripple effect from the Paris attack (on Black Friday, November 27), do point to why there may be some concern.

Where? The intelligence communities are talking about Washington D.C. area (e.g., at a high profile site, like Union Station or a football stadium) or New York City (e.g., the Statue of Liberty, the Eero Saarinen-designed TWA Flight Center, Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, or a score of other locations).

The law enforcement authorities need to put extra security around some of the most obvious of targets, despite the fact these actions might be ridiculed by some. Protect important American symbols, keep our citizens safe. Put more guards around the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade's Dino!!

The terrorists might surprise everyone with an attack in, say, a Kansas City mall, or elsewhere. Snopes, of course, is putting to rest most of the rumors. But is there a reality to any of this?

What is real is the psychology of terror.

What do the terrorists want? They desire the fear of being blown up by terrorists to destabilize and immobilize the population. So, of course, Obama's talk versus the wall-to-wall televised news stations' "Breaking News" and "Terror Alerts" makes some sense.   It hardly spreads any secure feelings when CNN's Wolf Blitzer is trying to "restore calm" with his shrill reading of every new detail about "terrorists at large."

In The Copycat Effect: How The Media and Popular Culture Trigger The Mayhem in Tomorrow's Headlines (NY: Simon and Schuster, 2004), I document how this attitude is dealt to us as "death sells."

Due to what the calendar tells us, we should not ignore the danger, but should we buy into this climate of fear, either?

No.

Synchromystic Of The Year 2015: Will Morgan

The Synchromystic of 2015 ~ Will Morgan ~ was chosen for his outstanding sync contributions, his grounded body of work in the service of synchromystic intellectual pursuits, and to encourage him to continue to add his sense of humor and insights to the field.

Every year, a unique artifact from the past and/or present is awarded. This year, it is a stein that was created in 1991 to celebrate the John Wayne cinema classic, Flying Tigers. The tradition of how these awards are chosen is as follows. I decide upon the recipient and then take my time drifting through local antique stores, until a special object drops into my grasp.

When I picked this Flying Tigers stein for Morgan, I was unaware of an amazing series of syncs to him that I would discover in researching the background of this movie.

First, I did choose it as Morgan is involved in the film end of synchromysticism, although it was counter-indicated that I would have come to me a "major movie star" stein. But then, something was going on here. Considering that Will Morgan is one of the producers of the synchromystic classic podcast, 42 Minutes, I was not surprised to find the film Flying Tigers was released in October 1942.

Furthermore, before long, as I went deeper into this rabbit hole, I was alerted to a name game, almost immediately. I am well-aware that the early World War II air unit, the Flying Tigers, would evolve into what today we know as parts of the OSS, CIA, Air America, Slick Airways, and FedEx. What I did not know is that there is a direct line of dots linking the Flying Tigers, John Wayne, super spy William Pawley, Panama, and double agent William Morgan (not our Will Morgan, please note).

William Morgan and Frank Sturgis (yes, the Bay of Pigs, Watergate burglar Sturgis) were friends. Morgan secretly had planned an invasion of Panama from Cuba in 1959, and wanted Sturgis to be his second in command.

Sturgis told Paul Meskil:
An FBI report on Sturgis was generated on April 6, 1959, at Miami, Florida. On April 7, 1959, Sturgis was of interest to the St. Louis, Missouri, FBI Office. [Field 97-109] The Norfolk, Virginia, FBI Office filed a report on Sturgis dated April 13, 1959. [Field 97-13] On April 18, 1959, a ship carrying 35 of "Morgan's Raiders" sailed from Cuba toward Panama. On April 18, 1959, after receiving a report that the invasion ship had left from apart under William Morgan's control, the Panamanian Government order [Tony] Arias' arrest. Panamanian authorities found that John Wayne had deposited $525,000 in Arias' bank account between November 19, 1957 and April 5, 1959. John Wayne said he was partners with Arias in a shrimp-exporting business. Six days later the crew landed and were taken into custody by Panamanian authorities. Sturgis associate Alexander Rorke was waiting to rendezvous with the group. Sturgis and William Morgan were arrested in Cuba. William Morgan was soon released.

Sturgis continued:
The Panama thing went bad in the latter part of February 1959 and everyone was on their guard. This wasn't sanctioned by Fidel, it wasn't sanctioned by anybody. And none of the assholes that went on this invasion were rebels, they hadn't been in the mountains, they all had shorten air. The guy that organized the Panama invasion was William Pawley. He suckered John Wayne's people and everybody into the thing. Pawley met him when they were making a movie about the Flying Tigers. Source.
William Douglas Pawley (September 7, 1896—January 7, 1977) was a U.S. ambassador, a noted businessman and associated with the Flying Tigers American Volunteer Group (AVG) during World War II. In 1941, with his brothers Edward and Eugene, he was involved with the organization and support of the 1st American Volunteer Group, popularly known as the Flying Tigers.  Postwar, Pawley was an active member of the Republican Party. A close friend of both President Dwight Eisenhower and Central Intelligence Agency director Allen W. Dulles, he took part in a policy that later become known as Executive Action, a plan to remove unfriendly foreign leaders from power. His final residence was in Miami Beach, Florida, where he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, in January 1977.

William Morgan is an important, if not shadowy figure in the world occupied by Flying Tigers and the CIA. When he was 18, he enlisted in the Army and was sent to the Atsugi Army-Air Force base, in Japan, the same location where Lee Harvey Oswald would be court-martialed a decade later.

Morgan

went AWOL at least twice, was court-martialed on Nov. 7, 1947, and thrown into the Kyoto stockade for three months. He promptly escaped after overpowering a guard and stealing his uniform and weapon. Recaptured, he was again court-martialed, found guilty of escape, assault and robbery, and sentenced to five years of hard labor.
Declared a “recalcitrant military prisoner,” Morgan was transported to the maximum-security disciplinary barracks at Camp Cooke, Calif. (today Vandenberg Air Force Base). At Camp Cooke, he entertained other prisoners by spinning fanciful stories about his being a direct descendant of another William Morgan who, in 1826, became quite notorious after vanishing from his upstate New York home. Source.

The presumed Masonic death of that William Morgan (1774–1826?) caused the forming of the Anti-Masonic Party. He...
was a resident of Batavia, New York, whose disappearance and presumed murder in 1826 ignited a powerful movement against the Freemasons, a fraternal society that had become influential in the United States. After Morgan announced his intention to publish a book exposing Freemasonry's secrets, he was arrested on trumped-up charges. He disappeared soon after, and is believed to have been kidnapped and killed by some Masons.

The super spy William Morgan was applauded by Fidel Castro, in Havana in 1959.

"Morgan’s first several months in Cuba are shrouded in mystery, but if one is to believe the highly fictionalized account of his life portrayed in Alex Abella’s novel, The Great American, an unwitting Morgan was literally recruited off Havana’s streets for work with the CIA," says the entertaining and rather complete overview in "William Morgan: Patriot or Traitor?" (See also JFK Operation.)

After being funded by Castro, to farm frogs, William Morgan was executed by the Castro regime on March 11, 1961, apparently for being a double agent working for the CIA.

That's how sync-ing works. Grab a Flying Tigers stein for Will Morgan, and the floodgates of other William Morgans open up.

For more complete insights into who is our synchromystic Will Morgan is a current Denver resident, born on July 25, 1978, as was Louise Joy Brown, the world's first in-vitro human or so-called "test tube" baby.  For more on Morgan, please read the following biography sent in by Morgan, with assists from Alan Green and Andras Jones:
Synchromysticism discovered Will Morgan in 2008 and in the ensuing years he has established himself as one of the foundational figures of the “Sync” movement. He was one of the original members of The Sync Whole, writing as "A Few Shots to Shaman" and was published in The Sync Book Vol. 1. Will and Douglas Bolles co-host 42 Minutes, the flagship podcast from Sync Book Radio, where Will has researched and interviewed many of the luminaries in the field of sync while ensuring the community is inclusive and accessible to newcomers. As a filmmaker, Morgan has developed a unique style of Sync Film focusing on lesser known film personae (as opposed to major movie stars). His collaborations with Andras Jones, whose own filmography Will explored in a groundbreaking three-part Sync Film (the first ever to be hosted on an actor's IMDB page) have led to the exploration of artists as diverse and strange as Rose McGowan, Keith Coogan, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Nik Stahl, The Posies, Negativland & Viggo Mortensen. Will Morgan continues his quest to make Sync more accessible to the people who make the cinematic art product we consume through his continued work with syncbook.com and radio8ball.com.

What is 42 Minutes? It is a lively weekly conversation, hosted by Douglas Bolles and Will Morgan, in which they discuss "the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything" with intriguing authors, thinkers, sychromystics and philosophers of our day. The show has its genesis in a series of discussions regarding The Sync Book, of which both hosts are authors.

Will Morgan was one of the speakers at this event in 2014.
