Who turned out to be the Olympics' Opening Ceremony's Joker?

I am watching the Olympics Opening Ceremonies, all recorded replays, and thus merely another Danny Boyle production. Actually rather terrible, but here are some things I saw, on a deeper level.

NBC began the evening program with a starting and startling image of a red dawn. You can't make these things up.

Several other symbols jump out.

The 2012 Olympics ceremony's theme is "Isles of Wonder," inspired by William Shakespeare's play about shipwrecked castaways, The Tempest. The reading from The Tempest was about fear and the coming storm.

Amsterdam correspondent Theo Paijmans wrote me: "It is commonly held that William Shakespeare may have modeled the character of Prospero in The Tempest on John Dee." (John Dee signed his letters 007, the first Bond.) Is there a storm coming?

The Bell. The Culture Secretary had an accident with a hand-held bell that almost hurt people in a crowd.

The sound of a 27-ton bell — the largest harmonically tuned bell in the world — forged at London's 442-year-old Whitechapel (Jack the Ripper's neighborhood?) Bell Foundry, which made London's Big Ben and Philadelphia's Liberty Bell, opened the ceremony.  The bell is inscribed with a line from The Tempest: “Be not afeard; the isle is full of noises.”

Yes, as a tie-in to the new 007 movie, Skyfall, a James Bond double "fell" into the Olympics stadium, but the double for Queen Elizabeth jumping from a little plane was what had NBC hosts talking.

The opening had a "green and pleasant land" described in William Blake's poem Jerusalem, which was set to loud, booming music, regarded as England's unofficial national anthem. The underlying symbolism of "Jerusalem" would fill volumes. The rising smoke towers reminded me of those that were said to have inspired The Two Towers of The Lord of the Rings.

Now this is creepy and not lost on even the NBC folks: the Queen of Hearts (Alice in Wonderland), Captain Hook (Peter Pan), Lord Voldemort (Harry Potter), the Child Catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and Cruella de Vil (101 Dalmatians) - all highly symbolic pedophile figures - were shown vs only Mary Poppins (well, 30 or so cloned Mary Poppins).

Vangelis' theme from Chariots of Fire played. Of late here, we've mentioned the soundtrack composed by Vangelis for Ridley Scott's 1982 film Blade Runner.

The entire Chariots of Fire segment was turned into a comedy by Mr. Bean as the Joker at the Olympics. The actor's name is Rowan Atkinson, a double red name.

Rowan \ro-wan\ as a boy's or girl's name is of Gaelic origin, and the meaning of Rowan is "little red-head." Also the name of a flowering tree with red berries.

Atkinson is son of Atkin, which is as a patronymic form of the medieval male given name Atkin or Adkin, itself a double diminutive of the Hebrew name "Adam," meaning "red earth."

Meanwhile, the other clown appearing in London right before the Opening turned out to be Willard Mitt Romney. London's newspapers were not kind to him, and one called him, "Mitt the Twit."  I am not making this observation to be political, but to note that an underlying theme here is that Romney turned himself, by making several gaffs, into a clown, a court jester, and, yes, a joker.

London Disaster?

Is there a general sense that the London Olympics may result in a disaster? Why is that? There's nothing here but doom, gloom, and missteps, methinks. And those seem only be Romney's.

Well, according to some, it is in the cards. Or by coincidence, actually, it is shown on a card hinting at Big Ben toppling. (It's not. It's a Japanese site.) The card's art was created 17 years ago and holds some credibility due to the fact they show other images matching red dawn moments today we call simply "9/11."

Combined disasters. Shared disasters. Disasters. A bad star rising. A red dawn.

From Italian disastro, disaster; originally meaning "unfavorable to one's stars", from dis-Italian, dis-, bad (compare dys-), + astro, star, celestial body, from Latin astrum, from Greek astron.

The Advent of Deception site made the following observation:

Steve Jackson created The Illuminati Card Game in 1995 that consists of 330 cards. Two of the cards portray the Twin Towers of New York bombed and the Pentagon. Out of the 330 cards, there is one card that projects Olympic colors that are within the "Combined Disaster Card." We view Big Ben in the background and five people wearing the colors of the Olympics.

Big Ben? Apparently not: Most have identified it as the Ginza Wako clock tower from Tokyo, with 11:11 on the clock face. (See comments below.)

But the World Trade Center/Twin Towers card sure has the blogosphere talking.

What are we to think about the wild imaginings coming from some circles being associated with these Olympics? I previously posted some of this imagery. Below is another example, via RPJ:

On Thursday night, July 26, 2012, the following came across Twitter, via "Breaking News UK ‏@BreakingNewsUK"

London police briefly evacuate Westfield mall outside Olympic Park - @AP

and then

Update: People are being let back into Westfield mall near Olympic park; no word yet on what triggered the alarm - @AP

Media accounts later mentioned:

Police said a fire alarm forced authorities to briefly clear the sprawling mall beside the Olympic Park. The alarms sent hundreds of people into the streets amid wailing alarms a day before the opening ceremony of the Summer Games. Fears of terrorism have been at the center of preparations for the Olympics, and authorities have twice been forced to deploy troops when security arrangements fell short. Police allowed shoppers to return after a few minutes. Westfield mall authorities said the alarm was triggered in a restaurant area.

Mitt Romney remarked almost as soon as he arrived in the UK that security levels at the London Olympics were "disconcerting." Mitt Romney appeared to be raising questions about safety at the London Olympics. The newspapers reacted quickly to his comments:

A headline Thursday on the Web site of the Guardian newspaper said, “Mitt Romney’s Olympics blunder stuns No. 10 and hands gift to Obama,” while the Telegraph published an opinion column with a sub-headline that read: “Mitt Romney is perhaps the only politician who could start a trip that was supposed to be a charm offensive by being utterly devoid of charm and mildly offensive.”

Anniversaries, of course, are on the minds of British subjects:

The 7 July 2005 London bombings (often referred to as 7/7) were a series of co-ordinated suicide attacks in London which targeted civilians using thepublic transport system during the morning rush hour. On the morning of Thursday, 7 July 2005, four Islamist home-grown terroristsdetonated four bombs, three in quick succession aboard London Underground trains across the city and, later, a fourth on a double-decker bus in Tavistock Square. Fifty-two civilians and the four bombers were killed in the attacks, and over 700 more were injured. The attack happened 24 hours after the city was selected to host the 2012 Summer Olympics.

And...for tomorrow...

At 21:15 hrs on 28 July 2003 a bomb placed under a seat of a B.E.S.T. bus exploded on the busy Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg in Ghatkopar, India. The bomb was placed in the rear of the bus and killed 4 people and injured 32. A man who was riding a motorcycle behind the bus and a woman who was in a rikshaw travelling near the bus were among those killed. An eyewitness claims that the woman was thrown at least 10 feet away from the rikshaw and died on the spot.

Meanwhile, back in the States, one of our eyes is on possible Aurora copycats or some other storms coming. Rumblings are already here. It seems an Ohio man called 911 threatening a Colorado shooting for Ohio. They arrested him. Other weird incidents have happened, some seem to be bad choices of behavior related to costumes.

You have noted here my awareness of the "name game."

MAH shared an intriguing paragraph from yesterday's Los Angeles Times about the "curse invoked by Holmes' name" with regard to a call for suppressing Holmes' name as a way out of the copycat syndrome:

Names have always been the subject of magical thinking -- the ancient Romans buried lead tablets invoking the names of spirits, gods or the dead in order to curse their enemies, just as one example -- so maybe it shouldn't be too surprising that many people think uttering the name "James Holmes," like an unguarded mention of the name "Voldemort" in J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series, will cause bad things to happen...The curse invoked by Holmes' name, according to some, will take the form of other mass shootings. Indiscriminate killers seem to crave fame and notoriety; take those away, the theory goes, and there will be no reason for troubled loners of the future to strap on weapons and shoot up the local post office/mall/campus/movie theater.

Red Dawn Again

There is another synchrocinematic red dawn.

"Let this be the hour when we draw swords together. Fell deeds awake. Now for wrath, now for ruin, and the red dawn. Forth, Eorlingas!" ~ Theoden, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002)

Once again, I have mentioned before the meanings of Colorado (= red) and Aurora (= dawn).

 

Long before the movie was released on December 5, 2002, the book The Two Towers was published on November 11, 1954, as the second volume of J. R. R. Tolkien's novel series The Lord of the Rings. Much has been written on the prophetic nature of The Two Towers and its visual, visceral link to the twins towers of the World Trade Center and 9/11. No need to go over that again. I suppose we should feel, then, that finding "red dawn" within The Twin Towers is not overly surprising.

But there it is, nevertheless.

Visup, who clearly comprehends twilight language, said this week:

The name Aurora itself means 'dawn', while Colorado means 'red.' This has led several synch-watchers, most notably Loren Coleman, to revisit the notorious 1984 action film Red Dawn, which I've written briefly on before here. However the combination that Colorado and Aurora produces, red dawn, could just as easily be an allusion to the heliacal rising of Sirius as it is to the Milius film. When Sirius returned to visibility after a 70 day absence it appeared as red in the sky during the heliacal rising, thus producing a red dawn at the onset of the Dog Days.

As Visup hopefully also understands, it is not important to me if the expression is literally taken as an early morning, ruby first viewing of Sol (the offspring of Aurora)/the Sun, a synchrocinematic reference, or Sirius rising. What is more important, of course, is its metaphoric appearance in the context of our discussion here, of a "red dawn" being translated as an action resulting in major unknown cultural and societal change. Specifically and synchromystically, I have employed this definition here at Twilight Language:

"Red dawn event," a milestone manifestation of unfathomable future dimensions (July 24, 2012);

and

The Aurora, Colorado shooting appears to be a "red dawn," a milestone awakening event of which we can only guess what it might really mean in the near and distant future (July 22, 2012).

Meanwhile, the story unfolds. Or does it?

The strange graphic created, apparently, for the 

even stranger site, "Guilty or Innocent? Take The Poll."

The latest James Holmes news is the discovery of a notebook that is “full of details" about how he was going "to kill people.” 

Police and FBI agents were called to the University of Colorado Anschutz medical campus in Aurora on Monday morning after the psychiatrist, who is also a professor at the school, reported receiving a package believed to be from the suspect. Although that package turned out to be from someone else and harmless, a search of the Campus Services' mailroom turned up another package sent to the psychiatrist with Holmes’ name in the return address.

But other news sources are saying Holmes told officials to look for the package. Who knows?

Allegedly Holmes mailed this notebook to a University of Colorado psychiatrist at the  Anschütz Medical Center before the attack. The date this notebook allegedly arrived? July 12th, Orange Day.

Anschütz?

The Anschütz Medical Campus is where the alleged shooter studied. The campus is located on a portion of the former Fitzsimons Army Medical Center. After the base was decommissioned in 1999, the campus became known as the Fitzsimons Medical Campus, or simply "Fitzsimons." The name of the portion of Fitzsimons that houses the university facilities was changed to its current name in 2006 after the (oil wealthy) Anschutz family donated $91 million to construct the Anschutz Centers for Advanced Medicine, which include the Anschutz Outpatient and Cancer Pavilions, and the Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion, all located on the campus. 

The 2004 Democratic Party Presidential candidate John Kerry was born at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center on December 11, 1943. After playing 27 holes of golf on September 23, 1955, in Denver, President Dwight D. Eisenhower then had a massive heart attack in the wee hours of Saturday, September 24. It was at the Fitzsimons location where he recovered from his heart attack in 1955.

Anschütz is a North German name with an origin linked to an occupational name for someone whose job was to keep a dam or pool filled with water (German anschützen ‘to fill up’), especially a dam above a water channel serving a mill or mine. The surname is common in northern and eastern Germany.

Two different German gun manufacturers are Anschutz JGA and Anschutz Waffenfabrik Ulm Do, coincidentally.

Where are the cartoonists?

Is it me, or do there seem to be less editorial cartoons that usual in the wake of this shooting?

Aurora: Synchromystic Wonderland

The unfolding Aurora red dawn event has evolved from a breaking news item, to a wall-to-wall massacre media madness melodrama, to America's favorite "false flag" conspiracy and entertainment news distraction.

What Aurora may truly turn out to be is a complex "occult" (as in the original meaning of the word, "hidden," not "paranormal") synchronicity story of which more and more is being revealed daily. Joker and other copycats will focus the Aurora incident in other directions as we see the breathtaking nature of the red dawn event fade from the attention of the media and Twitter nation. It is becoming integrated into our culture, nevertheless. The facts are that, on a synchromystic level, layers of the onion are being peeled back carefully as we move away from Friday, July 20th.

For example, today's news mentions that James Holmes, the alleged shooter, will not be seen on court room cameras broadcast into your front room any longer. But the visual imagery that appears to be an important part of this drama continues.

Accused movie theater gunman James Holmes is spitting at jail officers so frequently that he is being made to wear a face guard, sources told ABC News.

What does this quickly imprint in the public?

Bane from The Dark Knight Rises, of course.

But it goes deeper. What does James Holmes look like with this jailhouse mask?

The villain of Batman Begins (2005), Ra's al Ghul (Liam Neeson) - also at top.

Or the Man in the Iron Mask?

We have no idea what James Holmes, in his jailhouse face guard, looks like, so in this visual age, expect courtroom artists, if they are allowed, to give us new images for the future.

Meanwhile, questions remain. One was pointed out to me this morning in an email from Andrew Griffin, Editor at Red Dirt Report. According to a news items in the Toronto Sun: "MSNBC reports that public records show Holmes lived with two roommates at the apartment, which is reserved for students, faculty and staff from the medical campus."

But if you go to the original MSNBC account, oops, the mention of Holmes' alleged two roommates has disappeared.

What is going on here?

Meanwhile, the entertainment news continues. We learn that actor Christian Bale (Batman, The Dark Knight trilogy) and his wife Sandra "Sibi" Blažić (staff, Red Corner) visited victims and a memorial to the victims of Friday's mass shooting, on Tuesday, July 24, 2012, in Aurora, Colorado. Nice placement of the Red Sox cap in the photograph, I'd say.
