Morgan: Negan, Batman, Watchmen, Xindi-Reptilian, and Ant-Man

The Walking Dead's "Negan" is played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

The name Morgan is from the Old Welsh masculine name Morcant, which was possibly derived from Welsh mor "sea" and cant "circle." It directly relates to the meaning "sea chief" or "sea defender," and "dwells near the sea."

Jeffrey Dean Morgan is also presently playing the character of a freelance investigator Jason Crouse in the popular T.V show The Good Wife.

In 2005 and 2006, Jeffrey Dean Morgan simultaneously appeared in three television series: in the CW series Supernatural as John Winchester, in a recurring role on ABC's Grey's Anatomy as heart transplant patient Denny Duquette, and as Judah Botwin in two episodes of the Showtime series Weeds. 

Morgan, in 2003, was on Star Trek: Enterprise, playing a Xindi-Reptilian, in the episode, "Carpenter Street."

He was the star of the 1996–1997 television series The Burning Zone; his character, Dr. Edward Marcase, appeared in 10 out of 19 episodes that season.

Morgan portrayed "The Comedian," a cigar-chomping antihero, in Watchmen, based on Alan Moore's graphic novel.

2009's Watchmen's The Comedian (character "Edward Morgan Blake"), and 2016's Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice's "Thomas Wayne," "Bruce Wayne's" father, are both played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan (born 4.22.1966).

Will Morgan observed on 3.28.2016, "I just found out that Batman's mom (Lauren Cohan) in BvS is also from TWD. In fact either Negan will kill 'Morgan' or her (character called 'Maggie') husband."

"Morgan showed up as the 'bat'-man last night (4.3.2016) and followed through with his 'NEW WORLD ORDER' comment from the comic. Odds are he killed 'Maggie's' husband, although they didn't show it. 'Maggie,' of course, is his own wife in BvsS," wrote Will Morgan on 4.4.2016.

Who knew Negan would be one of director Peyton Reed's ultimate Easter Eggs at the opening of Ant-Man?

And finally, there is even a "red dawn" in the mix. In the 2012 film, Red Dawn, Morgan plays "Sergeant Major Andrew Tanner."

Director Zack Snyder Defends Aquaman Due to His...Trident

You really can't make these kinds of syncs up. Right after posting "Several Sites Are Studying Trident Syncs," one comes of another trident moment from the universe of comic books and superheroes.

IGN News' Jim Vejvoda penned an interesting little bit of popular culture news about how "Batman v Superman Director Zack Snyder Defends Aquaman on Detroit Radio."

Disturbed by what he was hearing from some disc jockeys who were criticizing Aquaman, Snyder phoned in his defense: 

The cool thing with Aquaman is he has his trident. You have to realize that could cut the flesh of Superman if they came in contact. That's a thing that's in the canon. He's super strong because, of course, he can exist at these super deep depths. So when he comes up here, he's crazy strong. Anyway, not to say he's in my movie or anything like that, but he has the potential to be bad ass, that's all I’m saying.

That's right. Because Aquaman has a trident!
