Red Dawn 2020?

Promotionally entitled, "McDonald's Drive Through," this movie lobby card produced for the 1984 release of the Patrick Swayze film, held an iconic image.

Red Dawn is a 1984 American war film directed by John Milius, with a screenplay by Kevin Reynolds and Milius. It stars Patrick Swayze, Charlie Sheen, C. Thomas Howell, Lea Thompson, Jennifer Grey, Ben Johnson, Harry Dean Stanton, Ron O'Neal, William Smith, and Powers Boothe. Red Dawn was released on August 10, 1984.

The vanishing of the actors in Red Dawn has been rather whole scale. Patrick Swayze, 57, died September 14, 2009. CBS and Warner Bros. terminated the then-46-year-old Charlie Sheen's contract on March 7, 2011. Ben Johnson, 77, died on April 8, 1996. Harry Dean Stanton, 91, died on September 15, 2017. Ron O'Neal, 66, died on January 14, 2004. Powers Boothe, 68, died May 14, 2017.

On November 16, 2012, Enki King wrote in the comments here that "[he] looked at the stars of the Dawn films and their symbolic alchemical significance. Kristen Stewart was albedo-resonating Snow White and Bella Swan; and Chris Hemsworth, who stars in the 2012 Red Dawn, co-starred with Stewart in Snow White and the Huntsman. Hemsworth also starred in Thor, and toward the beginning of that film, when Thor falls from the sky (Skyfall), scientist Erik Selvig exclaims, 'I thought you said it was a subtle aurora!'"

On November 21, 2012, the wide release of Red Dawn (directed by Dan Bradley and starring Chris Hemsworth and Jeffrey Dean Morgan) occurred.

Within the world of the Twilight Language, another "Red Dawn" appeared in 2012. "Colorado Aurora," literally translated as "red dawn." I have mentioned before the meanings of Colorado (= red) and Aurora (= dawn). See the many links here.

On July 20, 2012, Aurora was the site of the third largest mass shooting in terms of number of casualties in United States history at the time, now the eighteenth largest, and the second-deadliest shooting in Colorado after the 1999 Columbine High School massacre. The shooting occurred just after midnight, when James Eagan Holmes opened fire during the midnight premiere of The Dark Knight Rises in a Century movie theater, killing 12 people and injuring 70 others.

What are we to make of the Soviets at a McDonald's in 1984 through the lense of 2020? It appears to seem troubling and prophetic, all at the same time. This appears especially true when in 2019, both Hillary Rodham Clinton and Donald Trump are still talking about the Russians.

Will 2020 usher in another "red dawn" event? Perchance, not at a McDonald's, but at a Waffle House?

Cryptokubrology Deaths Update

Cryptokubrology has been defined as "digging through the works of Stanley Kubrick on the premise that its body is a muted mass of coded cabalistic ministrations comparable (in scope) to the works of William Shakespeare, but incomparable (in complexity) to anything in recorded history. In fact, Cryptokubrology has led to an entirely different view of so-called 'history' itself."

Cryptokubrology is "a useful methodology for deconstructing cinema, history, and synchronicity," noted writer Alex Fulton, January 31, 2017.

The 2019 deaths of the Lewises, Edward and Mildred, falls under this sphere of research.

Edward Lewis was born on December 16, 1919 in Camden, New Jersey, USA. He was a producer and writer, known for Spartacus (1960), Missing (1982) and Seconds (1966). Numerous obituaries observed his role as a producer for Seven Days in May (1964). He was married to Mildred Lewis. He died on July 27, 2019 in Los Angeles, California, USA.

Helped break the Hollywood Blacklist by employing Dalton Trumbo on Spartacus, which is tied to Stanley Kubrick (as director) and Kirk Douglas (as actor and executive producer).

Mildred Lewis was born as Mildred Gerchik. She was a producer and writer, known for Harold and Maude (1971), Missing (1982) and Left (2005). She was married to Edward Lewis. She died on April 7, 2019 in Los Angeles, California, USA.

Her older brother Max (Brooklyn, January 16, 1911- September 21, 2008, Pacific Palisades) was a veteran of the Abraham Lincoln Brigade in the Spanish Civil War and a doctor in L.A..

Edward and Mildred were actively involved in civil rights causes, working with Cesar Chavez to facilitate the establishment of the United Farmworkers of America's headquarters in La Paz, California, hosting fundraisers and organizing a Hollywood Bowl fundraiser for the 1968 Poor People's Campaign.

Edward Lewis was interested in assassination studies. He was a producer for Executive Action (1973) and an interviewee for the documentary November 22, 1963: In Search of an Answer (1973).

Jokers Wilding

Today, October 13, 2019, this reflective essay by Enki King is published, sharing his latest insights in the wake of the release of the new Joker film:

Jokers Wilding

In my October 1 Twilight Language essay "Klown-Kurrent/33," I recounted a number of mostly disturbing clown-related events that occurred in the weeks following Joker’s premiere at the Venice Film Festival on August 31, 2019. I also predicted October 3, the day of Joker’s wide release, would, like the day of its festival premiere, be another day of violence. Additionally, I mentioned regions near the 33rd parallel should be watched for Red Dawn events*.

A Joker-related incident did occur on October 3 at approximately 33.7 degrees north latitude, but fortunately, in this case, bloodshed was avoided. In Huntington Beach, California, Cinemark’s Century Huntington Beach and XD movie theater closed down after receiving what was described as a “credible threat” related to their booking Joker.

Not so lucky were three residents of Smith Tower Apartments** in Vancouver, Washington. On October 3, a tenant named Robert Breck, 80, opened fire, resulting in the death of one fellow tenant and the wounding of two others. Like Arthur Fleck in Joker, Breck was a victim of harassment according to reports.

October 3, the final day of my 33-day countdown, ended as it began — with a deadly knife attack in France. Mickaël Harpon, an IT worker employed by the Paris police who had been hearing voices, fatally stabbed four coworkers and injured another. The incident was reportedly the worst loss of French police lives in a single day since World War II.

Harpon is French for harpoon, a synchromystic resonator here, as one of Joker’s bizarre weapons is his “BANG!” flag gun which, with the second pull of the trigger, fires a deadly harpoon. Also, of note is the location of Harpon’s attack. The police station is on Île de la Cité, an island in the river Seine. Twilight language’s name game is at play here: The Joker, and possibly Harpon, are insane, while the site of the attack is in Seine.

In 2013, another individual heard a voice in his head and launched a stabbing attack. In this case, the voice was that of the Joker, and the name of the knifeman was Dale Pipe. "Pipe" is synchromystically significant. In writer/magickian Alan Moore's graphic novel Batman: The Killing Joke, an unnamed engineer, while engaged in criminal activity at a chemical plant, is surprised by Batman, jumps into a chemical waste basin, and is swept away in a pipe. This pipe can be seen as a symbolic birth canal for the Joker. He emerges with chemically-altered white skin, bright red lips, and green hair — i.e., he is reborn as a clown. His discovery of his disfigurement contributes to his becoming completely insane. "Pipe" has continued to appear in disturbing news events. A pipe bomb was mailed to Robert De Niro on the first day of filming Joker. Pipe bombs were in the news again recently when on October 4, a Florida woman, reportedly "consumed with the Columbine and Oklahoma killings," was arrested after her parents notified authorities after discovering 24 of the devices in her bedroom. On October 5, four homeless men were beaten to death and another was critically injured in New York's Chinatown by an attacker wielding a metal pipe.

As Loren has noted, Chinatown was used as one of Joker's filming locations. Urban Dictionary cements the Joker/pipe connection by providing this definition for Joker: "A slang used while smoking marijuana. To joker, means to hit the pipe, bong, joint, anything that is being passed around, TWICE in your one turn…" (Note that "hit the pipe twice" reflects back to the Joker's "born again" experience by twilight language logic.)

Tequila, a main ingredient in The Joker's Tea, wormed its way into my awareness while I was digging for syncs. On October 4, a man who had been observed pouring a bottle of tequila into his slushie was ejected from a screening of Joker after terrifying audience members by clapping every time Joker murdered someone, and by spitting on patrons. Two days later, two shooters entered Tequila KC Bar in Kansas City and killed four and wounded five. The same day, Ginger Baker, drummer for the band Cream, passed away. Cream's song "White Room" is included in Joker's soundtrack. Loren alerted me to existence of a tequila cocktail called the Ginger Baker.

I reminded him that Tila Tequila famously got poop thrown at her while performing at an Insane Clown Posse show. Some sync holes seem bottomless…

Pondering Joker and insanity had me thinking about Arkham Asylum, a facility for the criminally insane that has housed the Joker in the comics, and which was inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft and his fictional city of Arkham, Massachusetts. So, when news broke of vandalism at Salem, New Hampshire's America's Stonehenge, a site Lovecraft is rumored to have visited, my attention was captured. (This visit is believed by many, though not all Lovecraft scholars, to have inspired the tale The Dunwich Horror.) A stone known as the Sacrificial Table was engraved by the vandal(s) with the messages, "AWG1WGA," an initialism of the QAnon slogan, "As we go one, we go all," and "I AM MARK." The latter message may be short for "I am Mark Sargent," a flat earther meme. It would seem the individual or individuals behind this reprehensible act are simultaneously anti-globalist and anti-globe. Interestingly, QAnons refer to their opponents as "clowns."

It appears this incident is not isolated. QAnon-related graffiti, along with a broken stained-glass window, was left on July 8 at a Catholic church in East Boston. A QAnon follower vandalized a Catholic church on September 25 in Sedona, Arizona.

A suspicious fire at a Mason lodge*** in Northwood, New Hampshire, about an hour's drive from America's Stonehenge, occurred on the same night as the vandalism to the Sacrificial Table. No QAnon calling cards were reportedly left, but given the timing and proximity to the Salem, New Hampshire site, it seems a distinct possibility the same criminal(s) were responsible.

Arthur Fleck's line, "Is it just me, or is it getting crazier out there?" comes to mind while pondering all of this. Perhaps, when Joker eventually leaves theaters, things will quiet down. And maybe then, if I'm lucky, the song lyrics****, "Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right…" will finally stop looping in my head. ~ Enki King

Postscript:

I wonder if The Wizard of Oz syncs are going to join clown syncs this season.

I was viewing the neighborhood where the New Orleans Hard Rock Hotel collapsed on Google Maps, and I noticed the site shares a block with Rainbow Shops and The Ruby Slipper Cafe. Hopefully this doesn't signal an incoming clownado! ~ Enki King

Updates:

Right around the corner from Canal and Rampart, where the New Orleans Hard Rock Hotel collapsed, killing two, perhaps three, construction workers, is the Saenger Theater. Playing there is the adaptation of The Wizard of Oz, "Wicked."

Also, as was revealed immediately before and after the release of Joker, Joaquin Phoenix was inspired by Ray Bolger, who was originally to play the Tin Man, but was the Scarecrow in 1939's The Wizard of Oz. Phoenix said he was not copying the previous Joker characters.

Notes:

*"'Red dawn event' is a milestone manifestation of unfathomable future dimensions." (July 24, 2012).

**This shooting occurred on the 13th floor of the 15-story Smith Tower, a high rise senior apartment complex. The building looks rather similar to the Capitol Records Tower, which is only 13 floors tall.

The two women who were shot were a 77-year-old resident of the Tower, and a 44-year-old caregiver who worked there. The numbers 77 and 44 are both multiples of 11.

***One of the oldest Masonic Lodges in the country in Northwood, New Hampshire, was engulfed in flames and burned to the ground on September 29, 2019.

**** "Stuck In The Middle With You"

Well I don't know why I came here tonight,I got the feeling that something ain't right,
I'm so scared in case I fall off my chair,
And I'm wondering how I'll get down the stairs,
Clowns to the left of me,
Jokers to the right, here I am,
Stuck in the middle with you...

Yom Kippur Attacks: 2019

Wednesday, October 9, 2019, was the beginning of Yom Kippur- the Day of Atonement.

At least two people were killed Wednesday in Halle, Germany.

The shootings occured near a synagogue and a kebab shop. At least one suspect, 27-year-old local right-wing man (Stephan B), has been arrested, though police are still investigating whether others were involved in the attack.

Wednesday is Yom Kippur, one of the holiest days on the Jewish calendar. German media is reporting that at least one gunman posted a video of his assault, recorded with a helmet camera, where he made anti-Semitic comments. But police have not yet confirmed that this was a targeted attack.

The film reportedly showed his abortive attempt to shoot his way into the Halle synagogue, which was full of worshippers marking Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar. It then allegedly shows him shooting a female passer-by close to Halle’s Jewish cemetery, then driving to a kebab shop where he shoots his second victim.

The filming of Wednesday’s attack echoed another horrific shooting halfway around the world when a far-right white supremacist in March killed 51 people at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand and livestreamed much of the attack on Facebook. That massacre drew strong criticism of social media giants for not immediately finding and blocking such a violent video.

The SITE Intelligence Group said the video on livestreaming site Twitch started with the assailant saying “my name is Anon and I think the Holocaust never happened.” He mentioned feminism and “mass immigration” and said that “the root of all these problems is the Jew.”

Here are other highlights of what is known:
At least two people were killed in a shooting near a synagogue and its cemetery, and near a kebab shop in Halle, a city in eastern Germany, according to media reports. A police spokesperson told CNN that the shooting happened on the same street as a synagogue.
The BBC, citing local German media, said shots were fired at the synagogue, but police haven’t confirmed. Witnesses inside the synagogue told German media that the gunman tried to enter the synagogue, but could not force his way inside.
At least one suspect is in custody, according to the New York Times and the Washington Post, both citing local media reports. Earlier on Wednesday, police said two other suspects may have fled in a vehicle south, but it’s not clear right now whether other people were involved.
German media is reporting that at least one of the gunman recorded his attack on a camera mounted on his helmet. On the video, he made anti-Semitic and extremist references, according to reports. German authorities have not yet confirmed the authenticity of the video.
German Interior Minister Horst Seehofer saidthat that police suspect the shooting may have been an anti-Semitic attack.
German federal prosecutors have taken over the case, according to DW. “Whether this case had an anti-Semitic motive still has to be determined,” Carolin Urban, a spokesperson for the federal prosecutors office, said. “We do not exclude any possibility.”
Local police warned residents to stay in their homes, and the city’s railway station was shut down, reports CNN.

Bloodbath in Chinatown: Joker Tie-In?

Early on Saturday am, October 5, 2019, a man, described as wearing a black jacket and black pants, was randomly hitting homeless men in New York City's Chinatown. He reportedly killed at least four.

The victims appeared to be sleeping when the attacks occurred. The first call came from Bowery Street near Doyers Street in Chinatown at about 1:50 a.m. Later, three were found on East Broadway, while another was found on Bowery.

Doyers Street, the heart of NYC's Chinatown

All four were pronounced dead at the scenes, police said. A 24-year-old man, who police also believe is homeless, is in custody and considered a person of interest, named Rodriguez “Randy” Santos, who has 14 past arrests — including an assault charge from May 2019.

A three-foot-long, blood-covered metal object, described as a pipe, was recovered.

The first victim, found neart Mulberry and Canal Streets, around 1:50 a.m., after police responded to reports of an assault and discovered an unconscious man in his 60s lying in the street on Bowery "with severe head trauma." Other victims were found on East Broadway. Three victims on East Broadway and one on Bowery were found deceased.

Please note one of the promotional shots from Joker shows an obvious reference to Gotham City's Chinatown.

In the fall of 2018, Joker used Chinatown as a filming location, especially near East Broadway and Catherine street.
