Times Square Rammer Heard Voices

The name Rojas means "red," and Richard means "powerful." Richard Rojas caused a great flowing of blood on May 18, 2017, in Times Square, New York City.

The Navy veteran, wearing a red shirt, suspected of driving his car into pedestrians in New York reportedly told police he had been hearing voices at the time. Rojas enlisted in the US Navy in 2011 and served on the destroyer USS Carney in 2012.

Richard Rojas, 26, is accused of steering his car onto the pavement in the heart of Times Square, driving for three blocks and hitting 23 pedestrians along the way. One of them - an 18-year-old teenager - died. Identified as Alyssa Elsman of Portage, Michigan, she was killed in the ramming. (A-lyssa = "not insane" + Elsman = "oath to god man.") Her 13-year-old sister was among the injured.

Rojas then ran from his vehicle waving his arms before being tackled by members of the public, including a ticket seller and a security guard at a Planet Hollywood restaurant.

Initially, there were fears the incident had been a terrorist attack but investigators discounted that and are focusing on Rojas's sobriety and mental health.

Rojas' red car.

Rojas, who lived in the Bronx, said he was hearing voices and had expected to die. He tested negative for alcohol but it is understood that he is also undergoing tests while in police custody to see if he had taken drugs.

No terrorism. No OUI, as first reported. Yes, voices.

NY Bombing: Of Chelsea and 23

The Chelsa dumpster has the number 1323 on its side. This is dumpster in which the bomb exploded on 23rd Street. The pressure cooker bomb No. 2 was found on 27th Street.

Let me share a comment from Tom Mellett:

One name for the game and several synchropinquities to note and finally a number coincidence.

The name is of course Chelsea, since the one bomb exploded on 23rd St between 6th and 7th Aves in Manhattan and the second one was discovered on 27th St in the neighborhood of Manhattan known as Chelsea. It might seem too obvious to link the Chelsea neighborhood with the person Chelsea Clinton, but that's where the first close synchropinquity comes in.

You see, Chelsea Clinton lives just 1/3 of a mile from the first blast – as the Google Maps crow flies. In NYC distance reckoning, we speak of blocks, so she lives just 3 blocks north and 2 blocks East of the bomb blast. (My own leeway for a true synchropinquity is a half mile, so she is well within that zone.)
Chelsea herself does not live in Chelsea, but in the area known as the Flatiron District, so named for the iconic Flatiron Building, whose cross section resembles the acute right triangle of the old fashioned flatiron used to iron clothes before the electric steam iron came along. It is located E-W between 5th Ave. and Broadway, and N-S between 22nd and 23rd St, with its sharp point looking north.
Its address 175 5th Ave, New York, NY 10010
Let us now locate the 3 points on the map that, when connected by the Measure Distance tool on Google Maps (Right Click Menu), creates an acute triangle that looks eerily similar to the triangle of the Flatiron Building

[1] site of exploded bomb outside 131 West 23 St., NY, NY 10011
[2] site of unexploded bomb outside 135 West 27 St.NY, NY 10011
[3] Chelsea Clinton's address: 21East 26th St., NY, NY 10010
Finally, the number coincidence is 23.
The bomb blast took place on West 23rd St, just 1/4 mile from the “apex” of the Flatiron Building on East 23rd St.

For starters, I give you the wiki for the “23 enigma,” inspired by the chapter in the Robert Anton Wilson book Cosmic Trigger I: The Final Secret of the Illuminati.

23 is a number associated with the Greek goddess, Eris --- in Latin: Discordia, the goddess of strife and chaos.

PS Almost forgot! Chelsea's home was in the news last week, since her mother Hillary went there in lieu of a hospital ER after her fainting spell at the 9/11 memorial.

Wayne Williams, 33

Wayne Williams

W W

23 23

A business dispute between a Finks bikie (Australian jargon for a motorcycle gang member) and a group of brothers is believed to have been the catalyst for a siege in southwest Sydney, Australia, that ended with two men shot dead and two others injured on March 7, 2016. (In the USA, that day is National Cereal Day.)

Three other hostages escaped unharmed after the six hour ordeal which began when Finks bikie member Wayne Williams, 33, shot three men inside a signage business at Ingleburn at 10:45am.

Williams died by suicide when he shot himself.

Mick Bassal, 43, was killed, and his two brothers were injured when Williams opened fire with a long-arm firearm.

One of the other injured brothers was rushed to Liverpool hospital where he underwent emergency surgery, the other suffered superficial gunshot wounds to the legs. Both remained in a stable condition on Monday evening.

Officers and paramedics rushed to Inline National Signage on the corner of Heald and Stennett roads where a siege situation quickly developed, Australian media noted.

Also in the news lately because of another parol hearing has been another Wayne Williams (born May 27, 1958), who is an alleged American serial killer who was tried, convicted, and sentenced to life imprisonment in 1982 for killing two adult men. After his conviction the Atlanta Police announced that Williams was responsible for at least 23 of the 29 Atlanta murders of 1979–1981, also called the "Atlanta Child Murders." Williams continues to maintain his innocence. (W = 23 again.)

Michael A. Hoffman II raised awareness linking "cereal" killers/murders to "serial" killers.  See here.

Yet another Wayne Williams has been in the news lately because of election news from Colorado. Wayne Williams is an American attorney and politician. A member of the Republican Party, he is the Secretary of State of Colorado.

Intriguingly, Williams grew up in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. His father was the facilities manager of the National Zoo's Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute, where Williams was raised. See "zoo" notes, recently.

Doubleday, Baseball, Charleston, Charles Manson, and Twilight Links

In an early Father's Day celebration, on Sunday, June 14, my son Malcolm took me to a Mets game. I had a wonderful time. Baseball is special.
America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. ~ Field of Dreams
Three days later, on June 17, the Mets were in the news, although events on the same day would overshadow the New York baseball-aligned obituary of the day.

The New York Times' opening paragraphs of the death news told quickly about the connections the deceased had to money, publishing, and baseball:

Nelson Doubleday Jr., who shortly after taking over his family’s publishing business used it in 1980 to buy the lowly New York Mets and put the team on course to win the World Series in 1986, died on Wednesday [June 17,2015] at his home in Locust Valley, N.Y. He was 81.
The cause was pneumonia, his son-in-law John Havens said.
Books and baseball defined Mr. Doubleday’s life. He was the grandson of Frank Nelson Doubleday, who founded the publishing company bearing his name in 1896, and the son of Nelson Doubleday, who built the business into a mass-market powerhouse.
Another Doubleday ancestor was Abner, a great-great-granduncle long credited (erroneously) with inventing the game of baseball. Growing up on the family’s Long Island estate, in Oyster Bay, Nelson Jr. was a passionate baseball fan, following the fortunes of the Brooklyn Dodgers on the radio. Source.
As you know, another incident occurred on Wednesday, June 17. That was the attack on African-Americans in Charleston. We don't need to go into details here, but if you want a refresher, see "There's A Storm Coming: Dylann Storm Roof."

Dylann Storm Roof clearly used highly significant symbols in the digital trail he left investigators to find, including the numbers 4:44, 88, and 23; Nazi imagery (such as the Othala rune - shown below); the Confederate flag; and so forth.

Roof left a ranting, racist manifesto on the internet calling for a new civil war in America before staging his massacre in a church.

But as S.J. Reidhead commented on my earlier Charleston posting, "Abner Doubleday was responsible for the first shot being fired from Fort Sumter."

That's correct, from the Union side, Abner Doubleday was responsible for beginning the Civil War or the War Between the States in response to the Southern forces firing first.

Abner Doubleday (June 26, 1819 – January 26, 1893)...
initially served in coastal garrisons and then in the Mexican–American War from 1846 to 1848 and the Seminole Wars from 1856 to 1858. In 1858 he was transferred to Fort Moultrie in Charleston harbor serving under Colonel John L. Gardner. By the start of the Civil War, he was a captain and second in command in the garrison at Fort Sumter, under Major Robert Anderson. He aimed the cannon that fired the first return shot in answer to the Confederate bombardment on April 12, 1861. He subsequently referred to himself as the "hero of Sumter" for this role.
I've been to Cooperstown with my son's youth baseball championship team, seeing the fame Doubleday has brought to that town, although it is viewed as all myth today.
Although Doubleday achieved minor fame as a competent combat general with experience in many important Civil War battles, he is more widely remembered as the supposed inventor of the game of baseball, in Elihu Phinney's cow pasture in Cooperstown, New York, in 1839.
The Mills Commission, chaired by Abraham G. Mills, the fourth president of the National League, was appointed in 1905 to determine the origin of baseball. The committee's final report, on December 30, 1907, stated, in part, that "the first scheme for playing baseball, according to the best evidence obtainable to date, was devised by Abner Doubleday at Cooperstown, New York, in 1839." It concluded by saying, "in the years to come, in the view of the hundreds of thousands of people who are devoted to baseball, and the millions who will be, Abner Doubleday's fame will rest evenly, if not quite as much, upon the fact that he was its inventor ... as upon his brilliant and distinguished career as an officer in the Federal Army."
However, there is considerable evidence to dispute this claim. Baseball historian George B. Kirsch has described the results of the Mills Commission as a "myth". He wrote, "Robert Henderson, Harold Seymour, and other scholars have since debunked the Doubleday-Cooperstown myth, which nonetheless remains powerful in the American imagination because of the efforts of Major League Baseball and the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown." At his death, Doubleday left many letters and papers, none of which describe baseball, or give any suggestion that he considered himself a prominent person in the evolution of the game. Chairman Mills himself, who had been a Civil War colleague of Doubleday and a member of the honor guard for Doubleday's body as it lay in state in New York City, never recalled hearing Doubleday describe his role as the inventor. Doubleday was a cadet at West Point in the year of the alleged invention and his family had moved away from Cooperstown the prior year. Furthermore, the primary testimony to the commission that connected baseball to Doubleday was that of Abner Graves, whose credibility is questionable; a few years later, he shot his wife to death and was committed to an institution for the criminally insane for the rest of his life. Part of the confusion could stem from there being another man by the same name in Cooperstown in 1839.
Despite the lack of solid evidence linking Doubleday to the origins of baseball, Cooperstown, New York became the new home of what is today the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in 1937. See also here.

Besides the baseball links, Doubleday also was involved in the twilight world of Theosophy. In the summer of 1878, Doubleday lived in Mendham Township, New Jersey, and became a prominent member of the Theosophical Society. When two of the founders of that society, Helena Blavatsky and Henry Steel Olcott, moved to India at the end of that year, he was constituted as the president of the American body. Another prominent member was Thomas A. Edison.

There's another bizarre name game thread going through this Charleston event.

The shooting of Walter L. Scott (February 9, 1965 – April 4, 2015), a 50-year-old black man, occurred on April 4, 2015, in North Charleston, South Carolina, following a daytime traffic stop for a non-functioning brake light. Scott, a black man, was fatally shot by Michael Slager, a white North Charleston police officer. Slager was charged with murder after a video surfaced contradicting his earlier police report. The video showed him shooting the unarmed Scott from behind while Scott was fleeing. In the wake of shootings in Ferguson, Baltimore and other locations, Scott's killing further fueled a national conversation around race and policing.

Cory Panshin added:
I am becoming caught up in recurrences of the name Walter Scott. This started when I went looking in genealogy listings for members of the Roof family in the Columbia or Lexington area (because someone had written online that Dylann Roof's family was Afrikaans, which doesn't seem to be the case.) I found a fair number of them, going back into the early 1800s, including a Walter Scott Roof who was born in 1875. I don't know if he was Dylann's direct ancestor, but he seems pretty likely he was some kind of relative. That one name caught my eye in particular because I've read that the historical novels of Sir Walter Scott had a strong influence on Southern concepts of honor and chivalry and on the founding of the Ku Klux Klan. It made me wonder if the Roof family had a long-standing streak of Confederate romanticization.
...
I also find this New Yorker article noting the coincidence of names between Walter Scott and Sir Walter Scott.
South Carolina is not Missouri—its racial past, in fact, is more violent, but its attempts to move away from that history, while less known, have been more bold. The state’s history of violence against black men and women is excruciating to know, or to read. If you are unfamiliar, then Google “George Junius Stinney, Jr.,” “Julia and Frazier Baker,” the Hamburg massacre, or the Orangeburg massacre. That is South Carolina at its worst. But there is a streak of fair-mindedness in the state’s history—an ancient ideal that Mark Twain parodied as coming straight out of the chivalric fiction of Sir Walter Scott’s mist-filled novels of courtly knights. While reserved exclusively for whites for most of its history, this tendency appears from time to time and is always surprising, especially to outsiders. . . .

Admittedly, it may be hard to make a case, any case, for a South Carolina tradition of fair play. But, as inchoate or feeble as it may be, it is there, and we may be seeing a little bit of South Carolina’s almost romantic longing for true justice in the reaction to this murder victim—whose name, historians of cosmic coincidence should note, is Walter Scott.

Sir Walter Scott, 1st Baronet, FRSE (August 15, 1771 - September 21, 1832) was a Scottish historical novelist, playwright, and poet.

In line with the "race war" motivation behind Dylann Storm Roof's shooting of nine members of Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church, the name of Charles Manson and his similar reasons surfaced in some reports.

Charles Manson, 2014

Charles Milles Manson (born Charles Milles Maddox, November 12, 1934) is an American criminal who led what became known as the Manson Family, a quasi-commune that arose in the California desert in the late 1960s. In 1971 he was found guilty of conspiracy to commit the murders of a total of nine individuals, including seven people: actress Sharon Tate and four other people at Tate's home; and the next day, a married couple, Leno and Rosemary LaBianca; all carried out by members of the group at his instruction.

Charles Manson's biological father apparently was Colonel Walker Scott (born Pike County, Kentucky, May 11, 1910 – December 30, 1954) against whom Kathleen Maddox filed a paternity suit that resulted in an agreed judgment in 1937.

The official records by attorney Vincent Bugliosi in 1971 (who died June 6, 2015) declared that Manson's father, a cook named Scott, was African American. But Manson has emphatically denied that his biological father had African American ancestry.

The Beginning: Cop Killer Copycats?

"This is just the beginning. There are people out there who will want to be copycats. The tension out there is the worst I’ve ever seen it," stated a police officer, who happened to be AfricanAmerican.
In a horrific moment, two New York City police officers were shot "execution-style" and killed December 20, 2014, Saturday afternoon, while in a parked patrol car in Brooklyn, in the Bedford-Stuyvesant area pictured above.

In a somber news conference Saturday evening, New York City Police Commissioner William Bratton said the two officers were deliberately targeted. They were shot directly in their heads.

The officers were killed outside the Tompkins Houses in Bedford-Stuyvesant about 2:45 p.m. Tompkins Avenue is photographed above, as near the site of this slaying. Tompkins is a patronymic form of Thomas, from the nickname Tom, and the added diminutive suffix "- kin," meaning near relative, plus the suffix "-s," itself a short form of "son." Thomas is ultimately of biblical origin, deriving from an aramaic byname meaning "twin," and was borne by one of Christ's disciples, best known for his skepticism about Christ's resurrection. Thus Tompkins means "twin sons" or "son of a twin."

A twin, of course, is literally a copycat.

Bratton acknowledged the danger officers face as part of the "thin blue line between us and anarchy....They were, quite simply, assassinated, targeted for their uniform and the responsibility they embraced," Bratton said. "Both were ambushed and murdered."

Bratton said the attacker approached the officers' vehicle from the passenger side and opened fire, shooting his weapon several times. The officers, Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos, "never had an opportunity to draw their weapons" and were "killed with no warning, no provocation...They may have never even seen their assailant, their murderer," Bratton said.

Officers Ramos and Liu

The suspect, Ismaaiyl Brinsley, 28, fled to a nearby subway station, where he was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Bratton said.

Earlier Saturday, Brinsley (pictured) shot his former girlfriend, injuring her at a Baltimore County, Maryland, residence, Bratton said. Brinsley also posted on the victim's Instagram account, where his comments indicated Brinsley had a "very strong bias against" police, Bratton said.

The Internet postings appear to show Brinsley, who is black, wanted revenge for the deaths of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo., and Eric Garner in Staten Island, N.Y., police said.

Shortly before the shooting, Instagram user "dontrunup" posted a photo of a silver handgun with wooden grips and the caption: "I'm putting wings on pigs today. They take 1 of ours … Let's take 2 of theirs. #shootthepolice #ripericgardner #ripmikebrown This may be my final post … I'm putting pigs in a blanket."

“I’m putting wings on pigs today. They take 1 of ours ... let’s take 2 of theirs,” Brinsley, 28, wrote on Instagram. This alludes to copycatting and twinning, sadly.

The Instagram account is linked to Facebook user named Bleau Barracuda, who police said appears to be Brinsley.

Reports are that Ismaaiyl Brinsley, the gunman, murdered in the name of the Jihad. Ads stating such bias were to be seen in ads on NYC subway clocks, on the waiting platforms. Note this 23 Street location.

A period of police officer shootings occurred in a concentrated fashion, said to be attributed to Black Panthers and the Black Liberation Army, during the 1969-1971 timeframe.

Flight MH17: Twilight Tridents and Noteworthy Numbers

Update: Another Trident. One of the Dutch victims had been a rower for Indiana University - and the logo for UI forms a trident. Karlijn Keijzner was 25, a doctoral student in the chemistry department studying an anti-cancer drug with potential for Alzheimer's treatment.

Read below about what I earlier wrote about tridents abounding in this MH17 story.

∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆

What are the hidden meanings in today's breaking news?

On July 17, 2014, around 10:00 am EDT, Malaysia Airlines Flight Number 17, a Boeing 777 passenger plane from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur crashed in eastern Ukraine.

This plane used for MH17 had its first flight 17 years ago on July 17, 1997, and now is apparently shot down on July 17, 2014. Source.

"Malaysia Airlines has lost contact of MH17 from Amsterdam," the Malaysia Airlines tweeted. "The last known position was over Ukrainian airspace."

An adviser to the Ukraine Interior Minister says separatists shot down the passenger plane with a Russian-made Buk ground-to-air missile system. The separaists in Donetsk admit to using these systems.

There were reportedly 295 people on board (280 passengers and 15 crew) when it crashed in Torez, which is about 25 miles from the Russian border.

There were 23 Americans on the flight, and were no survivors. It appears the plane was filled with tourists on their way to vacation in Bali and other Asian areas. The number 23 seems symbolic.

Some attention is being given to the fact that Malaysia Airlines' logo is a trident.

The coat of arms of Ukraine is a trident.

The significance and foreshadowing that occurred due to the role of tridents was apparent in March.

Blogger Sibyl Hunter saw this in "Follow the Trident."

Then there's the Maserati, as shown here in True Detective
which has as its logo, the trident.

Researcher Satenetas Rotenetor posted the following:
A trident / is a three-pronged spear. It is used for spear fishing and historically as a polearm. The trident is the weapon of Poseidon, or Neptune, the god of the sea in classical mythology. In Hindu mythology it is the weapon of Shiva, known as trishula (Sanskrit for "triple-spear").
The word "trident" comes from the French word trident, which in turn comes from the Latin word tridens or tridentis: tri "three" and dentes "teeth". Sanskrit trishula is compound of tri "three" + "thorn".
The Greek equivalent is (tríaina), from Proto-Greek trianja (threefold).
The trident in the Coat of Arms of Ukraine is known as Tryzub , the literal translation of "trident". Source/Wikipedia.
In Hindu mythology, SHIVA is the God of destruction.
TRIDENTS everywhere..........
The first Trident warned us they would strike when least expected:

Logo of Maserati is a trident.

Rotenetor also noted:
1. Here you have your warning, the Super Bowl, Maserati. TRIDENT

2. The symbol on the tail of a Malaysian aircraft. TRIDENT

3. The UKRAINE coat of arms. TRIDENT.

4. Just erected last night on the 9/11 memory site.double TRIDENT.

5. The fuzzy satelite image / China sent Americans
on a wild goose chase to see if they would follow orders.
9/11 written on it.

6. A combined pre planned UN/NATO exercise will take place
in the Ukraine in JULY called Rapid TRIDENT
...

To read more, such as this plane being a 777 (a trident), see here.

A three-fingered hand salute is sometimes used to mimic the Tryzub; as for example in pro-independence demonstrations in the late 1980s and in the logo of the (Ukrainian) Svoboda party. Above, a man at the Euromaidan, doing the fascist Svoboda salute, surrounded by the flags of Svoboda, and in the background of EU and UPA.

The three-finger salute from the Hunger Games.

I just wrote about the hand sign that Cassidy Stay did at the public memorial service for her family, after the Spring, Texas, mass shooting. The three-finger salute is different, but the sync is worthy of noting.

Synchromysticism haunts the event of MH17.

As the Red Dirt Report's Andrew W. Griffin's commentary reminded me, today is the exact anniversary - 18 years ago – to the day – that TWA 800 was blown out of the sky. Also, brought to mind is the fate of Korean Air Lines Flight 007 being shot down by a Soviet jet on September 1, 1983.

Other situations like this have happened before:
April 20, 1978: Korean Airlines Flight 902, which diverted from its planned course on a flight from Paris to Seoul and strayed over the Soviet Union.
After being fired upon by an interceptor aircraft, the crew made a forced landing at night on the surface of a frozen lake. Two of the 97 passengers were killed by the hostile fire.
September 1, 1983: Korean Air Lines Flight 007 shot down by at least one Soviet air-to-air missile after the 747 had strayed into Soviet airspace. All 240 passengers and 29 crew were killed.
July 3, 1988: Iran Air Flight 655 Aircraft was shot down by a surface to air missile from the American naval vessel U.S.S. Vincennes. All 16 crew and 274 passengers were killed.

In Russian history, let us recall these moments:

On July 17, 1762, Catherine II becomes the Tsar of Russia upon the murder of Peter III of Russia.

On July 17, 1918, Tsar Nicholas II of Russia and his immediate family and retainers are murdered by Bolshevik Chekists at the Ipatiev House in Yekaterinburg, Russia.

I will update this report as this story unfolds, and others weigh in with lexilinks, connections, and sync. Your comments are welcome.

Cosmic Trigger in Indiana: 23s at 2:30 am

The 23 phenomenon is strong in this one, grasshoppers. There was a shooting in which 7 people were injured in Broad Ripple.

Was it a ripple in the cosmic trigger of our realities? Or did the cosmic trigger go off in a name game involving Broad Ripple.

For some background on this 23 weirdness, see my Boing Boing contribution, "RAW Week: 23 Skidoo + 5 -- Robert Anton Wilson Again, By Loren Coleman." Wilson died 7 years ago.

Broad Ripple Village is one of six areas designated as cultural districts in Indianapolis, Indiana. Located about six miles north of Downtown Indianapolis, Broad Ripple was established in 1837 as an independent municipality and annexed to the city of Indianapolis in 1922. The neighborhood has a reputation for being socially, economically, and ethnically diverse and is thus generally associated with its vibrant social scene and progressive political attitudes. The area is where talk show host David Letterman, astronaut David Wolf and social activist author Dan Wakefield (Going All the Way, 1970) grew up.

Broad Ripple's position as a cornerstone of Indianapolis youth culture and nightlife is a result of its thriving bar scene and the near presence of Butler University. Staying true to the neighborhood motto "we're open if you are," numerous Broad Ripple bars and restaurants remain open as late as 3am - often on weekdays as well as weekends.
The shooting that injured seven people in Broad Ripple began at 2:30, near the intersection of Broad Ripple and Carrolton avenue. It seems to have began as an argument between two individuals, with bystanders being hit, "rather than a target mass shooting," Indianapolis Police's Troy Riggs said.
Several police were on duty in the area, and immediately went to the aid of the victims.
"They were making tourniquets, acting as professionally as can be expected," Riggs said.
As the officers gave aid, one man carrying a gun was seen trying to put a .45-caliber Bersa into a car. Lawrence Jones, 23, Indianapolis, was preliminarily charged with possession of a handgun without a license. But police do not consider him a suspect in the shooting, though they will continue to probe that possibility.
Otherwise, Riggs said, police have no solid leads or firm descriptions of the gunman.

What is remarkable is how often the number "23" comes up in this 2:30 am shooting.

Six men and one woman were injured in the shooting. Dontay Harris, 23, Indianapolis, was the most seriously injured, and was taken to St. Vincent Hospital in critical condition. The other victims had "non-life threatening" injuries, said IMPD Lt. Christopher Bailey.
The other injured were listed in a police report as:
Antell Garnett, 23, Indianapolis, was sent to Eskenazi Health.
Duran Simmons, 23, Indianapolis, taken to Eskenazi.
Betty Jean Antwi, 23, Fishers., went to Methodist Hospital.
Joshua Kyner, 26, Indianapolis, refused treatment but later drove himself to Community East Hospital for stitches.
Marcus Clayton, 23, Indianapolis, status not clear.
Stacy Lamont Griffin, 23, Indianapolis, went to Methodist Hospital.

The Indianapolis Star, nevertheless, called it a mass shooting, in the context of listing it with other "mass shootings" in the area. Source.
This was the second mass shooting in Broad Ripple in the last year. On Aug. 2, a 26-year-old Westfield man shot four people following an altercation at a bar in the 6200 block of N. College.
...
In another public mass shooting, 17-year-old Shamus Patton fired into crowds at two Downtown locations on July 17, 2010, striking nine victims ages 10 to 19. Patton was thought to be a member of the Ratchetz Boyz street gang in the Martindale-Brightwood area, and some of his shots appeared to be directed at rival gang members.
...
Less than a month after the downtown shooting, eight people were shot in the 1200 block of West 32th Street. Two people who had been attending a birthday party were killed in that shooting. Witnesses said a man stepped out of a car in front of a house, put on a black ski mask and sprayed the house and its front yard and backyard with up to 30 rounds from an assault rifle. The carnage left 54-year-old Charles Mays, Indianapolis, dead of a gunshot wound in the front yard, next to a bicycle he used to try to flee the barrage of bullets. In the backyard, Barbara Johnson, 37, was fatally shot in the back as she ran away along with about 40 other guests at the birthday party and barbecue.
Indianapolis also has been plagued in recent years by violence as large crowds gather to celebrate the Fourth of July.
In 2013, 16-year-old Monquize Edwards was fatally shot on a packed Downtown street after the July 4 celebration. Police found Edwards' body at Maryland and Meridian streets after the fireworks show.
Eron Bonner, 18, Indianapolis is charged in the shooting. Witnesses told police they saw Edwards and Bonner face off on the streets. Moments later, a witness saw Bonner pull out his gun and then saw that Edwards had been shot, according to a probable cause affidavit. Both teen were believed to be members of two rival gangs: Bonner of the Grimmie Boyz and Edwards of the Homicide Goonz.
In 2011, two teens were shot Downtown after the fireworks show. A third teenager reported to police that he was beaten by a group of men near the Downtown Canal. And in a fourth incident, a report of shots fired near the Downtown Hyatt Regency sent dozens of people into a parking garage, scrambling for cover.

Fayette Factor: Hurricane's Name Game

Rubin "Hurricane" Carter died on April 20, 2014. He was born on May 6, 1937, became an American middleweight boxer, was convicted of murder and later was freed via a petition of habeas corpus after spending almost 20 years in prison.

A book by Carter, a movie starring Denzel Washington as Carter, and a Bob Dylan song/album made this acknowledged troubled individual famous.
To understand Rubin Carter one must explore two different sides of his history. The split is between that of a psychopath killer (see here and here) and a racially mistreated prisoner (see here and here). I am not going to debate or even come down on one side or the other about the real man behind who the Hurricane might have been. There is a media creation and there is the man. Someone else can judge who that man may have been.

I merely want to briefly point out an incredible synchromystical overlapping of special names in Rubin Carter's history.

The various biographies, obituaries, and articles on Rubin Carter point out that "police arrested both Carter and friend John Artis for a triple-homicide in the Lafayette Bar and Grill in Paterson, New Jersey."

The date, June 17, 1966.

The time of the crime, 2:30 am.

The Lafayette Bar and Grill is located at 428 East 18th Street and the corner of Lafayette Street. 4+2+8+1+8 = 23.

No wonder The Last SHE has such a strong reaction to this "coincidence."

Another important name in the scenario is a form of Bell. See "The Bell Name."

Petty criminal Alfred Bello, who had been near the Lafayette that night to burglarize a factory, was an eyewitness. Bello later testified that he was approaching the Lafayette when two black males—one carrying a shotgun, the other a pistol—came around the corner walking towards him. He ran from them, and they got into a white car that was double-parked near the Lafayette.

1. The getaway car is park alongside the Lafayette Grill.
2. Bello heads to the bar to buy cigarettes and...
3. Confronts the two gunmen as they leave. He runs down the street as the car pulls away. Pat Valentine, another important eyewitness, sees its distinctive taillights from her second floor window above the bar.

Both Alfred Bello and Valentine were allegedly able to describe the distinctive tail lights of Carter’s white car in considerable detail.

Therefore comes forth another significant name, Valentine.

Why has the history of this one murder scene magnetically created a synchromystic name game tied to Rubin Carter? No one knows.

This curious moment in history has certainly mushroomed into a cultural event beyond what anyone could have imagined in 1966, that is for certain.
