Lafayette Square, Druid Hill Park, and the Masonic Name Game Continues

Lafayette Square Again

On June 22, 2020, protesters defaced the statue of Andrew Jackson in Lafayette Square, Washington D.C., as they attempted to topple it outside the White House.

The Jackson statue remained on its pedestal. Videos posted on Twitter and other social media showed that the protesters had climbed on the statue and tied ropes around it, then tried to pull it off its pedestal.

When asked about reports of pepper spray being used in Lafayette Park, a National Park Service spokesperson told NBC News: "I am still gathering information, but it is accurate that pepper spray was used to disengage the protesters from the statue and clear the area."

Interior Secretary David L. Bernhardt said in a statement that he had just left the scene at Lafayette Square "where another so called 'peaceful protest' led to destruction tonight. Let me be clear: we will not bow to anarchists. Law and order will prevail, and justice will be served."
Jackson was a Tennessee slaveholder and signed a law that led to the expulsion of Native Americans east of the Mississippi River in which they were forcibly moved west by the federal government. According to the Library of Congress, about 4,000 Cherokees died on the march which became known as the "Trail of Tears."
Trump has previously expressed admiration for Jackson, who was a populist, including during a visit to the Hermitage, the seventh president’s plantation in 2017. According to the Hermitage, Jackson owned about 150 slaves at the time of his death. NBC News.

On the morning of June 23, 2020, President Trump talked about the "attack on the Andrew Jackson statue in Lafayette Square" as he was on his way to board a helicopter to go to Arizona to inspect the "wall." He said he was going to sign an executive order protecting statues and monuments later.

Druid Hill Park

In Baltimore, on June 21, 2020, a statue and memorial to George Washington in a city park were vandalized with red paint. The Baltimore Sun reports that the memorial in Druid Hill Park in northwest Baltimore also had the words “Destroy Racists” and the initials for the Black Lives Matter movement written on the base.

Druid Hill Park is a 745-acre (3.01 km2) urban park in northwest Baltimore, Maryland. Its boundaries are marked by Druid Park Drive (north), Swann Drive and Reisterstown Road (west and south), and the Jones Falls Expressway / Interstate 83 (east).

Inaugurated in 1860, under the administration of city Mayor Thomas Swann, Druid Hill Park ranks with Central Park (begun in 1858) in New York City, Fairmount Park (1812) in Philadelphia and Golden Gate Park in San Francisco as the oldest landscaped public parks in the United States.

The land was originally part of "Auchentorlie," the estate of Dr George Buchanan (1696–1750), one of the seven commissioners responsible for the 1729 establishment of Baltimore Town, which was laid out by the commissioners the following year. Buchanan's country estate northwest of the town, and on the west bank and overlooking the Jones Falls stream running south to "The Basin" (today's Inner Harbor) of the Northwest Branch of the Patapsco River and future Port of Baltimore, included 579 of the 745 acres that comprise Druid Hill Park today. Renamed "Druid Hill" by War of 1812 Colonel Nicholas Rogers (1753-1822), and then his son War of 1812 veteran (September 20, 1788 - November 12, 1860)  who married Eleanor Buchanan, it was purchased in 1860 by the City of Baltimore from family descendant Lloyd Rogers.

August 4, 1753, George Washington, a young Virginia planter, becomes a Master Mason, the highest basic rank in the secret fraternity of Freemasonry. The ceremony was held at the Masonic Lodge No. 4 in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Washington was 21 years old and would soon command his first military operation as a major in the Virginia colonial militia.

A druid was a member of the high-ranking class in ancient Celtic cultures. Perhaps best remembered as religious leaders, they were also legal authorities, adjudicators, lorekeepers, medical professionals, and political advisors.

Firework and Sirens

Fireworks are reported going off in cities throughout the USA. Police sirens and ambulances sirens going up and down Harlem's streets in parades at 3 AM. What's going on? (See video here.)

Cities across the US are experiencing a boom in the use of fireworks, with pyrotechnic-related complaints in New York City alone jumping 236 times higher than usual during the first three weeks of June.
Gothamist reported there were 6,385 calls to police about fireworks from 1 to 19 June, compared to 27 in the same period last year.
The New York Times attributed the spike in explosions to, “a release after months of boredom and seclusion in cramped apartments,” as well as “a celebration of hard-fought strides made during the demonstrations, and a show of defiance toward the police.” Other than sparklers, fireworks are illegal in New York.

Police in Hartford, Connecticut, who said they had been getting around 200 complaints each day about fireworks, called on people to be mindful of “those with PTSD, babies, children, elderly, & pets”.
Police in Salem, Boston, have started patrolling for fireworks after complaints increased 2,000%, CBS Boston reported.
In Pasadena, California, fireworks-related complaints have increased 400% in June, CBS Los Angeles reported, and last week, the LA County sheriff’s department seized a truckload of illegal fireworks valued at $10,000. The Guardian

The author Robert Jones Jr., in a tweet thread that received tens of thousands of retweets, proposed that the fireworks were “a coordinated attack on Black and Brown communities by government forces; an attack meant to disorient and destabilize the #BlackLivesMatter movement,”he wrote.

The George Floyd Protests Continue

Since the coincidental viral sharing of the murder of George Floyd of May 25, 2020, and the History Channel's three-day telecast of Grant beginning on May 25, 2020, much has occurred.

The death of Fayetteville-born George Floyd exposed widespread police brutality in the US. Footage of the tear gassing of peaceful demonstrators in Lafayette Square were shared as hundreds of American cities were rocked by protests, uprisings, and demonstrations.

#BlackLivesMatter, in the wake of Floyd's "I Can't Breathe" killing, was re-born.

Trump's "plan" to hold his first rally in Tulsa was changed, and social change kept happening.

Corporate America, in the wake of their awakenings overnight from June 16 to June 17, 2020, said "Goodbye to Aunt Jemima, Uncle Ben, Cream of Wheat's Rastus," Mrs. Butterworth's, and more.

Citing the “horrific racist imagery associated with the phrase,” the University of Florida will no longer use the popular “Gator Bait” chant during athletic events, school president Kent Fuchs announced on Thursday, June 18, 2020. There are numerous references that have cited that African American babies were used as alligator bait.

And finally, on June 19, 2020, Dreyer's announced that it would change the "Eskimo Pie" brand name and marketing, saying the term is "derogatory." Eskimo pies were the brand name of a vanilla ice cream product dipped in chocolate. "Eskimo" has been criticized as a racist name for Arctic indigenous peoples such as the Inuit and Yupik.

Statues Topple Around the World

On Sunday, June 7, 2020, slave trader Edward Colston's statue in Bristol, England, was torn down and thrown into the harbor during a second day of anti-racism protests across the UK. Colston was a member of the Royal African Company, which transported about 80,000 men, women and children from Africa to the Americas. On his death in 1721, he bequeathed his wealth to charities and his legacy can still be seen on Bristol's streets, memorials and buildings, the British media noted.

Statues of Confederate generals and soldiers were removed officially or by crowds of activists, coast to coast. Then around the globe, demonstrators and protesters began to take down slavery suppliers, colonial figures, and other statues and monuments representing repression. 

A shift in the US from specifically just Confederate statues to others that stood for colonialism appeared to center on Juneteenth, June 19, 2020. The last most significant demonstration on Juneteenth, was the toppling and symbolic burning of the Albert Pike statue in Washington D.C. Although Pike was a Brigadier General in the Confederacy, and was the only outside statue in D.C. of a Confederate, that statue was not dedicated to his role in the Civil War. Pike as an influential figure in the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, was the reason for the statue. Pike strong ties in the Masonic tradition may have save the statue in the past, but the figure toppled in 15 minutes on Juneteenth 2020.

Statues fell, flags with Confederate symbols came down, portraits of house speakers who served in the Confederacy were removed from the U.S. Congress. Venerable brands, which have long used labels such as Aunt Jemima and Uncle Ben’s, announced an end to faces on food boxes and bottles that were born in racist stereotypes. Longtime companies that worked with slavers and profited from them, such as Lloyds’ of London, apologized to the Black community and promised to make amends.
Are these moves, prompted by the nationwide protests over the police killing of George Floyd and so many others, just the leading edge of overdue changes in America and abroad? ~ National Geographic June 22, 2020.

Other statues beyond those of the Confederacy also were toppled.

San Francisco's Christopher Columbus stands near the Coit Tower.

Christopher Columbus statues were beheaded in Boston on June 10.  On June 10, in Richmond, Virginia, a statue of Christopher Columbus was taken down and thrown into a nearby lake. Protesters in Miami vandalized the statues of Christopher Columbus and Juan Ponce de Leon on June 10, spray painting a hammer and sickle, Black Lives Matter fists and more. Miami Police arrested seven suspects. Also on June 10, protesters tore down a statue of Columbus outside the state Capitol in St. Paul, Minnesota. In Pittsburgh, a statue of Christopher Columbus was vandalized on June 12. It was reportedly vandalized multiple times before the recent protests. In Providence, Rhode Island, a school teacher and two others were arrested after they allegedly vandalized a statue of Columbus on June 13. California state lawmakers announced on June 17 that statues of Christopher Columbus and Queen Isabella would be removed from the Capitol rotunda.

The George Washington statue in Washington Park, Chicago, was found vandalized on June 14. The statue could be seen spray painted, and it had a white hood placed on its head.

In San Francisco's Golden Gate Park along the Pacific Ocean, protesters sprayed red paint and wrote "slave owner" on pedestals before using ropes to bring down the statues and drag them down grassy slopes amid cheers and applause.
The statues targeted included a bust of Ulysses Grant, who was the U.S. president after he was the general who finally beat the Confederates and ended the Civil War.
Protesters pointed out that Grant and his family owned slaves. He married into a slave-owning family, but he had no problem fighting to end slavery. [Left out is that Grant freed his "inherited" due to marriage slave and was raised in an abolition family who disapproved of slavery. Source: Grant History series.]
Also torn down in the San Francisco park was a statue of Francis Scott Key, who wrote the U.S. national anthem "Star Spangled Banner." Key owned slaves. Source.

Other developments

“The world does not need statues, relics of another age, that reflect neither the values of the person they intend to honor nor the values of equality and justice,” said Theodore Roosevelt IV, a great-grandson of the 26th president, said in a statement approving the removal of the Teddy Roosevelt statue in front of the American Museum of Natural History, New York City.

 According to the New York Times:

The bronze statue of Theodore Roosevelt, on horseback and flanked by a Native American man and an African man, which has presided over the entrance to the American Museum of Natural History in New York since 1940, is coming down.
The decision, proposed by the museum and agreed to by New York City, which owns the building and property, came after years of objections from activists and at a time when the killing of George Floyd has initiated an urgent nationwide conversation about racism.
For many, the equestrian statue at the museum’s Central Park West entrance has come to symbolize a painful legacy of colonial expansion and racial discrimination.

According to CNN:

The city of Columbus, Ohio, has already vowed to bring down its statue of Christopher Columbus. 

But thousands are hoping to erase the city's connection to Columbus' legacy even further by renaming it Flavortown in honor of Columbus native Guy Fieri.

This is not a joke.

The main proponent of these Columbus moves is 32-year-old Mayor Andrew J. Ginther.

Meanwhile, in the Pacific Northwest, while a Washington statue was pulled down in Portland, Seattle's Lenin statue remains. The Statue of Lenin in Seattle, a 16 ft tall bronze statue of Communist revolutionary Vladimir Lenin, by Bulgarian sculptor Emil Venkov, is the focus of questions about why it still stands.

The Twilight Zone Visits Twilight Lane

Sometimes when you venture into the Twilight Language you end up in the Twilight Zone. Here is one, thanks to news tip from J. Lenski, that is filled with the Name Game names of Lewis, Logan, and Twilight Lane. "Lewis," in its most elementary meaning, is the "son of a Freemason." I've been talking of "Logan" as a power name since before 1983. In Gaelic the meaning of the name Logan is "from the hollow." In Scottish, the meaning is sometimes translated as "Finnian's servant." The Scottish meaning of MacClennan is: Son of Finnian's servant. Finnian is the Irish Anglicized form of Gaelic Finnén, Finnian meaning "little white one."

The 2019 case includes an unknown woman who said she was a "devil" and her eyes said to be completely black, like saucers. She was heard laughing hysterically.

This all occurred in Chesterfield County, Virginia. On 25 May 1749, the Virginia House of Burgesses separated Chesterfield from Henrico County and created the new county. The first county seat was established at Chesterfield Court House. It has continued as county seat except for 1870–1876, during Reconstruction, when the county government was located at Manchester. The latter community has been subsumed by South Richmond.

The legislature named the county for the former British Secretary of State, Philip Stanhope, 4th Earl of Chesterfield (pictured above). Lord Chesterfield was famous for his "good manners and writings". One of his most frequently used sayings implies avoiding rudeness; "An injury is much sooner forgotten than an insult." Many years later, Chesterfield Cigarettes were named after this county. This is former tobacco country.

Chesterfield cigarettes were the favorites of Rod Serling, the creator and host of The Twilight Zone.

[Serling, who had a small body frame at 5' 4", was said to smoke 3-4 packs of cigarettes a day. On May 3, 1975, he had a minor heart attack and was hospitalized. He spent two weeks at Tompkins County Community Hospital before being released. A second heart attack two weeks later forced doctors to agree that open-heart surgery, though considered risky at the time, was required. The ten-hour-long procedure was performed on June 26, but Serling had a third heart attack on the operating table and died two days (on June 28, 1975) later at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York. He was 50 years old.]

"Chester" + "Field" is from a surname that originally belonged to a person who came from Chester, an old Roman settlement in Britain. The name of the settlement came from Latin castrum "camp, fortress". The ancestry of the name Field dates from the ancient Anglo-Saxon culture of Britain. It comes from when the family lived in the area that was near a field. This surname is a topographic name and is derived from the Old English word feld, which literally means the "pasture or open country."

The Incident

A Chesterfield [Virginia] family spoke with 8News on Friday (July 5, 2019) after fending off a naked intruder who broke into their home on South Twilight Lane [on] the night [of the 4th]. The intruder claimed to be the devil and attacked the family, prompting the homeowner to fire 39 rounds.

Melissa Lewis recalls the encounter. "She looked possessed," Lewis says.

The incident was a traumatic experience for the Lewis family’s first night in their brand new home.
“She was in to kill us,” Melissa Lewis said, “that was her almighty, to kill us. She attacked us and I held her down just kept on punching her and punching her as hard as I possibly could.”
The Lewis’ dream home now looks like a war zone, with blood soaked into the carpet, the walls and windows riddled with bullets and shell casings scattered all over.
“I said ‘who are you?” Lewis’ husband, who did not wish to go on camera, explained. “She said ‘I need your help, please help me.’ I said ‘get out of my house,’ and she goes ‘I’m the devil.’”
The homeowner says the woman, who had a blue ponytail, broke into the basement around 10:30 p.m. on July 4. The family said she was laughing menacingly and refused to leave.
“She looked possessed, her eyes were completely black, like saucers, and she was laughing like it was a joke,” Lewis’s husband told 8News.
Fearing for his life, the father of three grabbed his pistol and gave a verbal warning to the woman. With his family sleeping upstairs, he opened fire on the intruder. Lewis said the woman aggressively charged at him with superhuman strength.
“She was not stopping,” he said. “She had the strength of four grown men.”
When he ran out of bullets, Lewis began throwing furniture at her. His wife and children eventually jumped in and attempted to stop the woman. The intruder didn’t stop until one of the children, the Lewis’ 12-year-old son Logan, shoved a wrench into her neck.

Blood stains were evidence of the encounter, and photographs were taken. 

Police arrested the intruder and she is being treated and evaluated at the hospital. The Lewis family left with bruises and bite marks. Detectives told the family that the suspect lives nearby and will eventually be charged robbery, breaking and entering and attempted murder. She is currently in the ICU with severe head trauma. Source.

Monsters and Pike Counties

Missouri

Pike County is a county on the eastern border of the U.S. state of Missouri, bounded by the Mississippi River. As of the 2010 census, the population was 18,516. Its county seat is Bowling Green. Its namesake was a city in middle Kentucky, a region from where many early migrants came. The county was organized December 14, 1818, and named for explorer Zebulon Pike. The folksong "Sweet Betsy from Pike" is generally thought to be associated with Pike County, Missouri.

Pike County is said to be the home of Momo (The Missouri Monster). The first reported sightings by the Terry Harrison family, in the 1970s, were traced to various locations throughout the county, especially at Louisiana, Missouri. During 2019, the film production company of Small Town Monsters has released MOMO: The Missouri Monster.

The melodrama that unfolded at Louisiana, Missouri, continued in 2010, regarding the kidnapping of Alisa Maier ~ a granddaughter of the Harrison family. (See here and here.)

Pike County (next to Lincoln County) is well-known for Bigfoot and UFO sightings.

Kentucky

Pike County is a county located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. As of the 2010 census, the population was 65,024. Its county seat is Pikeville. The county was founded in 1821. Pike County was founded on December 19, 1821. The county was named for General Zebulon Pike, the explorer who discovered Pikes Peak. Between 1860 and 1891 the Hatfield-McCoy feud raged in Pike and in bordering Mingo County, West Virginia. On May 6, 1893, Pikeville officially became a city and the county seat.

Hellier is an unincorporated community and coal town in Pike County, Kentucky, United States. A post office was established in the community in 1906, and named for Ralph Augustus Hellier, the head of a Pike County coal mining company.

Hellier was featured in an independent documentary called Hellier. It is a five part series that follows the investigation and research of the Kentucky goblins. Dana & Greg Newkirk, owners of The Travelling Museum of the Paranormal and the Occult, lead the investigation, along with Conner James Randall and Karl Pfieffer.

Georgia

The famed 1997 Elkins Creek cast is well-known in the Bigfoot community. It was found in Pike County, Georgia. 

According to Cliff Barackman, of the five prints found, the track from which "the cast was obtained [was found] near Double Bridges Road. Elkins Creek is over 8 miles to the north of this road, but apparently in between these two locations are thick woods and not much else. It seems that the southern border of Pike County more or less follows the course of Elkins Creek, so it can be reasonably assumed that it was found somewhere along that stretch north of Sprewell Bluff State Park and Wildlife Management Area."

Ohio

Pike County is a county located in the Appalachian region of the U.S. state of Ohio. As of the 2010 census, the population was 28,709. Its county seat is Waverly. The county is named for explorer Zebulon Pike.

In the Winter of 1987, near a trailer on Chenoweth Fork Road, there was "A tale of a Bigfoot sighting in Pike County," Ohio.

Clinton: Four Dead in Mississippi

Clinton, Mississippi police were called to Foxhill Drive around 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning, February 16, 2019, following reports of a domestic disturbance at the residence. The situation soon escalated as officers received gunfire from the suspect when they arrived.

Law enforcement officers, over 50 in number, surrounded the house, as a hostage situation developed. At 11 a.m., children were released. At 12:30 p.m., gunfire was heard inside the home. About 90 minutes later, police discovered four people were dead. And they soon arrested the gunman. 

No identifying information has been released yet. (Watch for updates.)

This incident happened a day after the mass shooting in Aurora, Illinois, which left five employees of Henry Pratt Co. dead and six police officers injured. (See Aurora Effect Again.)

Clinton Name Game

The name Clinton is an English name, with a meaning that is: "Settlement on a hill," or "from the headland estate."

In the United States, historically, most place names given the name "Clinton" are due to DeWitt Clinton. His role in the construction of the Erie Canal created accessible Eastern seaboard markets for Midwestern agriculture and he was widely admired by settlers, especially those hailing from New York. Some of these places may have been named for both DeWitt Clinton and his uncle George Clinton, the fourth vice president in the USA, an important figure in the founding of the United States.

Freemason and Society of the Cincinnati Member

DeWitt Clinton (March 2, 1769 – February 11, 1828) was an American politician and naturalist who served as a United States Senator, Mayor of New York City and sixth Governor of New York. In this last capacity, he was largely responsible for the construction of the Erie Canal. Clinton was a major candidate for the American presidency in the election of 1812, challenging incumbent James Madison.

Clinton was a York Rite Freemason. He founded the New York Free School Society, forerunner of the public school system of education established in 1842 and also offered a $1000 reward for information on William Morgan during the (anti-Masonic) Morgan Affair (d. 1826).

He was initiated in the "Holland" Lodge No. 16 (now No 8), NY on September 3, 1790, and in 1806 he was elected Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of New York Clinton was essential in establishing the Grand Encampment of Knights Templar in the United States, serving as its first, second, and third Grand Master from 1816-1828.. He retained this title until his death in 1828.

In 1813, Clinton became a hereditary member of the New York Society of the Cincinnati in succession to his brother, Lieutenant Alexander Clinton, who was an original member of the society. Each officer may be represented by only one descendant at any given time, following the rules of primogeniture.

The concept of the Society of the Cincinnati was that of Major General Henry Knox. The first meeting of the Society was held in May 1783 at a dinner at Mount Gulian (Verplanck House) in Fishkill, New York, before the British evacuation from New York City. The meeting was chaired by Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Hamilton, and the participants agreed to stay in contact with each other after the war. Membership was generally limited to officers who had served at least three years in the Continental Army or Navy; it included officers of the French Army and Navy above certain ranks.

George Washington was elected the first President General of the Society. He served from December 1783 until his death in 1799. The second President General was Alexander Hamilton.

The Society of the Cincinnati continues to the present, and some call it "George Washington's secret society."

A specially commissioned [Society of the Cincinnati] "Eagle" worn by President General George Washington was presented to Marquis de Lafayette in 1824 during his grand tour of the United States. This badge remained in possession of the Lafayette family until sold at auction on December 11, 2007, for 5.3 million USD by Lafayette's great-great granddaughter. Together with what are believed to be the original ribbon and red leather box, the badge was purchased by the Josée and René de Chambrun Foundation for display in Lafayette's bedroom at Chateau La Grange, his former home, thirty miles east of Paris; it may also be displayed at Mount Vernon, Washington's former home in Virginia. This was one of three eagles known to have been owned by Washington, who most often wore the "diamond eagle," a diamond-encrusted badge given him by the French matelots (sailors). That diamond eagle continues to be passed down to each President General of the Society of the Cincinnati as part of his induction into office.

The Cincinnati Eagle is displayed in various places of public importance, including in Fountain Square in Cincinnati (named for the Society), Ohio, alongside the American and municipal flags. The flag of the Society displays blue and white stripes and a dark blue canton (containing a circle of 14 stars around the Cincinnati Eagle, representing the fourteen subsidiary societies, one each in the thirteen original States and France) in the upper corner next to the hoist.

The mass shooting in Cincinnati's Fountain Square on September 6, 2018, caused some re-examination of the links between mass violence and mounds. Others have noted a connection between mounts and the Society of the Cincinnati.

Examples of Clinton in the news

The media-driven violence often pinpoints suicides and shootings in Clinton locations, just as they do with Fayette sites.

Almost exactly a year ago, on February 19, 2018, a "Clinton" location was the site of a dramatic suicide. A 26-year-old woman jumped from the 28th floor of a 39-story Hell’s Kitchen building at 6:50 a.m.. The woman, whose name was not released, plummeted from Clinton Towers on W. 54th St. at 11th Ave. and died at the scene.

Stephen Paddock, the Las Vegas mass murderer, was born in Clinton, Iowa. On October 1, 2017, the death toll was 58 people being killed, over 500 injured. Police report the gunman, Stephen Paddock, 64, of Mesquite, Nevada, who was holded up on the 32th floor in the Mandalay Hotel, died by suicide.

Aurora Effect Again

At 2:23 p.m., February 15, 2019, City of Aurora officials confirmed an active shooter and Aurora police were on the scene at 641 Archer Road, an industrial area approximately 40 miles from Chicago, Illinois. Officials would later confirm the incident happened at Henry Pratt Co., a manufacturing firm.

Five plus the shooter are dead. The gunman was 45-year-old Gary Martin. Martin’s sister said he had been laid off from his job two weeks ago and was battling with deep depression. The meeting he was attending on Friday, February 15th, was being held to terminate him.

The victims were identified as Trevor Wehner, 21, of DeKalb; Vicente Juarez, 54, of Oswego; Clayton Parks, 32, of Elgin; Josh Pinkard, 37 of Oswego; and Russell Beyer, 47, of Yorkville. All five were employed by Henry Pratt Co.

Aurora police Chief Kristen Ziman (Ziman from Siman from "heard" or "as heard by God") said the officers wounded while responding to the scene of the shooting were recovering and another victim was being treated at a hospital for non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. Ziman's new conference appearances have been much different than the usual law enforcement briefing because she has been expressive and appreciative about the good energy being sent the way of the injured officers.

The new governor of Illinois J. B. Pritzker said of the Aurora, Illinois shooting: "There are no words for the kind of evil that robs our neighbors of their hopes, their dreams and their futures."

After the Aurora, Colorado shooting in 2012, Colorado's Governor John Hickenlooper called it an "act of evil."

Lucifer ("light-bringer") was a Latin name for the planet Venus as the morning star in the ancient Roman era, and is often used for mythological and religious figures associated with the planet....Interpretations of a similar term in the Hebrew Bible, translated in the King James Version as "Lucifer," led to a Christian tradition of applying the name Lucifer and its associated stories of a fall from heaven to Satan.

As a name for the morning star, "Lucifer" is a proper name and is capitalized in English. In Greco-Roman civilization the morning star was often personified and considered a god and in some versions considered a son of Aurora (the Dawn). Source.

The Aurora shooting occurred at 641 Archer Avenue. 

The former site of the Argonne National Laboratory and its predecessor, the University of Chicago Metallurgical Laboratory in the forest preserve near Red Gate Woods, can be entered from an access road on Archer Avenue. The Argonne National Lab is one of the inspirations for the science fiction program Stranger Things.

The site is also close to a Lincoln park. Another power name.

At 3:02 p.m., officials confirmed the shooter had been apprehended. Law enforcement sources at 3:45 p.m. confirmed the shooter was dead.

Five officers had been shot during the active shooter incident. Several plant workers were injured.

The syncs in the shooting keep piling up.

Gary Martin

“Quiet. Keeps to himself,” said Jennifer White, who lived nearby, of the gunman. “He kept to himself. Normal guy. He was pretty nice. It was a surprise.” She said he lived alone and was “always by himself…which is kinda weird.” The shooter lived at Acorn Woods Condominiums in Aurora. She told CBS Chicago that he had drones and “would wave at us or stare at us. Kinda creepy.”

His neighbors connected the dots. Jennifer White said she realized what was going on with Martin when she saw investigators surrounding his car. But she said she didn't notice any red flags.
"He seemed perfectly fine," White said. "I've seen him out there ... with his drones."
People who spoke to CBS Chicago described Martin as a loner.
"He always kept to himself," she said. Source. 

"When I saw the cops around here I knew it had to be him because he is a weird freaking guy," neighbor Jennifer White said. Source.

Okay, I read this and thought, oh my, the usual "he's nice" but "he's creepy."

The typical "nice guy" next door neighbor comment.

I was stopped short when I noticed one detail: "Jennifer White" is the maiden name of my wife.

Aurora Name Game

If it seems like there are a number of mass shootings and other forms of violence at Aurora (means "dawn") sites, there are. The name comes forth in weird contexts. For example, on The X-Files, Dana Scully's father was played by Don Sinclair Davis, who was born 8-4-1942 in Aurora, Missouri.

A variety of connections are to be noted.

On March 25, 2017, Aurora Genai Sheffel was crushed by a log.

On March 5, 2017, Aurora Buol-Smith was stabbed by her son, who said he was a werewolf, and said he had to kill her because she was a vampire.

On November 2, 2016, on Aurora Avenue, Urbandale, Iowa, two police officers were gunned down.

On March 31, 2016, a man opened fire almost immediately after Virginia State Trooper Chad P. Dermyer approached him at Richmond's Greyhound bus station. The officer died that night at the hospital. The shooter was identified as 34-year-old James Brown III of Aurora, Illinois, who has a long police record. According to his Illinois relatives, he wanted to go out in a firefight with police. There appears to be no explanation for why Brown was in Richmond, Virginia, from his home in Aurora, Illinois.

On September 24, 2015, five people were killed, eight were critically injured, and eight were seriously injured after a Ride the Ducks vehicle veered out of its lane on the narrow Aurora Bridge and struck a bus carrying international college students on a tour of Seattle, Washington state.

On February 14, 2015, there were shootings at a Waffle House in Aurora, Colorado.

On December 2, 2015, the San Bernardino mass shooting occurred. The youngest victim of the massacre was Aurora Godoy, 26, San Jacinto, California. Aurora Godoy = dawn of the gods = Morgengrauen der Götter or Morgendämmerung der Götter.

On September 26, 2014, all Chicago air traffic was stopped early after a deliberately set 6:00 am fire at a Federal Aviation Administration air traffic control facility in the Chicago suburb of Aurora, Illinois. Paramedics from the Aurora Fire Department, responding to a 911 call at 5:42 a.m. by an individual at the facility, entered the basement and followed a trail of blood that ultimately led to an individual later identified as Brian Harris, who attempted a self-immolation combined with an attempted suicide with a knife.

On April 13, 2014, the gunman who fired in the Overland Park Jewish Community Center and at the retirement community of Village Shalom killed three people between the two locations. The gunman was identified as 73-year-old Frazier Glenn Miller Jr. of Aurora, Missouri.

There are many such examples.

How far back are such links?

On July 18, 1984, the San Ysidro McDonald's massacre was a mass shooting that occurred in and around a McDonald's restaurant in the San Diego neighborhood of San Ysidro . The perpetrator, 41-year-old James Huberty, shot and killed 21 people and injured 19 others before being fatally shot by a SWAT team sniper. One of the fatalities had the first name Aurora.

On April 28, 1949 – The Hukbalahap are accused of assassinating former First Lady of the Philippines Aurora Quezon, while she is en route to dedicate a hospital in memory of her late husband; her daughter and ten others are also killed.
