I-35: Highway to Hell

People have emotional relationships with the highways on which they have to drive often. Interstate 35 is one such road. Writer Sherry Claypool Kuehl once called I-35 "Satan's Parking Lot."

Let's look at it as a "highway to hell" in the wake of the Austin bombings and a quick reflection on its troublesome history.

This map by "Jenny Almond" was originally published on February 5, 2018, on Merovee's blog.  It showed predictive insights regarding the Austin bombings. For example, bomber Mark Anthony Conditt's suicide occurred in Round Rock, which is visible on her map.

Other items that Jenny Almond and Tom Mellett have noted should be added to the map include:

~ The Alamo, The Battle of the Alamo, San Antonio, February 23 – March 6, 1836;

~ The Ebola outbreak at the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, Dallas, October 12, 2014;

~ The Smiley Face Balloon Crash, near Lockhart, 30 miles south of Austin, July 30, 2016.

Considering how finite the limits of Almond map are, it is intriguing to note how many of the Boyms' "Buildings of Disaster" are represented on her graph.

Texas School Book Depository, November 22, 1963.

University of Texas Tower, Austin, August 1, 1966.

Waco, Texas, April 19, 1993.

Oklahoma City Federal Building, April 19, 1995.

Texas A&M Bonfire Tower, November 8, 1999

Interstate 35 is closely tied to the controversy surrounding the so-called NAFTA superhighway.

"The proposed Trans-Texas Corridor toll-road project included one proposal (TTC-35) to primarily parallel I-35 from the Mexican border up to the Oklahoma border." Source.

Interstate 29 and Interstate 35, described by the Ministry of Transportation for the province of Alberta as the "NAFTA superhighway."

Perhaps we need to watch I-35 a bit more closely.

For example, notice Ardmore, Oklahoma is on I-35. That's the childhood home of James Shelby Downard, which blogger Matt Forney wrote was "a town straight out of a David Lynch movie: wholesome on the outside but hiding deep dark secrets."

Between 1967 and 1972, "The Enema Bandit" (see Michael H. Kenyon) terrorized Norman, Oklahoma (which sits right on I-35).

The I-35 corridor in this part of the country may be "Satan's Parking Lot," after all.

Victims/Names

Guttenberg
German and Jewish (Ashkenazic): habitational name from any of various places, for example in Bavaria, called Guttenberg, from the weak dative case (originally used after a preposition and article) of Old High German guot ‘good’ + berg ‘mountain’, ‘hill’. The shortening of the vowel in the first syllable is a feature found in various dialects of German. Jewish (Ashkenazic): ornamental name composed of German gut ‘good’ + Berg ‘mountain’, ‘hill’.

Hixon
English surname Hixon means "son of Hick". Hick was a pet name for Richard. The Germanic first or given name Richard derives from German, French, and English "ric" (ruler, leader, king, powerful) and "hard" (strong, brave, hardy), and it therefore means "strong in rule."

Nicholas/Nikolas

Nicholas = English and Dutch: from the personal name (Greek Nikolaos, from nikān "to conquer" + laos "people"). Forms with -ch- are due to hypercorrection.

Comment maker M.R. passes this along (with additions by me):

- Hixon, the surname of one of the victims, has another association with death: It's the name of a town in England famous for a rail crash [January 6, 1968] with 11 deaths and 45 people injured.
- Schachter [from Yiddish (Ashkenazic) shochet, "to slaughter"], the surname of another victim, is the same as the surname of psychologist Stanley Schachter, whose most famous book is When Prophecy Fails*... intriguing.

*When Prophecy Fails, 1964, was a study of a small UFO religion in Chicago called the Seekers that believed in an imminent apocalypse and its coping mechanisms after the event did not occur.

- The names of the victims also seem to point to the movie Jeremiah Johnson [1972]. It was directed by Sydney Pollack**, and Pollack*** is the surname of a victim, and the name of the actor that played the main Indian character was Joaquin Martinez, and both Joaquin and Martin are first names of victims.

**Sydney Pollack was born in Lafayette, Indiana (see Fayette Factor), to a family of Russian Jewish immigrants. As an Ashkenazic name, the reference is to a person of Hebrew origin from Poland or from some other Slavonic speaking region.
***Meadow Pollack was buried at the Star of David Memorial Gardens on Friday, February 16, 2018.
Five of the seventeen victims were Jewish - Jamie Guttenberg, Alyssa Alhadeff, Alex Schachter, Meadow Pollack — and teacher Scott Beigel.
In one anti-Semitic tirade, Cruz referenced his biological mother, saying: “My real mom was a Jew. I am glad I never met her,” CNN said.

Dollar Store, Uber, Walmart, Subway, and McDonalds.

Nikolas Cruz's journey on Valentine's Day, to and from the Parkland high school killing of 17 individuals, sounds like someone was connecting the dots to a bunch of Super Bowl commercials. But it merely is as commonplace as the nature of school shootings in 2018.

Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel told reporters that the suspected shooter, 19-year-old (former Parkland student and Dollar Store employee) Nikolas Cruz, arrived at Marjory (Stoneman) Douglas High School via Uber at 2:19pm local time (Eastern) on Wednesday (February 14, 2018). The Uber driver is not implicated at this time, the sheriff said.
From there, the former Marjory Douglas student entered the building, carrying a legally purchased AR-15 rifle and multiple magazines. He began spraying bullets into nearby classrooms, occasionally returning to certain rooms to hit them again.
In total, police say Mr Cruz killed 17 students and staff and injured 14.
Less than 40 minutes after he began his rampage, Mr Israel said, Mr Cruz dropped his rifle and backpack and fled the school on foot, blending in with the students running for their lives from the building.
The suspect entered a Subway inside a Walmart nearby and purchased a drink, Mr Israel said. He then went to a McDonalds and sat for several minutes. He was eventually detained in a residential area two miles from the school at 3:41pm (Eastern). Source.

As it happens, the logo of the Philadelphia Eagles, who won the Super Bowl LII, is a mirror of the Eagles logo of the Parkland high school.

"The falling eagle snych is uncanny, not just the eagle logo of the school with the Philly Eagles, but the fact that it is in both cases a diving/falling eagle. Also the synch can be taken further, with the whole 'lost Israel' thing [see below]. Israel lost an f-16 eagle fighter jet returning from a mission over Syria (in response to an Iranian drone sent over Israel via Syria). This happened just last week (Feb 10, 2018). It is the first time Israel has lost a fighter jet in nearly 36 years! (Last time was in 1982 during the Lebanon War.) In other words Israel lost an eagle 'that fell out of the sky,' so to speak, (it crashed in Israel, and the pilots survived, they ejected). A falling eagle. A very very rare military incident for Israel, that has changed the strategic dynamics between Israel and the Syria-Iran-Hezbollah axis, as tensions continue to mount and with it fears of war." - From comment maker Lawrence.

"Synchromysticism: The art of realizing meaningful coincidence in the seemingly mundane with mystical or esoteric significance." ~ Jake Kotze, The Brave New World Order, August 18, 2006.

There are so many syncs with this event, it appears to be filled with Jungian coincidences on steroids.

Parkland Syncs

The location of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School is Parkland, Florida.

The immediate stream-of-consciousness association of Parkland is to Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas, where John F. Kennedy was taken after he was assassinated on November 22, 1963.

The JFK assassination surfaces again as another sync due to the name of the Parkland shooter, Nikolas Cruz. This one was about Ted Cruz and JFK.

The National Enquirer, a tabloid with a tabloid mentality, published on May 2, 2016, a "World Exclusive Investigation," in which they tied a famed incident running up to the John F. Kennedy assassination to Ted Cruz. The claim is that Ted Cruz's father, Rafael Cruz, was photographed with Lee Harvey Oswald in New Orleans, handing out "Fair Play for Cuba" leaflets. The Trump campaign repeated the claim, as if it was true. (See more here.)

“It's a mystery! It's a mystery wrapped in a riddle inside an enigma! The fuckin' shooters don't even know! Don't you get it?” ~ David Ferrie (character) in JFK, 1991, Oliver Stone, Director.

More Cruz Syncs

On February 14, 2018, the day that Nikolas Cruz shot and killed 17 people at the Stoneman Douglas High School, a regularly scheduled rerun of NYPD Blue occurred. It was called "Lost Israel."

The Parkland, Florida, shooting involved an outspoken Jewish law enforcement individual, Sheriff Scott Israel, as the spokesperson concerning the deaths and arrest of Cruz.

"The Parkland shooting itself has a further Israel connection, aside from the police chief Scott Israel. That is Parkland has a sizeable Jewish population. Five of the seventeen dead in this Valentine Day massacre are Jewish (four students and one teacher), which as far as a I know is the highest number of Jewish people killed in a mass shooting tragedy in the USA." ~ Lawrence.

As mentioned in my earlier essay, Cruz means "cross."

Parkland, Florida. February 14, 2018.

This year's Valentine's Day, February 14, 2018, fell on Ash Wednesday. Several eyewitnesses interviewed on television appeared with an ash cross on their forehead.

"David Bowie's last song Valentine's Day was meant to be from the perspective of a school shooter. So days after the 'Star Man' was put into orbit by Tesla we have the 'Stone Man' massacre." ~ Daniel Sale.

"Valentine's Day" is a song by English rock musician David Bowie, the fourth single from his 24th studio album The Next Day. The single was released on August 19, 2013. This was to be David Bowie's last 7 inch single issued from a new album in his lifetime. The lyrics are based on the psychology of a shooter.

Valentine's Day ~ David Bowie

Valentine told me who's to go
Feelings he treasured most of all
The teachers and the football stars
It's in his tiny face
It's in his scrawny hands
Valentine sold his soul
He's got something to say
It's Valentine's day
The rhythm of the crowd
Benny and Judy down
Valentine sees it all
He's got something to say
It's Valentine's day
Valentine told me how he feels
If all the world were under his heels
Or stumbling through the mall
It's in his tiny face
It's in his scrawny hands
Valentine knows it all
He's got something to say
It's Valentine's day
Valentine, Valentine
Valentine, Valentine
It's in his scrawny hands
It's in his icy heart
It's happening today
Valentine, Valentine
It's in his scrawny hands
It's in his icy heart
It's happening today
Valentine, Valentine

Jim Marrs Dies

On Wednesday, August 2, 2017, the family of Jim Marrs alerted friends that Jim died on this day from a heart attack. He had been in decline for a bit, but his spirit drove him onward.

I met and appeared with Jim a couple of times - once in Laughlin, Nevada, in 2003, when Jim was talking about future technology and I was speaking about unexplained phenomena, and another time in Dallas in 1992, when we both were on the "Strange & Convienient Deaths Panel" linked to the JFK assassination.

Jim and I shared tables next to each other in Nevada, and we talked for hours about our mutual interests in the unknown.

As a reporter, Jim had investigated many Fortean stories, including UFOs and monsters. Indeed, as Craig Woolheater reminded me this evening, Jim was the reporter that covered the Lake Worth Monster in front page articles on July 10 & 11, 1969 in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Jim was a great person. Sorry to hear of his passing.

+++

The standard biographical background information, obtainable via Wikipedia in the past, is posted here for those unaware of Jim's broad range.

Jim Marrs (born December 5, 1943) was an American former newspaper journalist and New York Times best-selling author of books and articles on a wide range of alleged cover ups and conspiracies. He died on August 2, 2017, of a massive heart attack.
Marrs was a prominent figure in the JFK conspiracy press and his book Crossfire was a source for Oliver Stone's film JFK. He wrote books asserting the existence of government conspiracies regarding aliens, 9/11, telepathy, and secret societies. He was once a news reporter in the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex and taught a class on the assassination of John F. Kennedy at University of Texas at Arlington for 30 years. Marrs was a member of the Scholars for 9/11 Truth.
A native of Fort Worth, Texas, Marrs earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from the University of North Texas in 1966 and attended graduate school at Texas Tech in Lubbock for two years more. He worked for several Texas newspapers, including the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, where, beginning in 1968, he served as police reporter and general assignments reporter covering stories locally, in Europe, and in the Middle East. After a leave of absence to serve with a Fourth Army intelligence unit during the Vietnam War, he became military and aerospace writer for the newspaper and an investigative reporter.
Since 1980, Marrs had been a freelance writer, author, and public relations consultant. He had also published a rural weekly newspaper along with a monthly tourism tabloid, a cable television show, and several videos.
Since 1976, Marrs taught a course on the assassination of Kennedy at the University of Texas at Arlington.
Beginning in 1992, Marrs spent three years researching and completing a non-fiction book on a top-secret government program called the Stargate Project involving the psychic phenomenon known as remote viewing, only to have the program canceled as it was going to press in the summer of 1995.

In May 1997, Marrs' investigation of UFOs, Alien Agenda, was published by HarperCollins Publishers. The paperback edition was released in mid-1998. It has been translated into several foreign languages and would become the top-selling UFO book in the world. Publishers Weekly said:
Marrs shows little discrimination, overemphasizing dubious phenomena like remote viewing and crop circles, and giving nearly equal weight to ludicrous pretenders like Billy Meier (who claimed close encounter with Pleiadians) and sophisticated commentators like Jaques Vallee. Marrs even devotes a chapter to theories that the moon may be a UFO, and he refuses to rule out obvious frauds like the alien autopsy tapes. But if rigorous analysis escapes Marrs, little else does; this is the most entertaining and complete overview of flying saucers and their crew in years.
In early 2000, HarperCollins published Rule by Secrecy, which claimed to trace a hidden history connecting modern secret societies to ancient and medieval times. The book reached the New York Times Best Seller list. In 2003, his book The War on Freedom probed the alleged conspiracies of the 9/11 attacks and their aftermath. It was released in 2006 under the title The Terror Conspiracy.
Marrs had been a featured speaker at a number of national conferences including the annual International UFO Congress and the annual Gulf Breeze UFO Conference, but he also spoke at local conferences, such as Conspiracy Con and The Bay Area UFO Expo. Beginning in 2000, he began teaching a course on UFOs at the University of Texas at Arlington. Marrs also gave a book signing at Brave New Books in Austin, Texas at least once a year, until his health kept him away.
Marrs appeared on ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, C-SPAN, The Discovery Channel, TLC, The History Channel, This Morning America, Geraldo, The Montel Williams Show, Today, TechTV, Larry King (with George Noory), and Art Bell radio programs, as well as numerous national and regional radio and TV shows.
In October 2011, Marrs started his own radio program, "The View from Marrs" on the Jeff Rense Radio network airing three times a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 3 pm Central time. Marrs had on his show a wide variety of guests and dedicated the entire month of November to the latest information regarding the JFK assassination. He had subject matter on UFO research, survival tips, and much more. This radio program was put on hiatus due to his two upcoming book contracts, then his health issues.
With a friend, Michael H. Price, Marrs completed a Comic Book entitled, Oswald's Confession & Other Tales from the War published by Cremo Studios, Inc., in 2012 with Marrs as also the cartoonist of the  book. February 2013 Marrs' book, Our Occulted History: Do the Global Elite Conceal Ancient Aliens? was published by HarperCollins.
In 1989, Marrs' book, Crossfire: The Plot That Killed Kennedy, was published and reached the New York Times Paperback Non-Fiction Best Seller list in mid-February 1992. It became a basis for the Oliver Stone film JFK.
According to Stephen E. Ambrose (in an essay generally critical of conspiracy theorists) Marrs wrote in Crossfire that motives for the murder of Kennedy were "Attorney General Robert Kennedy's attack on organized crime (Mafia motive); President Kennedy's failure to support the Cuban exiles at the Bay of Pigs (Cuban and C.I.A. motive); the 1963 Nuclear Test-Ban Treaty (military-industrial complex, or M.I.C. motive); Kennedy's plan to withdraw from Vietnam before the end of 1965 (Joint Chiefs of Staff and M.I.C. motive); Kennedy's talk about taking away the oil-depletion allowance (Texas oil men motive); Kennedy's monetary policies (international bankers motive); Kennedy's decision to drop Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson from the ticket in 1964 (L.B.J. motive) and Kennedy's active civil rights policy (Texas racist billionaires motive)."
Sylvia Meagher is a critic of the Warren Commission and author of Master Index to the JFK Assassination and Accessories After the Fact. In April 1987, Meagher received the manuscript of Marrs' Crossfire. She was asked to evaluate the book by Simon & Schuster, which was considering publishing it. Meagher concluded, "The accuracy of the manuscript in dealing with a vast body of complex evidence is nearly impeccable...the manuscript is, in my opinion, a fine and admirable work." Despite this glowing recommendation, Simon & Schuster became one of about 25 major U.S. publishers to turn down the book. It was finally published in 1989 by Carroll & Graf Publishers."

Jim was a classic, a one-of-a-kind gentleman author, who will be missed by many.

    Cryptokubrology: Frame 237s

There is a view by which it can be shown, or more or less demonstrated, that there never has been a coincidence. That is, in anything like a final sense. By a coincidence is meant a false appearance, or suggestion, or relations among circumstances. But anybody who accepts that there is an underlying oneness of all things, accepts that there are no utter absences or relations among circumstances --
Or that there are no coincidences...

~ Charles Fort, Wild Talents, 1932.

The title to Rodney Ascher's 2012 documentary Room 237 refers to a room in the haunted hotel featured in The Shining, which a character is warned to never enter. But, of course, it means much more than that.
The [Torrance] family* arrives at the [Overlook] hotel on closing day and is given a tour. The chef, Dick Hallorann [played by Scatman Crothers], surprises Danny [Torrance, played by Danny Lloyd] by telepathically offering him ice cream. Dick explains to Danny that he and his grandmother shared this telepathic ability, which he calls "shining." Danny asks if there is anything to be afraid of in the hotel, particularly room 237. Hallorann tells Danny that the hotel has a "shine" to it along with many memories, not all of which are good. He also tells Danny to stay away from room 237.
[*Jack Torrance is played by Jack Nicholson; Wendy Torrance is played by Shelley Duvall.] ~ Wikipedia
Can the "237" phenomenon "shine" beyond Stanley Kubrick's film?

I decided to test this by experimentally taking the random selection of "Frame 237s" from a Alfred Hitchcock film database to see what such an exercise would demonstrate.

As the author of the site "1000 Frames of Hitchcock" notes, it is "an attempt to reduce each of the 52 available major Alfred Hitchcock films down to just 1000 frames. The aim of the project is to create a library of images which can be used to illustrate blog posts, web articles and reviews," and so forth.

So, to be clear, for this random analysis, the 1000 frames are not picked by Alfred Hitchcock nor me, but merely by film researchers who selected them and numbered them using their own criteria as a means to summarize each Hitchcock film. I then found a few examples of the frames numbered "237." I used the "Frame 237s" that popped to the top of my Google image search, without any discrimination against one film over another.

Obviously, Hitchcock was a great filmmaker and his motion pictures have a certain style, but it was rather intriguing that these "237s" tend to be rather reflective. Is it a theme of what these "237s" reveal?

    Reflecting on paintings...

Reflecting on where the characters are headed...

Reflecting what someone else is thinking, saying, or indicating...

Having the viewer reflecting on the scene, from a distance...

In one dramatic instance, making the reflection overt, via a mirror...

What do you think? What's your thoughts while reflecting on these frames?
