Prometheus / 2049

A scene from Blade Runner 2049 (
Warner Brothers) compared visually to the opening of Prometheus. And the internal past/future of that story.

Ridley Scott appears to have revealed a clue to the links between the Blade Runner universe in the Prometheus saga in the new 2049 film.
Scott said in 2015 that the next Prometheus film will be called Alien: Paradise Lost.
John Milton's epic poem Paradise Lost details the Biblical story of the fall of man, the temptation of Adam and Eve by Satan, and their expulsion from the Garden of Eden.
The original Prometheus was a prequel to the first Alien film, which Scott directed back in 1979.
The two Blade Runner films take place in 2019 and 2049.
There are deep layers of a story way beyond Blade Runner 2049 that will be revealed and unfolding for years. If you have not seen it, I highly recommend you view it on the big screen, while you can.
The predictive nature of science fiction films is well known. Blade Runner 2049 may have had a precognitive insight beyond the human imagination.
More on that in the future....

Death Drove An Acadia

The origin of the designation Acadia is credited to the explorer Giovanni da Verrazzano, who on his 16th century map applied the ancient Greek name "Arcadia" to the entire Atlantic coast north of Virginia (note the inclusion of the 'r' of the original Greek name). "Arcadia" derives from the Arcadia district in Greece, which since Classical antiquity had the extended meanings of "refuge" or "idyllic place". The Dictionary of Canadian Biography says: "Arcadia, the name Verrazzano gave to Maryland or Virginia 'on account of the beauty of the trees,' made its first cartographical appearance in the 1548 Gastaldo map and is the only name on that map to survive in Canadian usage." In 1603 a colony south of the St. Lawrence between the 40th and 46th parallels was agreed by Henry IV, who recognised the territory as "La Cadie". Also in the 17th century Champlain fixed its present orthography with the 'r' omitted. William Francis Ganong, a cartographer, has shown its gradual progress northeastwards, in a succession of maps, to its resting place in the Atlantic Provinces of Canada.

Most people frequently associate the name Acadia today with the national park of that name in Maine.

Les Bergers d’Arcadie by Nicolas Poussin

The Latin phrase Et in Arcadia ego, which is usually interpreted to mean "Even in Arcadia there am I", is an example of memento mori, a cautionary reminder of the transitory nature of life and the inevitability of death. The phrase is most often associated with a 1647 painting by Nicolas Poussin, also known as The Arcadian Shepherds. In the painting the phrase appears as an inscription on a tomb discovered by youthful figures in classical garb.

The gunman suspected of killing three co-workers and critically wounding three other people in a two-state shooting spree was captured Wednesday, October 18, 2017, in Delaware.

Police said Radee Labee Prince, 37, was arrested after a foot chase in Newark, Delaware, by agents with the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives at around 7:05 p.m., hours after the first shooting in Maryland.

The deadly rampage began, police said, when Prince killed three co-workers and critically wounded two others at the Maryland kitchen countertop business where he worked.

He then drove to a used car dealership in Wilmington, Delaware, where he shot and critically wounded another man "with whom he's had some past history," the city's police chief, Bob Tracy, said.

A manhunt was launched that involved local and federal law enforcement agencies. A tip at around 5:35 p.m. led police to Prince’s empty car in Newark. Authorities set up a perimeter, and at around 6:46 p.m. police received information that Prince was near a shopping center. He was arrested just after 7 p.m. following a brief foot chase, Tracy said.

During the foot chase Prince allegedly threw away a .380-caliber handgun, which was recovered, Tracy said. He was arrested without incident, Tracy said.

"A coordinated effort brought this to a successful conclusion on a very, very bad day," Tracy said at a Wednesday evening press conference. Tracy earlier called Prince "a person with no conscience," and Harford County Sheriff Jeffrey R. Gahler called the fatal shooting in Maryland "one of the most heinous acts in our county."

Armed with a handgun, Prince arrived at Advanced Granite Solutions, a kitchen countertop company in the town of Edgewood, around 8:30 a.m. to start his shift, Gahler said. Instead, he started shooting.

"It does appear to be a targeted attack," the sheriff said.

Prince had worked as a machine operator for the company for four months, Gahler said. But police did not know of a motive.

Please note, in press accounts, the name of the car was incorrectly spelled as Arcadia, instead of Acadia, as in this from NBC:

"Afterward, the gunman fled in a black GMC Arcadia to Prince's home state, Delaware, where he allegedly shot another man around 10:45 a.m."

---

"He's got 42 arrests in Delaware," mostly for parole violations, Tracy said. He also has 15 felony convictions on his rap sheet, according to Tracy.

Fayette Factor: Melonheads Gather

With Grunge copycat suicides having been of recent concern, we may wish to throw out some lifelines from October 21st through 27th, as Melonheads gather.

Shannon Hoon - 1995
Richard Shannon Hoon (September 26, 1967 – October 21, 1995) was an American singer-songwriter and musician. He was the lead singer of the band Blind Melon until his death from a cocaine overdose in 1995.

The singer of the band Blind Melon, grew up in Lafayette, Indiana, was a three-sports athlete in high school, joined a band, and then left for Los Angeles where he eventually formed Blind Melon.

His Fayette Factor continued when after music success, another Lafayette native, Axl Rose of Guns 'n Roses, asked Hoon to join him on an album being recorded in 1991-1992.

Hoon died from a heart attack brought on by cocaine use on October 21, 1995. He was found dead in New Orleans in the band’s tour bus.

Every year on the Saturday closest to Hoon’s birthday, fans called Melonheads make the trek to his grave for a weekend of commemoration.

Hoon's grave is near Lafayette, Indiana.

A coincidence of date and situation?

Exactly 20 years to the same week, another rock music star allegedly died by cocaine overdose, also being found on his band's tour bus.

The famed photo of Stone Temple Pilot's Scott Weiland by SGranitz mirrors Chris Cornell's and Chester Bennington's often-displayed "Jesus Christ Pose."

Scott Weiland - 2015
Scott Richard Weiland (born Scott Richard Kline; October 27, 1967 – December 3, 2015) was an American musician, singer and songwriter. During a career spanning three decades, Weiland was best known as the lead singer of the band Stone Temple Pilots from 1989 to 2002 and 2008 to 2013. He was also a member of supergroup Velvet Revolver from 2003 to 2008 and recorded one album with another supergroup Art of Anarchy.
As the lead singer of the Stone Temple Pilots, Weiland fronted it from 1986 to 2002 and again from 2008 to 2013. In addition to his most recent band, the Wildabouts, Weiland was part of the group Velvet Revolverfrom 2003 to 2008.

Weiland, 48, was found dead on his tour bus on December 3, 2015, in Bloomington, Minnesota, before he and his band The Wildabouts were scheduled to go on stage. He was 48. Police searched Weiland's tour bus and confirmed there were small amounts of cocaine in the bedroom where Weiland was discovered dead. Police also found prescription drugs including Xanax, Buprenorphine, Ziprasidone, Viagra, and sleeping pills on the tour bus. Additionally, two bags of cocaine were found and a bag of a green leafy substance. Tommy Black, bassist for The Wildabouts, was arrested by police on suspicion of possession of cocaine, although the charges against him were later dropped. Despite the discovery of drugs, no underlying cause of death was immediately given, although the medical examiner later determined it to be an accidental overdose of cocaine, alcohol, and methylenedioxyamphetamine (MDA); the examiner's office also noted his atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, history of asthma, and prolonged substance abuse in its report.

News of Weiland's death quickly spread throughout the internet with many of his fellow musical peers, including his former band members along with fans and music critics throughout the world sharing their condolences, tributes and memories. A day following his death, his former bandmates in Stone Temple Pilots issued a statement saying that he was "gifted beyond words" but acknowledged his struggle with substance abuse, calling it "part of [his] curse". Weiland's ex-wife Mary Forsberg, released an open letter about her ex-husband, his addictions and not being a good father to their children. Forsberg said, "I won't say he can rest now, or that he's in a better place. He belongs with his children barbecuing in the backyard and waiting for a Notre Dame game to come on. We are angry and sad about this loss, but we are most devastated that he chose to give up. Let's choose to make this the first time we don't glorify this tragedy with talk of rock and roll and the demons that, by the way, don't have to come with it."

In the wake of Weiland's death, Chris Cornell dedicated a December 4, 2015 performance of "Say Hello 2 Heaven" (which Cornell had written for his late friend Andrew Wood) by Temple of the Dog to Weiland.

Black Ops Dads: Paddock and Harrelson

Sons - at least not all sons - do not grow up to be copycats of their fathers. But what are we to make of the shadowy pasts of two "dark dads" being discussed recently?

Did these two background "fathers" (until the recent Las Vegas carnage opened this discussion) live charmed lives, as did their sons (through 10.1.2017) too, as suggested by MA Hoffman? See Source.

Mundane data points follow. You connect the dots or not....

Stephen Paddock, Las Vegas mass murderer, was born in Clinton, Iowa. He grew up in Tucson, Arizona, and Sun Valley, California, as the eldest of four sons of Benjamin Hoskins Paddock. Benjamin was a bank robber who was arrested in 1960, when Stephen was seven years old. Benjamin was later convicted and escaped prison in 1969, subsequently appearing on the FBI's most-wanted list. Stephen was 15 years old at the time. According to his brother Eric, they never really knew their father as he was never with their mother.

In 1946, Benjamin Paddock was convicted of ten counts of auto larceny and five counts of confidence game and was confined at the Illinois State Penitentiary until July, 1951. In 1953, he was convicted of conspiracy in connection with a bad check passing operation and was again held at the Illinois State Penitentiary until August 1956. In one of his early arrests, he was found with a concealed revolver.

He was accused of robbing branches of the Valley National Bank of Arizona in Phoenix of $11,210 on February 19, 1959, and of $9,285 on January 29, 1960. He robbed another branch of $4,620 on July 26, 1960. He was captured and then convicted for the third robbery in federal court in January 1961. During his arrest, he attempted to run down an FBI agent with his car. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison. On December 30, 1968, Paddock escaped from the Federal Correctional Institution, La Tuna in Anthony, Texas. A warrant for his arrest relating to his escape was issued on February 3, 1969, and he was placed on the FBI 10 most wanted list.

Most individuals who have been on the FBI Top Ten Most Wanted list are off the list in less than six months. Paddock was among those who were on the list the longest, being placed on the list on June 10, 1969, and removed on May 5, 1977.  While on the most wanted list, he was described as being 6'4", weighing 245 pounds, having blond hair but being balding and frequently shaved. He had green eyes and wore contact lenses or glasses. He also had a scar above his right eyebrow and on his right knee and had a birthmark on his left ankle. He was described as a smooth talker, as arrogant and egotistical, liking cigars, cigarettes, and steaks. He also played bridge, enjoyed gambling, and watching sports, particularly baseball, for which he also worked as an umpire. During his criminal career, Paddock had numerous aliases, including Perry Archer, Benjamin J. Butler, Leo Genstein, Pat Paddock, and Patrick Benjamin Paddock. His nicknames included "Chromedome", "Old Baldy", and "Big Daddy".

After escaping prison in 1968, Paddock moved to Oregon where he took the name Bruce Warner Erickson. In Oregon he worked as a contract trucker and in drug abuse rehabilitation. He was twice cited for traffic violations and in September 1977 he applied for and was granted a license to open a bingo parlor, but his identity was not uncovered. He then operated a bingo parlor for the Center for Education Reform, a non-profit organization based in Eugene, Oregon.

He was captured and arrested in early September 1978 in Springfield, Oregon, and was eventually released on parole.

Woody Harrwlson

Woody Harrelson was born in 1961 in Midland, Texas, the son of Diane (nee Oswald) and Charles Voyde Harrelson. He has two brothers, Jordan and Brett Harrelson. In 1973, Harrelson moved to his mother's native city, Lebanon, Ohio, where he attended Lebanon High School. He spent much of his high school years working as a woodcarver at Kings Island amusement park.

His father, Charles Voyde Harrelson, was a convicted contract killer (hitman), who received a life sentence for the 1979 killing of Federal Judge John H. Wood Jr. in San Antonio, Texas. He died in the United States Penitentiary Administrative Maximum Facility on March 15, 2007.

Charles Voyde Harrelson (July 23, 1938 – March 15, 2007) was an American organized crime figure who was convicted of assassinating federal judge John H. Wood Jr., the first federal judge to have been killed in the 20th century. He was the estranged father of actor Woody Harrelson.

In September 1980, Charles Harrelson surrendered to police after a six-hour standoff in which he was reportedly "high on cocaine". During the standoff, he threatened suicide and stated that he had killed Judge Wood and President John F. Kennedy. In a television interview after his arrest, Harrelson said: "At the same time I said I had killed the judge, I said I had killed Kennedy, which might give you an idea to the state of my mind at the time." He said that the statements made during the standoff were "an effort to elongate my life."

Joseph Chagra later testified during Harrelson's trial that Harrelson claimed to have shot Kennedy and drew maps to show where he was hiding during the assassination. Chagra said that he did not believe Harrelson's claim, and the AP reported that the FBI "apparently discounted any involvement by Harrelson in the Kennedy assassination." According to Jim Marrs in 1989's Crossfire, Harrelson is believed to be the youngest and tallest of the "three tramps" by many conspiracy theorists. Marrs stated that Harrelson was involved "with criminals connected to intelligence agencies and the military" and suggested that he was connected to Jack Ruby through Russell Douglas Matthews, a third party with links to organized crime who was known to both Harrelson and Ruby.  Lois Gibson, a well-known forensic artist, matched photographs of Harrelson to the photographs of the youngest-looking of the three "tramps".

Route 91

Route 91 Harvest Festival country music concert - with 22,000 audience members - experienced a mass shooting in Las Vegas, 10.01.2017. As the number of deaths rose overnight, it became clear this now is the deadliest mass shooting in American history.
<><><>
The Umpqua Community College shooting occurred on October 1, 2015, at the UCC campus near Roseburg, Oregon, United States. Chris Harper-Mercer, a 26-year-old enrolled at the school, fatally shot an assistant professor and eight students in a classroom. Seven to nine others were injured. Roseburg police detectives responding to the incident engaged Harper-Mercer in a brief shootout. After being wounded, he killed himself by shooting himself in the head. The mass shooting was the deadliest in Oregon's modern history.
<><><>
As of 7:00 pm Eastern on October 1, 2017, the death toll was at 58 people being killed, over 500 injured. Police report the gunman, Stephen Paddock, 64, of Mesquite, Nevada, who was holded up on the 32th floor (Room 135?) in the Mandalay Hotel, died by suicide. He is described as Caucasian.

Name game? "Property records show Stephen Paddock had homes in both Mesquite, Tex., and Mesquite in Nevada." Source.
<><><>
Marilou Danley, his companion, a person of interest, has been located. There has been great media confusion about her role. Her current or former husband's photo has been incorrectly posted as Paddock's. Intriguingly, her husband is said to be from Fayetteville.

The horror of the situation developed on live television overnight.

Among synchromystic researchers, this Las Vegas incident was noted as linked to the Marilyn Manson concert incident happening the night before when two huge gun props fell on that performer.

Los Angeles Times earlier noted the first fatalities.

From earlier....

Multiple people have been shot after a gunman opened fire in the Mandalay Bay area of Las Vegas.

Video from the scene shows the moment that the gunfire started during a festival in the city in Nevada.

What sounds like some kind of machine gun can be heard over the noise of the music which quickly cuts out.

It is believed that the gunman may have opened fire from a building overlooking the festival site. Reports are there is one suspect in custody and another is being pursued.

At one point, three shooting sites were reported. But sound distortions and mass hysteria may be in play, to be fair.

The gunman is said to have opened fire at the Route 91 Harvest country music festival where people were seen running for cover or lying on the ground.
