On Elysian Fields (!) Avenue!

The Elysian Fields (Ancient Greek: Ἠλύσιον πεδίον, Ēlýsion pedíon) is a conception of the afterlife that developed over time and was maintained by some Greek religious and philosophical sects and cults.

“They told me to take a streetcar named Desire, and then transfer to one called Cemeteries and ride six blocks and get off at Elysian Fields.”


Tennessee Williams provides perhaps the most famous reference to Elysian Fields Avenue in his 1947 Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, A Streetcar Named Desire, as the female lead character Blanche DuBois describes the journey to her sister’s home in New Orleans where she hopes to begin a new life. The street’s origins date back to the 1800s when it was the first road in New Orleans to extend from the Mississippi River to Lake Pontchartrain. In 1831, the Pontchartrain Railroad was built along its route and led to the development of Milneburg, a village along the lakeshore consisting of property owned mostly by Alexander Milne, a Scottish immigrant and successful New Orleans businessman. The railroad, combined with access to shipping routes via Lake Pontchartrain, helped Milneburg grow into a vibrant part of town. By the early 1900s, Milneburg was a resort destination 20 minutes from downtown New Orleans with restaurants, a hotel and music venues.


It’s difficult to pin down exactly who assigned the label “Elysian Fields” to the new thoroughfare. In Greek mythology, Elysian Fields refers to Elysium, a final resting place for virtuous souls in the afterlife. Milne was known to have assigned street names within his holdings that represented prominent cities: New York, Edinburgh and Madrid, for example. Elysian Fields is thought to have been named after the grand route in Paris known as Avenue des Champs-Élysées. In Paris, the Avenue des Champs-Élysées connects Place de la Concorde, the largest public square in the French capital, to Place Charles de Gaulle, where twelve avenues meet and the Arc de Triomphe is located. In the place that playwright Tennessee Williams considers his “spiritual home,” our Elysian Fields also connects geographical pillars that define the city–the Mississippi River and Lake Pontchartrain. And while the streetcar doesn’t travel the same routes today as it did in the time of Blanche DuBois, thousands of New Orleanians continue to travel down Elysian Fields to the University of New Orleans in search of a better future.  ~ University of New Orleans

Black Lives Matter Activist Assassinated

An important Black Lives Matter activist from Charleston, South Carolina, who gained prominence in the wake of the police shooting of Walter Scott and when he grabbed a Confederate flag from a protester, was shot and killed February 6, 2018, in New Orleans. Muhiyidin Elamin Moye, who went by Muhiyidin d'Baha, 32, was found dead Tuesday morning after being shot in the thigh while riding his bicycle on Bienville Street. Rushed to a local hospital, he later died there of his wounds. No suspects are in custody.

Muhiyidin Elamin Moye/d'Baha made national headlines in February 2017 when he took a flying leap to wrestle a large Confederate battle flag from a protester in South Carolina, and the event was captured on video.

That incident occurred at an event at the College of Charleston, where activist Bree Newsome - known herself for climbing a flagpole to remove a Confederate flag at the statehouse in Columbia, S.C. - was speaking.

Moye/d'Baha was originally from Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and moved with his family to South Carolina when he was 13.

Muhyiddin = "reviver of faith or religion."

Elamin = “truthful.”

Moye = Dutch (de Moye): nickname from Middle Dutch moy, moeie, "fine," "handsome," denoting a "well-dressed person or a dandy."

d'Baha = Arabic, "brilliance," "magnificent," "splendor," "glory."


Commentator Anita Ladaprarez notes that "between this death and the extremely suspicious deaths of prominent activists and their relations in St. Louis, it seems very dangerous to be the more camera-eager kind of black activist."

Bellingham's Ramming: Bell Name Game Again

After rammings in Heilelberg and New Orleans, there has been another. On Sunday, February 26, 2017, a car ramming took place in London.

At about 8:20 am on Sunday, February 26, 2017, a car rammed into pedestrians on Bromley Road, Bellingham, southeast London. Five people have been injured, with at least one person trapped under the vehicle at the site.

Allegedly, the driver reportedly lost control and crashed into the group of pedestrians before hitting a wall.

The driver was detained at the scene by an off duty police officer before being arrested on suspicion of drink driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
The road remains closed as investigations are carried out.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said:

Five people - four men and a woman, believed to be aged between 25 and 46 years - were treated at the scene before being taken to south and east London hospitals.
Three of the pedestrians - a 35-year-old woman and two 25-year-old men remain in a critical condition.
Two other men, aged 36 and 46 are in a stable condition; their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The driver of the car was detained at the scene by an off-duty police officer before being arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
He was also arrested on suspicion of drink drive before being taken to a south London hospital with a head injury.

The crash happened opposite a car wash outside Catford bus garage.

Photos posted online show a Mercedes sedan that appears to have come off the road and rammed into the end of a hedge, its hood and trunk popped open by the impact. 

Bellingham, U.K.

Bellingham is an area of southeast London, Within the London Borough of Lewisham. It lies south of Lewisham and north of Beckenham.
The Bellingham Estate is an London County Council cottage estate bordered to the east and west by railway lines running south from Catford. Along the south it is bordered by Southend Lane, the A2218 main road. The River Ravensbourne runs through Bellingham, although it is either underground or part of a man-made section of the river. The Prime Meridian passes to the east of Bellingham.
Randlesdown Road serves as a mini "High Street" for Bellingham providing a local supermarket, men's and women's hair dressers, dry cleaner, off license, newsagent, fish and chip shop, pub, various takeaways and a recently built gym (situated on Bellingham playing fields). Source.

Bell Green

Bell Green is an area in the London Borough of Lewisham, between Perry Vale and Bellingham. The area was historically known for its gas works and the poverty of the local workers, in what Charles Booth called "the one really poor district in this quarter of London." The gasworks closed in 1968 and the whole area redeveloped; it is best known today for the eponymous retail park. Source.

Are we seeing a bit of the The Name Game this weekend? Should we watch what monikers come our way through Tuesday, Mardi Gras?

In Jim Brandon's 1983 book, The Rebirth of Pan: Hidden Faces of the American Earth Spirit, he writes, regarding the "name game":

I'm not talking here of such spooky tongue-twisters as H.P. Lovecraft's Yog-Sothoth or Arthur Machen's Ishakshar, but of quite ordinary names like Bell, Beall and variants, Crowley, Francis, Grafton, Grubb, Magee/McGee, Mason, McKinney, Montpelier, Parsons, Pike, Shelby, Vernon, Watson/Watt, Williams/Williamson. I have others on file, but these are the ones which I have accumulated the most instances.

Besides detailing the Fayette Factor often, in my 1983 Mysterious America, I noted:

Cryptologic or coincidence? Jim Brandon should be credited with calling attention to the name Watts/Watkins/Watson, and its entanglement with inexplicable things. Some other names involved in mysterious events pinpointed by Brandon are Bell, Mason, Parsons, Pike, Vernon, and Warren. The influence of such names as Mason, Pike, Warren, and Lafayette, for example, issues, in some cryptopolitical and occult way, from their ties to the Masonic tradition.

Before Micah X., There Was Mark Essex

The profile of the Dallas shooter, Micah Xavier Johnson, 25, of Mesquite, Texas, is emerging of an anti-white hater of the police. In a strange twist, he reminds me of Mark James Essex. (See more on the 7/7 shootings, here.)

TMZ stated:

Johnson's social media accounts reveal he was a member of several Black Panther organizations, including The New Black Panther Party Houston Chapter.
Johnson also subscribed to a Facebook group called "The Black Matrix," which aims to dismantle the system it believes "white societal elites" have put in place to "control the perceptions of its Black populations."
Johnson -- who served in the U.S. Army -- had involvement with Facebook communities including "Filming Cops" and "Police The Police," which describes itself as a platform for documenting and archiving police misconduct, brutality and abuse of authority.
Dallas PD Chief David Brown said before they took down Johnson he said he was angry about police brutality and wanted to kill white officers. Source.

Micah Johnson’s now-deleted Facebook page provides few details about his life. In May, he posted a “Black Power” poster, one of the few images on his page.
His cover photo is the Pan-African flag.
He liked pages connected to Elijah Mohammed, the founder of the Nation of Islam, and also like The New Black Panther Party and the Black Riders Liberation Party. Source.

The shooter in Dallas killed five police officers, was a Black Power advocate, and had the Pan-African flag as his cover photo on Facebook (see at top). 

He was an Army veteran, used a sniper-like position, and expressed a hatred of whites. Johnson went on his mass shooting spree in the wake of police killings of AfricanAmericans in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Falcon Heights, Minnesota.

There are echoes in Micah X's case of a similar individual from the past.

In my book The Copycat Effect, I noted the oft-forgotten case of the New Orleans sniper, Mark James Essex, who also targeted police officers:

As Peter Hernon recalls in his book, A Terrible Thunder: The Story of the New Orleans Sniper, on New Year’s Eve in New Orleans, 1972, Mark James Essex began one of the most violent and deadly sniper attacks that any American city had ever seen. Mark Essex was a quiet African-American man who grew to hate whites in the Navy. Then he went to Harlem, New York, associating himself with the Eldridge Cleaver faction of the Black Panther party. In August 1972, he moved to New Orleans and began studying African culture, attempting to learn Swahili and Zulu. Hernon says that the killing of two black Southern University students at Baton Rouge had motivated Essex during a standoff with sheriff's deputies. Essex had taken up the Black Panther urban guerilla faction, the Black Liberation Army’s call to kill police. Essex would do that and much more. Before Essex sniper attacks were through, 600 police officers and a helicopter gunship were used to stop him. The New York Times reported on January 8, 1973, “After a day of terror…New Orleans policemen, in a borrowed Marine helicopter… swooped out of rain and darkness to provide a mobile platform for police sharpshooters to hunt down snipers on the roof of the Downtown Howard Johnson's Motor Lodge. The dead sniper, who was dressed in green, was reported to have been riddled by tracer bullets.” Ten would die (including Essex and five police) and 13 were wounded (including one firefighter and four police officers).

Mark James Robert Essex (August 12, 1949 – January 7, 1973) killed nine people, including five policemen, and wounded 13 others in New Orleans on December 31, 1972, and January 7, 1973.

Essex joined the United States Navy as a dental technician in 1969, stationed in San Diego, California, where he claimed he was subjected to two years of ceaseless racial abuse.

The Mark James Essex entry at Wikipedia contains a couple sections detailing his shooting spree:

At the age of 23 and living in New Orleans, [Mark James] Essex began targeting policemen. On New Year's Eve 1972, Essex parked his car and went down Perdido Street, a block from the New Orleans Police Department. He hid in a parking lot across from the busy central lockup and used a 5-shot Ruger Model 44 .44-caliber semi-automatic carbine to kill Cadet Alfred Harrell, 19. Lt. Horace Perez was also wounded in the attack. Harrell was black, although Essex had claimed he was going to kill "just honkies" before beginning his murderous attacks. He also carried a Colt .38-caliber revolver (which had its serial number scratched off) on his person.
Essex evaded being taken into custody by jumping a chain link fence and running across I-10, while setting off firecrackers as a diversion. Essex then ran into Gert Town, an area renowned for high crime and hostility towards police. In Gert Town, Essex broke into the Burkart building, a warehouse and manufacturing plant on the corner of Euphrosine and South Gayoso. Upon entering the building, an alarm alerted police to a break-in at the business. A dog unit with Officers Edwin Hosli Sr. and Harold Blappert responded to the call, not realizing the connection of the break-in to the attack on central lockup.
When Officer Hosli went to get his German shepherd out of the back seat of the car, Essex shot him in the back. Essex then started shooting the car, shattering the windshield. Officer Blappert then crawled across the front seat to the radio and called for back-up. Blappert fired four shots at the spot where he saw muzzle flashes from Essex's rifle, then he pulled his partner's body onto the front seat of the car and waited for back-up. When the back-up arrived, they sent two dogs into the building to search for Essex, but Essex had escaped again. Officer Hosli died of his injuries on March 5, 1973.
At 10:15 a.m. on January 7, 1973, Essex shot grocer Joe Perniciaro with his .44 Magnum carbine and next carjacked Marvin Albert as he sat in his 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle outside his house on South White Street. Essex drove Albert's stolen vehicle to the Downtown Howard Johnson's Hotel at 330 Loyola Avenue in New Orleans' Central Business District, across the street from City Hall and the Louisiana Supreme Court. After almost hitting a startled motorist in the hotel's parking garage, Essex began to climb the stairs, only to find the fire doors locked on floor after floor.
Gaining entry from a fire stairwell on the 18th floor, the top floor of the building, Essex startled three Howard Johnson's employees, all of whom were African-American. Essex told them not to worry, as he was only there to kill white people. The employees did not share his racist views and promptly notified the authorities. In the hallway in front of room 1829, Essex found 27-year-old vacationing Dr. Robert Steagall and his wife Betty, a couple from Virginia enjoying a belated honeymoon. After a struggle with Dr. Steagall, Essex shot him in the chest and shot Betty in the back of the head. The Steagalls both died of their injuries. In the room, he soaked telephone books with lighter fluid and set them ablaze under the curtains. Essex dropped a Pan-African flag onto the floor beside the bodies of the couple as he left. On the 11th floor, Essex shot his way into several rooms and set more fires. On the 11th floor, he shot and killed Frank Schneider, the hotel's assistant manager, and shot Walter Collins, the hotel's general manager. Collins died in the hospital three weeks later as a result of his gunshot wounds.
The police and fire department quickly arrived. Two officers tried to use a fire truck's ladder to enter the building, but were shot at by Essex. A few minutes later, Essex shot and killed NOPD Officers Phillip Coleman and Paul Persigo from his perch on the 18th floor. Times-Picayune photographer G.E. Arnold took an iconic photo as Coleman died of a head wound in Duncan Plaza. Arnold also captured a shot of a wounded Eighth District NOPD officer, Ken Solis, shot in the shoulder and leaning against a tree as another officer, Dave McCann, was trying to stop the bleeding, all while other police and bystanders take cover. While trying to rescue trapped officers, Deputy Superintendent Louis Sirgo was fatally shot in the spine by Essex. Lt. Lewis Townsend, a Tulane medical student, walked into the open field to carry Sirgo out of the line of fire, then returned to class.
Seeing the story on TV, Lt. General Chuck Pitman of the United States Marine Corps offered the use of a CH-46 military helicopter to assist the police officers. The helicopter was loaded with armed men and dispatched to the hotel. By this time, Essex had retreated up to the roof of the building where he and the helicopter exchanged many rounds over many hours. As nightfall came, Essex managed to hole himself up in a concrete cubicle that would protect him in the southeast side of the roof. As he stepped out once again in the open to fire again on the helicopter, and after hitting the helicopter's transmission, Essex was barraged with fatal gunfire from police sharpshooters on the roofs of adjacent buildings as well as the automatic weapons aboard the helicopter. An autopsy later revealed more than 200 gunshot wounds.
Before the attack, the television station WWL received a handwritten note from Essex. It read:

Africa greets you. On December 31, 1972, aprx. 11 p.m., the downtown New Orleans Police Department will be attacked. Reason — many, but the death of two innocent brothers will be avenged. And many others.P.S. Tell pig Giarrusso the felony action squad ain't shit.Mata

Both were veterans, had the Baton Rouge precursors of police killing blacks, used Pan-African flags, followed Black Power movements, employed sniper shooting sprees, and left five police officers dead. Both were killed when law enforcers used unconventional killing machines - in the case from 1973, a military helicopter, and in the latest, a bomb carrying robot.

Which Cruz Was Photographed With Lee Harvey Oswald? A Manufactured Distraction?

In the most bizarre of weird Presidential election races ever, another strange twist just occurred this week. 

The National Enquirer, a tabloid with a tabloid mentality, has published for May 2, 2016, a "World Exclusive Investigation" in which they have tied a famed incident running up to the John F. Kennedy assassination to Ted Cruz.

The claim is that Ted Cruz's father, Rafael Cruz, was photographed with Lee Harvey Oswald in New Orleans.

It is as if this story is being floated to get these rumors out there to overturn them, or make them part of the fringe. Most conservative and rightwing blogs are taking the National Enquirer story with tongue firmly in cheek. 

Rumors of a link between Rafael Cruz and Lee Harvey Oswald first surfaced in the blogosphere in April 2016. The photo shows Lee Harvey Oswald handling out “Fair Play” leaflets, and a man standing nearby in the background has a passing resemblance to a young Rafael Cruz....Given lack of any proof besides a passing resemblence between the man in the photo and Rafael Cruz, we’re calling this one “unproven.” [See here, for more.]

But is a deeper truth being hidden? Some feel that's what may be happening here.

What might be the realities being revealed in the midst of this supposedly "tabloid news"?

Cuban Rafael Cruz, a pro-Batista, CIA connected Cuban in exile met his wife in New Orleans (home of Oswald, Guy Bannister, David Ferry, Clay Shaw and the great Jim Garrison). New Orleans was ground zero for the CIA’s Cuban manned “Operation Mongoose”, the Bay of Pigs and as we all know, the JFK Assassination. Anyone familiar with the assassination and the works of Mark Lane, Jim Garrison, Jim Marrs and David Lifton…and many more will be stunned by this troubling information. 

It also seems that Cuban Rafael Cruz was also in Dallas, or nearby, the day of John Kennedy was assassinated.

Rafael Cruz fled to Canada shortly after Kennedy’s assassination to work in the “oil business”. The oil business? Like Zapata Oil, the CIA front company run by George Herbert Walker Bush? Yeah, that oil business.

Rafael Cruz returned to the United States after Nixon had been elected and the Bay of Pigs/JFK Assassination was put to rest for a while. He returned illegally to the United States with his son Rafael Eduardo “Ted” Cruz.

Ted Cruz got connections into Princeton and Harvard and went to work directly for the Bush Family where he met his wife, Heidi Cruz, who was also working for the Bush Family.

So how was it that Ted Cruz got right into the Bush Family Cabal so easily? His father, Rafael had favors to be paid back. Allen Dulles is long dead, but George Herbert Walker is still alive…and GHB knows Ted Cruz very, very well.

Though many wish to ignore the source that produced a wider reading on these claims, it is not the National Enquirer, but Wayne Madsen out front with this story in his April 6, 2016 article,  "Was the father of presidential hopeful Cruz involved in the JFK assassination?"

What's the normal background info for the photos?

On May 26, 1963, Lee Harvey Oswald wrote to the New York City headquarters of the pro-Castro Fair Play for Cuba Committee, proposing to rent "a small office at my own expense for the purpose of forming a FPCC branch here in New Orleans." Three days later, the FPCC responded to Oswald's letter advising against opening a New Orleans office "at least not ... at the very beginning." In a follow-up letter, Oswald replied, "Against your advice, I have decided to take an office from the very beginning."
On May 29, Oswald ordered the following items from a local printer: 500 application forms, 300 membership cards, and 1,000 leaflets with the heading, "Hands Off Cuba." According to Lee Oswald's wife Marina, Lee told her to sign the name "A.J. Hidell" as chapter president on his membership card.
On August 5 and 6, according to anti-Castro militant Carlos Bringuier, Oswald visited him at a store he owned in New Orleans. Bringuier was the New Orleans delegate for the anti-Castro organization Directorio Revolucionario Estudantil (DRE). Bringuier would later tell the Warren Commission that he believed Oswald's visits were an attempt by Oswald to infiltrate his group. On August 9, Oswald turned up in downtown New Orleans handing out pro-Castro leaflets. Bringuier confronted Oswald, claiming he was tipped off about Oswald's leafleting by a friend. A scuffle ensued and Oswald, Bringuier, and two of Bringuier's friends were arrested for disturbing the peace. Prior to leaving the police station, Oswald requested to speak with an FBI agent. Oswald stated that he was a member of the New Orleans branch of the Fair Play for Cuba Committee which he claimed had 35 members and was led by A. J. Hidell. In fact, Oswald was the branch's only member and it had never been chartered by the national organization.
A week later, on August 16, Oswald again passed out Fair Play for Cuba leaflets with two hired helpers, this time in front of the International Trade Mart. The incident was filmed by WDSU, a local TV station. The next day, Oswald was interviewed by WDSU radio commentator William Stuckey, who probed Oswald's background. A few days later, Oswald accepted Stuckey's invitation to take part in a radio debate with Carlos Bringuier and Bringuier's associate Edward Scannell Butler, head of the right-wing Information Council of the Americas (INCA). But was it the right Cruz?

On August 9, 1963, Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested on Canal Street in New Orleans and charged with disturbing the peace. The arrest was the result of a confrontation with anti-Castro Cuban exile Carlos Bringuier and two of his associates, Miguel Cruz and Celso Hernandez. Oswald was handing out pro-Castro leaflets when Bringuier, Hernandez and Cruz approached him. When Hernandez tried to take the leaflets from Oswald, a shouting match began; the New Orleans police then intervened, arresting all four individuals. Source. 

Miguel Cruz was a Carlos Bringuier associate. The Cruz photographed is one of the people that Oswald "hired," correct? Was he Rafael Cruz? What Cruz is who?

Oswald was the "president" and only member in New Orleans, with the address as "544 Camp Street, New Orleans, La." This was directly across from Lafayette Square, New Orleans, the center of the intelligence network in the city.

 
The Fair Play for Cuba Committee (FPCC) was organized by Robert Bruce Taber in 1960. It was an activist group set up in New York in April 1960, not New Orleans or even Florida.

The FPCC's purpose was to provide grassroots support for the Cuban Revolution against attacks by the United States government, once Fidel Castro began openly admitting his commitment to Marxism and began the expropriation and nationalization of Cuban assets belonging to U.S. corporations. The FPCC opposed the Bay of Pigs invasion of 1961, the imposition of the United States embargo against Cuba, and was sympathetic to the Cuban view during the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962.
Subsidiary Fair Play for Cuba groups were set up throughout the United States and Canada. Among its twenty-nine early notable supporters were William Appleman Williams, Norman Mailer, Truman Capote, James Baldwin, Jean-Paul Sartre, Allen Ginsberg, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Waldo Frank, Alan Sagner and Carleton Beals.
The Fair Play for Cuba Committee has been the subject of much speculation. It was accused by some of being a Soviet front, with little real support outside of a few dedicated American communists. However, it seems to have been connected to the Trotskyist Socialist Workers' Party.
The FPCC achieved notoriety through the activities of Lee Harvey Oswald in New Orleans. Oswald would later be accused of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
Vincent T. Lee shut down the national Fair Play for Cuba Committee in December 1963 when its landlord evicted the group from its national office; the notoriety accorded to it, following the Kennedy assassination, made it impossible for the committee to continue its work. The group continued to exist in Canada and still published several pamphlets until late 1964. After the Nine Times Second Line parade passed by the Bunny Friend Park playground, located in District Nine, a shooting occurred.

At least 16 people were shot at the New Orleans, Louisiana park when a gunman opened fire on a crowd of hundreds of people gathered in the playground for a video filming. Local media describe a chaotic scene, with the injured on the ground and ambulances rushing away.

At least 10 of the injured shooting victims have been hospitalized at the University Medical Center, local media reported.

Reporters working on the scene said the crowd of about 500 also included kids and teens.

Bunny Friend Park is named in honor of Joseph E. Friend and Ida Weis Friend's son, Bunny, who died at age 18.

Ida donated $4,000 to a fund to create a playground in memory of her son, and the fund grew into more than $10,000. She also donated a block of land to the city between Gallier and Desire streets. The playground established there was named Bunny Friend Park, and two of the the streets bordering the playground were later officially designated North Bunny Friend and South Bunny Friend.

Bourbon Street Shooting

An angry-sounding man shot at another man and then emptied his gun into the crowd in the 700 block of Bourbon Street early Sunday morning, June 29, 2014, according to an eyewitness.

New Orleans Police say nine people have been injured during a shooting on celebrated Bourbon Street.

Police spokesman Frank Robertson says the incident happened early Sunday. Seven people were hospitalized in stable condition, and a female was listed in critical condition. Another victim's condition was not available.

Bourbon Street is New Orleans' most famous street, a nightly swirl of bright neon and happy tourists with beverages in hand. The French Quarter's Bourbon Street is a blend of jazz joints, strip clubs, bars and four-star restaurants. Marie Laveau's House of Voodoo is located on the corner of St Ann. Reverend Zombie's House of Voodoo is down St. Peter Street from the site of the shooting.

Sunday morning's incident is the third major shooting on Bourbon Street in the last three years. In February on the Saturday before Mardi Gras, an argument in the 400 block of Bourbon Street led to a shooting that sent four people to the hospital. During Halloween in 2011 on that same block, one person was killed and seven others were injured after gunmen opened fire on each other in the crowd, according to the USA Today.

Rumors are developing early on February 3, 2013, that Beyoncé's Destiny's Child may reappear to perform at the NFL's Super Bowl XLVII's Halftime Show. What does it mean? What if it is only Beyoncé?

The day before the Phoenix shootings, another high-profile shooting took place. In Alabama, Jimmy Lee Dykes shot a school bus driver and took a boy hostage. The name Dykes originally referenced Hadrian's Wall (also known as Hadrian's Dyke), the most heavily fortified border in Roman Britain. This resonates with what RDR mentioned about Hummels's concern about border security.

The ongoing Alabama standoff is near Destiny Church. Destiny's Child has been in the news recently, as there has been speculation that the three woman singing group [which syncs with Anon's Singer (sing), Hummels (hum), Harmon (harmony) observation] will make their first (phoenix-like) public reappearance during the Super Bowl halftime show.

Destiny's Child's Beyoncé Knowles was in the news recently when she performed at Obama's inauguration. Public attention on this event increased when it turned out that she had sung along to a recording of the national anthem. Obama and football are also linked by a statement he made in a recent interview in which he criticized football as being dangerous.

The trailer for Scientologist Tom Cruise's new movie Oblivion shows a bombed-out football stadium. The "Birthplace of Scientology" is Phoenix, Arizona. The Dark Knight Rises also had a scene where a football field is destroyed. As mentioned in this post, the Phoenix Police Media Relations Officer is named James Holmes.

Obviously, my attention has been drawn to the upcoming Super Bowl game. In some of my writings on this blog, I have used the metaphor of an alchemical current connecting Red Dawn events, and alchemical symbolism is to be found in this year's Super Bowl match-up between the Ravens and the 49ers.

Alchemists used the raven to symbolize the nigredo, or blackening, stage of the alchemical process. The alchemist experiences a dark night (Dark Knight) of the soul during this phase as he begins the journey of creating the Philosopher's Stone, a substance which can turn base metal into gold. Gold resonates with the Ravens' opposing team, as the 49ers were named after the prospectors who arrived in California around 1949 during the Gold Rush.

In the Downard/Hoffman reality tunnel, one of the primary goals of alchemy was the creation and destruction of primordial matter, a feat which was accomplished with the detonation of an atomic bomb at the Trinity Site. Destiny's Child recently released their first song since 2005: "Nuclear."
The alchemical current seems to be winding its way to New Orleans.

Let's hope it does not spark yet another tragedy.

Sunday Night Blackout Update

At 8:37 pm Eastern/7:37 pm Central, the Superdome experienced a blackout of half of the dome's lights during the Super Bowl game. This seemed to be an interesting event, in light of Enki's predictive notion that an "alchemical" dark k/night might be in play on this February 3th. Various people shared the following reactions and insights.

Brizdaz wrote in "Black Sunday: Loren Was Right, Sort Of," about the Black Sunday image I'd posted (before the game) above: "I remember seeing this poster that he used and thought, 'What's he saying that half the stadium lights would be knocked out on the night?' Well it turns out that they were, more or less."

A tweet from tobadzistsini noted this from Bane, in The Dark Knight Rises: "I was born in the darkness, molded by it, I didn't see the light until I was already a man."

Cory Panshin wrote, "Power outage? Well, I guess it's a more benign form of 'dark night' than many....It seems that only half the lights went out in an exact semi-circle. How yin-yang -- or Manichaean -- or something."

One of the more popular ads was one that goes into a blackout midway through it: "Wheat Thins - Night Vision Googles."

How about the links to the movie trailers appearing during the Super Bowl? Or the others mentioned or not mentioned?

Various movie trailers shown during this Super Bowl seemingly picked up on the "dark theme," included Iron Man 3 (May 3, 2013), Star Trek into Darkness (May 17, 2013), The Lone Ranger (July 3, 2013), and with this one mentioned, Thor: The Dark World (November 8, 2013). 

Intriguingly absent from the Super Bowl was a trailer for Man of Steel, producer Christopher Nolan's and others' dark film opening June 14, 2013.

Then there were these attempts at fast marketing, post-blackout:
