Trident Times: Death In Lightning Strike Off Venice Beach

During these Neptunian times, is it Poseidon/Neptune showing his full wrath or Zeus/Jupiter giving some anger back in the direction of the watery god?

The god Nepture/Poseidon, with trident in hand, is out for a surf with his 

sea goddess wife and/or consort Amphitrite/Salacia, seen with their son, 

Triton, who usually also carries a trident. He is seen here instead with his 

other favorite item, the twisted conch shell.

Poseidon is one of the twelve Olympian deities of the pantheon in Greek mythology. His main domain is the ocean, and he is called the "God of the Sea." Additionally, he is referred to as "Earth-Shaker" due to his role in causing earthquakes, and has been called the "tamer of horses." He is usually depicted as an older male with curly hair and beard.
The earliest attested occurrence of the name, written in Linear B, is Po-se-da-o or Po-se-da-wo-ne, which correspond to Poseidaōn and Poseidawonos in Mycenean Greek; in Homeric Greek it appears as Ποσειδάων (Poseidaōn); in Aeolic as Ποτειδάων (Poteidaōn); and in Doric as Ποτειδάν (Poteidan), Ποτειδάων (Poteidaōn), and Ποτειδᾶς (Poteidas). A common epithet of Poseidon is Γαιήοχος Gaiēochos, "Earth-shaker," an epithet which is also identified in Linear B tablets. Another attested word E-ne-si-da-o-ne, recalls his later epithets Ennosidas and Ennosigaios indicating the chthonic nature of Poseidon.
The origins of the name "Poseidon" are unclear. One theory breaks it down into an element meaning "husband" or "lord" [Greek πόσις (posis), from PIE *pótis] and another element meaning "earth" [δᾶ (da), Doric for γῆ (gē)], producing something like lord or spouse of Da, i.e. of the earth; this would link him with Demeter, "Earth-mother." ...
Another theory interprets the second element as related to the word *δᾶϝον dâwon, "water"; this would make *Posei-dawōn into the master of waters. There is also the possibility that the word has Pre-Greek origin. Plato in his dialogue Cratylus gives two alternative etymologies: either the sea restrained Poseidon when walking as a foot-bond (ποσί-δεσμον), or he knew many things (πολλά εἰδότος or πολλά εἰδῶν). Source.

A July 27, 2014 mid-afternoon lightning strike hit the water off Venice Beach, California, and killed a 20-year-old man. It instantly injured 15 or more others — one of them critically. The second victim, who is in critical condition, was a 55-year-old male who had been surfing.

The beachfront in Venice was hit by at least four direct lightning strikes about 2:20 p.m., said Stuart Seto of the National Weather Service.

Firefighters said a bolt of lightning hit the water and the electrical current then traveled, hitting swimmers and surfers in and out of the water near the 3500 block of Ocean Front Walk. The man who died was swimming in the water and disappeared under the waves after the lightning strike. He was pulled from the water 90 minutes later, given CPR and transported to Marina Del Rey Hospital in critical condition, according to ABC7.

The 15-minute thunderstorm struck as more than 20,000 people were visiting the southern portion of Venice Beach, sending beach-goers scrambling for cover and nearly six dozen rescue workers into action.

The Los Angeles City Fire Department sent 47 firefighters, eight ambulances and five fire engines to the 3800 block of Ocean Front Walk in Venice after receiving the first call for aid at 2:21 p.m., said fire spokeswoman Katherine Main. Firefighters set up a triage area on the south end of the parking lot from Venice Pier, reported the Los Angeles Times.

The deceased young man has not been identified yet.

"It was all blue skies, except there were some dark clouds coming from the south," Gabe Anderson, 28, said. "Then just one big crack of lightning — pretty unexpected."

Lightning from the same storm hit Catalina Island about 90 minutes earlier, injuring a 57-year-old man on a golf course in Avalon and igniting two brush fires.

A car caught on fire after lightning struck a home in Redondo Beach, also on Sunday, knocking wires down. The incident occurred in the 1600 block of Haynes Lane. Three to four homes were damaged. No one was injured.

Trident Times: Two Venices, Three Deaths

Coincidence? Synchromysticism strikes again? Tridents abound. And Neptune's kingdom is involved again. 

As I noted earlier today, a July 27, 2014 mid-afternoon lightning strike hit the water off Venice Beach, California, killing a 20-year-old man and injuring several people, one critically.

The identity of the man who died has been confirmed.

The parents of Notre Dame High School graduate Nick Fagnano confirmed Monday morning that their son was killed after lightning struck while he was in the water at Venice Beach.
Fagnano, an only child, was a 2012 graduate of Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks and had also attended Santa Barbara City College and Santa Monica City College. He had been living with his parents in downtown Los Angeles since December and was about to enter USC as a junior, where he was planning on studying urban development, his parents said. Los Angeles Daily News.

Publisher/author Adam Parfrey has written me to pass along a few syncs about this Venice/Venice Beach, California location.

"The Feral House logo is trident-shaped [seen below]. The most recent book we published under the Process Media imprint is about the strange and defunct amusement park on the Venice/Santa Monica border called Pacific Ocean Park," writes Parfrey.

"The main attraction/icon there was King Neptune who had his own trident," emails Adam Parfrey. "Here’s King Neptune ad from POP [above, at top]."

The timing seems more than coincidental to these events. Pacific Ocean Park: The Rise and Fall of Los Angeles' Space Age Nautical Pleasure Pier was published on July 22, 2014. It is authored by Christopher Merritt and Domenic Priore, with a foreword by Beach Boys member Brian Wilson.

The climactic scene in the final episode of the television series The Fugitive ("The Judgment, Part 2)" was shot at Pacific Ocean Park. Filmed on location just prior the park's closure in the fall of 1967, the park's "Mahi, Mahi" ride tower was the setting for the dramatic face off between Dr. Richard Kimble (David Janssen) and the fictional one-armed man. 

The episode of the Twilight Zone series titled "In Praise of Pip," starring Jack Klugman and Billy Mumy, was also filmed there. 

An episode of The Man From U.N.C.L.E. was filmed in the park. 

The park was the setting of an episode of the television series Route 66 (Season 2, Episode 29 "Between Hello and Goodbye") which aired May 11, 1962. Martin Milner's character Tod is shown working at King Neptune's Courtyard, and guest star Susan Oliver is depicted riding the Ocean Skyway. 

An episode of The Invaders, entitled "The Pit", televised on ABC in January, 1967, has scenes shot at Pacific Ocean Park after the park had closed. Source.

I've been talking about the setting for the July 27, 2014 lightning strike being Venice Beach, California, where Nick Fagnano was killed. The lightning bolt reportedly hit the water at around 2:20 pm Pacific time. Fagnano's body was found about 2:45 pm.

Now things getting really strange.

As shared by Todd Campbell, also earlier on Sunday afternoon, another man died on a Venice beach - but in Florida. He was killed when a plane fell on him from the sky.

About 2:45 p.m. Eastern, Sunday, July 27, 2014, a 1972 Piper Cherokee lost a wheel, damaged a wing and smashed its propeller shortly after making a distress call to Venice Municipal Airport. Caspersen Beach, where the plane crashed, is just south of the airport, at the southern tip of the island of Venice, Florida. It landed on a man and his daughter.

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office identified the victims as 36-year-old Army Sgt. 1st Class Ommy Irizarry, who was hit by the plane and died, and his daughter Oceana (please note her name), 9, who was injured. [Update: A 9-year-old girl who was walking on a Florida beach when she was hit by a small plane making an emergency landing has died, the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday, July 29, 2014.]

Reportedly, Irizarry's wife Rebecca was treated for cardiac arrest at Venice Regional Bayfront Health. The couple and their children were vacationing in Venice, Florida, for their 9th anniversary. Media accounts say they were from Georgia, but Irizarry's Facebook page notes he is from and lives in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. 

Irizarry was a diver, loved sharks, and served in the U.S. Army in Iraq.

Irizarry is a respelling of Basque Irizarri, a variant of the Basque surname Irizar meaning "ancient village," from iri "village" + zar "old."

Uninjured from the plane crash are 57-year-old Karl Kokomoor, the pilot, and his passenger David Theen, 60, both of Englewood, Florida.

Odessa, Texas

Odessa means "wrathful," and is the feminine version of Odysseus, which has taken on the connotative meaning of wandering, traveling adventure in honor of the famous voyage in Homer's epic The Odyssey. 

Odysseus ~ to hate. The name Texas is derived from the word "teyshas" (meaning friends or allies), from the native American Caddo language.

Odysseus ~ hate + Texas ~ allies = Hate allies.

Aurora, Colorado

On August 10, 2019, at 5:02 PM Eastern, Enki sent this predictive comment to Twilight Language:

An event on another anniversary date caught my eye recently. On, July 20, 2019, the seven-year anniversary of the Aurora shooting by James “Joker” Holmes, another joker appeared. Damik A. Disdier, wearing a clown mask and wielding a prop chainsaw, led police on a bizarre low-speed chase which ended at Southern California’s synchromystic hotspot Venice Beach.
Upon arriving at the beach, Disdier abandoned his vehicle and fled on foot. In the final minutes of the surreal chase, Disdier stopped to assist someone in burying a friend in the sand. A clown appearance on July 20 already had me nervous about another coming rash of Red Dawn events, but this especially odd, seemingly symbolic behavior triggered this morbid thought: They will not be able to bury the dead quickly enough.

The recent spate of high-profile mass shootings suggests my intuition was correct. I expect things to continue to heat up through 2019’s Summer of Hate, and even extend into the fall. A synchromystic Evil Spirit of 76 seems to be at work here, with The Joker scheduled to premiere at the original Venice’s 76th Venice Film Festival on August 31, and with the film's wide release happening October 4, 76 days from the Venice Beach clown craziness. These two dates will be ones to watch for jokers going wild.

Enki was correct. As he wrote to me on August 31st, "so far today we have had clowns marching at a straight pride event in Boston, a mass stabbing near Lyon, and a roaming shooter in Texas. Crazy times."

August 31 turned into a day of violence.  This took place exactly 4 weeks after the two shootings in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio. In America, it apparently began at the Twin Peaks and ended at the Cinergy!

The first the clowns, then the hints that this would be a day filled with random attacks came from France.

Venice, Italy

The film festival premiere of the Todd Phillips-Joaquin Phoenix version of Joker went over well on August 31, 2019.

Joker was received with an eight-minute standing ovation following its premiere at the Venice Film Festival Saturday, Variety reports.
Director-writer Todd Phillips and stars Joaquin Phoenix and Zazie Beetz were on hand for the event. During a press conference, Phillips said his drama was inspired by 1928 silent film The Man Who Laughs as well as the Martin Scorsese-directed Taxi Driver, Raging Bull and The King of Comedy, three of Scorsese’s seminal works each headlined by Joker co-star Robert De Niro.

Boston, Massachusetts

The Straight Pride Parade occurred on Saturday, August 31, 2019, in downtown Boston, Massachusetts, and attracted counter-protesters, as well as a heavy police presence. Within the parade, according to photographs taken there, clowns were in attendance. Were they part of it, or in protest of it?

The "straight pride parade" in Boston got people so enraged by anyone who would participate, an epic trolling campaign started with people posting pictures of clowns as "participants" of the event.

Events went downhill from there. But the clowns were at the fringes of yesterday's tragic events. Was that an indicator of things to come?

Lyon, France: 1 Dead, 8 Injured

One person was killed and eight others wounded during a knife attack on people waiting for a bus near the Laurent-Bonnevay metro station in Villeurbanne near Lyon, France. Three of the eight victims were seriously wounded.
The single fatality was a 19-year-old man, Villeurbanne Mayor Jean-Paul Bret told reporters.
The assault occurred in Villeurbanne, a suburb of the southeastern city of Lyon, about 4:30 p.m.
A suspect has been taken into custody, according to Lyon Mayor Gerard Collomb. The motive for the attack is unknown. The suspected attacker is a 33-year-old asylum seeker, Sultan Marmed Niazi from Afghanistan.
(On September 9, 2018, seven people were injured, including two British tourists, during an attack by a man wielding a knife and an iron bar in northeastern Paris, police said. The assault came after a series of knife attacks in France.)

Midland to Odessa, Texas: 7 Killed, 1 Gunman Killed, 21 Injured

A gunman in West Texas killed seven people while firing from his vehicle and then from a hijacked mail truck. He was fatally shot by police in a gun battle in a movie theater parking lot, authorities said Saturday, August 31, 2019.
At least 21 people were injured, including some who were wounded by the shooter. Three law enforcement officers were injured: one from the Department of Public Safety, one officer from the Midland Police Department and one officer from Odessa Police Department.
The shooter was identified as a white male in his 30s. His name and a motive were not given.
The chain of events began when a Department of Public Safety officer pulled over a vehicle on an interstate highway Saturday. Reports said it began at a Twin Peaks restaurant, someone was shot outside an Olive Garden, also shootings near a Home Depot, Walmart, then at random cars on Highway 191, between Midland and Odessa. It all ended at the Cinergy movie theater in Odessa, where the gunman was shot dead. He was identified as Seth Aaron Ator, 36, of Odessa.

Leila Hernandez, 15, is one of at least seven people killed when a gunman hijacked a postal truck and began firing indiscriminately in the neighboring cities of Midland and Odessa, Texas.

United States Postal worker Mary Granados was shot and killed when the gunman hijacked her truck.

The final episode of David Lynch and Mark Frost's Twin Peaks Season Three (released two years ago on September 3, 2017) takes place partially in Odessa, Texas.  Cooper arrives at Judy's Diner in Odessa, Texas, and obtains the address of Carrie Page who resembles Laura Palmer. Cooper, believing she is Laura, drives her to Twin Peaks. He finds the Palmer house occupied by different owners. Confused, Cooper asks Carrie what year it is. Carrie hears Sarah calling Laura's name and screams. The house lights go out. The season closes with a visual callback to Laura whispering to Cooper in the Red Room. ~ sent in by various contributors.

Déjà Vu, Sync Quick News, and Hanging Man

For fans of Alan Abbadessa-Green's rather addictive frequent (usually on Thursdays) short video Sync Quick News, from Sync Book Press, the one on December 4, 2014, was, well, provocative. The Sync Quick News' "Cops Cameras and Cards" clicked on all pistols.

Mixing nicely with the content, I was struck by Green's use of a word - déjà vu - early in his news that I also found had popped up in the news I was following on the 3rd of December. It was that kind of week. 

Déjà vu, from the French, literally "already seen," is the phenomenon of having the strong sensation that an event, feeling, or perception currently taking place has been experienced in the past, whether it has actually happened or not.

As it turns out, I was looking into a report of five people being shot outside a restaurant in Newport News Tuesday night, at about 8:20 pm, December 2nd. The telling name of the location: Déjà Vu Restaurant and Lounge, Newport News, near Norfolk, Virginia. The Déjà Vu site is attached to Wynnwood Plaza Hotel. The victims were ages 28, 32, 42, 45, and 59, and were together. One was a Navy sailor, and now the Déjà Vu is off-limits to Navy personnel.

Had I just heard some news from Newport? Or Newport News (oh ya, on November 28th)? Or Newtown? Or Newton? Was this the same story or another? And that restaurant name? Whoa. Oh, and yes, I was recently in Newport, Connecticut. 

"It is in the humble opinion of this narrator that this is not just 'something that happened.' This cannot be 'one of those things'....This, please, cannot be that. And for what I would like to say, I can't. This was not just a matter of chance.…These strange things happen all the time." ~ Magnolia, 1999.

Alan Green's video news also, in and of itself, gave me a déjà vu feeling because it spent time talking about this Twilight Language's and the Mask of God's recent discussions of the Hanging Man Tarot Card.

This is the week when celebrities and syncs became news.

According to Vice, actor Andrew Keegan started a new age temple and spiritual movement in Venice, California, called "Full Circle." (Venice Beach? Venice Beach? See here and here.)

"Synchronicity. Time. That's what it's all about," Keegan told Vice. "Whatever, the past, some other time. It's a circle; in the center is now. That's what it's about."

Andrew Keegan's last film role is an uncredited policeman in The Dark Knight Rises (2012), which, of course, starred Heath Ledger as the Joker.

What occurred also earlier in the week is that I randomly stumbled across a repeat broadcast of a Tosh.0 episode about "furries" (people who dress up as furred animals for fun, frolic, and sometimes sexual encounters). It gave me a deep déjà vu feeling watching Tosh's creepy scenario. But not because I had seen this Tosh.0 episode before, for I had not.

Originally broadcast on September 3, 2013, this specific one was noted as being from Season 5, Episode 5. You can see the video entitled "Furries-Kid," here.

In one of his "web redemptions," Tosh decides to stage a "celebrity" furries party. The associated identities assigned to various characters in the sketch are, well, coincidentally bizarre and déjà vu.

Tosh, on the left above, with skin-colored tights on, and elaborate fake body fur, says he is "Robin Williams."

At the "party," which is sort of a furrie déjà vu version of Stanley Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut, the "Williams" character goes around identifying the costumed "celebrities."

Coming to the pictured pink furrie above, who is engaging in motions suggestive of masturbation and hanging himself, "Williams" identifies this is furrie as "Philip Seymour Hoffman." What?

This was prophetic, in a way, as far as these two characters exchanging behaviors.

[Little did I know how "prophetic." See "Eyes Wide Furry."]

Back to what took place after Tosh's fiction was produced, in an act of parasuicide, the real Philip Seymour Hoffman, 46, died February 2, 2014 (Groundhog Day), with a syringe in his arm. Hoffman's death was caused by "acute mixed drug intoxication, including heroin, cocaine, benzodiazepines and amphetamine," according to the New York City's Medical Examiner's office. 

This all seemed a bit of déjà vu, for Hoffman's friend, Heath Ledger's autopsy result of February 6, 2008, from the same medical examiner's office said Ledger had died "as the result of acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam and doxylamine." Heath Ledger was 28, when he died January 22, 2008. 

By the way, the film Groundhog Day (1993) is the ultimate cinematic treatment of déjà vu, when the same day repeats over and over again.

A few months after Hoffman's death, on August 11, 2014, the real Robin McLaurin Williams, 63, died in his Paradise Cay, California, home. The Marin County Sheriff's Office deputy coroner stated Williams had hanged himself with a belt and died from asphyxiation.

Williams hanged himself (in the real world). Not Heath Ledger nor Philip Seymour Hoffman (who both, through film and in Tosh's fiction, did hang). The fiction foreshadowed the reality, however, among friends, in a strange twist of programming.

On December 1st, just by "coincidence," I found myself watching Magnolia again. And there was Philip Seymour Hoffman again.
