UFO Disclosure Author William Tompkins Dies

UFO author William Tompkins, 94, passed away at about 2 am Pacific Time in San Diego, California, on Monday, August 21, 2017, the day of the American solar eclipse experience. 

Tompkins, author of Selected by Extraterrestrials: My life in the top secret world of UFOs, think-tanks and Nordic secretaries (CreateSpace, 2015), passed after only two years of stepping forward to share his ufological insights.

From an early age, he felt he was chosen to have and be given special insights.

Seventeen-year old Bill Tompkins is shown here as he pointed out the detail on his models to U.S. Navy Captain H. C. Gearing, commandant of the 11th Naval District in San Diego (not picture in this cropped image). Bill was soon inducted into the Navy.

William Tompkins of Oceanside, California, is pictured displaying one of the 307 ships in his model fleet. A modeler since age 9, he started in earnest in his teens and built an entire fleet that illustrates the naval history throughout America's history.

Tompkins got involved in ufology in the following years. 

Now he has died.

On Sunday [August 20, 2017] I got an email from Bill’s son Dean saying that on Saturday [August 19, 2017] he had a “brain bleed and is expected to pass away soon.” He was on his way to Southern California.
Later Sunday [August 20, 2017] I talked to Mary who said he had fallen twice, and didn’t respond the second time so they called an ambulance. He was taken to Scripps La Jolla where they concluded, according to Mary, it was a “blood tumor” in the brain and was inoperable.
This morning I got a call from one of his nieces, saying he passed at 2 AM this morning [August 21, 2017], and that they would let me know when and where there will be a service.

I always admired the life, thoughts, and comedy of Dick Gregory. We shared Southern Illinois University-Carbondale before it all started going down - and then all hell broke loose. We were Salukis. Even overlapped in diet, politics, and senses of humor. He was a great man that some ignored.

The 1950s became the 1960s. They killed JFK, MLK, and Bobby. As well as Medgar, Malcolm, and Fred. Dick Gregory spoke to an emerging generation, whether white or black, whether they wanted to hear him or not.

Now.

The Eclipse. The dark sun. Carbondale. The timing (8-19-2017) seems right for him to leave. Sad.

The Southern wrote:

Dick Gregory, the comedian and activist and who broke racial barriers in the 1960s and used his humor to spread messages of social justice and nutritional health, has died. He was 84.

Gregory, who attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale on a track scholarship in the 1950s, died late Saturday in Washington, D.C. after being hospitalized for about a week, his son Christian Gregory told The Associated Press. He had suffered a severe bacterial infection.

In 1961, while working at the black-owned Roberts Show Bar in Chicago, Dick Gregory was spotted by Hugh Hefner performing the following material before a largely white audience:

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. I understand there are a good many Southerners in the room tonight. I know the South very well. I spent twenty years there one night.

Last time I was down South I walked into this restaurant and this white waitress came up to me and said, "We don't serve colored people here." I said, "That's all right. I don't eat colored people. Bring me a whole fried chicken."

Then these three white boys came up to me and said, "Boy, we're giving you fair warning. Anything you do to that chicken, we're gonna do to you." So I put down my knife and fork, I picked up that chicken and I kissed it. Then I said, "Line up, boys!"

Gregory unsuccessfully ran for President of the United States in 1968 as a write-in candidate of the Freedom and Peace Party, which had broken off from the Peace and Freedom Party. He garnered 47,097 votes, including one from Hunter S. Thompson, with fellow activist Mark Lane as his running mate in some states, David Frost in others, and Dr. Benjamin Spock in Virginia and Pennsylvania garnering more than the party he had left. The Freedom and Peace Party also ran other candidates, including Beulah Sanders for New York State Senate and Flora Brown for New York State Assembly. His efforts landed him on the master list of Nixon's political opponents.

Shortly after this time Gregory became an outspoken critic of the Warren Commission findings that President John Kennedy was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald. On March 6, 1975, Gregory and assassination researcher Robert J. Groden appeared on Geraldo Rivera's late night ABC talk show Goodnight America. An important historical event happened that night when the famous Zapruder film of JFK's assassination was shown to the public on TV for the first time. The public's response and outrage to its showing led to the forming of the Hart-Schweiker investigation, which contributed to the Church Committee Investigation on Intelligence Activities by the United States, which resulted in the United States House Select Committee on Assassinations investigation. Death Countdown to August 22/25

Everyone is waiting for August 21, 2017, for the Solar Eclipse. I'm more worried about the next day.

There are now elaborate Hopkinsville, Kentucky celebrations planned. These are in conjunction with the solar events, because in 1955, on August 21, the Kelly-Hopkinsville creature attack happened.

The Kelly-Hopkinsville encounter is a favorite among UFOlogists and even played a role in the making of E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. It's also the inspiration for the Kelly Little Green Men Days Festival, held annually since 2011.
This year's festival, of course, has an added component: The full solar eclipse will arrive on the 62nd anniversary of the invasion and some wonder if the UFO will return under cover of darkness at 1:24 p.m. Source.

The Kelly creatures seem to have also inspired the look of the Gremlins in the movie of the same name.

Newsweek and other media outlets have noted that "THE SOLAR ECLIPSE COULD BRING LIZARD PEOPLE, SOUTH CAROLINA EMERGENCY OFFICIALS WARN (REALLY)."

South Carolina does have a history with lizard men...and the text accompanying the map, which graphed eight lizard-man sightings, suggested the department was somewhat serious with its post. It read: "This historical map is in response to recent media reports about possible paranormal activity associated with the upcoming total eclipse. SCEMD does not know if Lizardmen become more active during a solar eclipse, but we advise that residents of Lee and Sumter counties should remain ever vigilant." Source.

After August 21, 2017, is history, my concern is for suicides on August 22nd. I'm not kidding. It is the anniversary of Layne Staley's birthday.

Now, this week, a new Staley tribute has appeared. Interesting timing.

As I've noted in "Grunge is suicide," "Will Grunge Suicide Copycats Continue?," "Linkin Park's Bennington Hangs Self on Cornell's Birthday," and "August 21-22: An Eclipse, Disasters, and Suicides?", we appear to be building up to something. Who knows what?

It seems like there may be more "Grunge's Copycat Carnage," in store, especially after Chris Cornell's hanging suicide was copycatted in Chester Bennington's hanging. And Bennington tied it to Cornell's birthday. 

Please note. These Grunge artists are tuned into death dates, birthdates, and important anniversaries.

And copying each other's behaviors.

Just to review:

August 22 is Layne Staley's birthday.

Layne Staley was born August 22, 1967. He was a member of Alice in Chains, Mad Season, Class of '99, Alice N' Chains, and Sleze. Staley died due to a parasuicidal combination of drugs and not eating, resulting in his death on April 5, 2002. It is to be recalled that April 5th is the anniversary date from 1994, when Kurt Cobain died by suicide by gunshot. Staley and Cobain. Cobain and Staley. A strong Grunge link.

August 25 is Mia Zapata's birthday.

Mia Zapata was born August 25, 1965. She was the singer of the Seattle indie band The Gits. Zapata spent her childhood in Louisville, Kentucky, and founded the Gits in Yellow Springs, Ohio, in 1986. She relocated to Seattle and became a powerful female voice in the Grunge movement in the area.

On July 7, 1993, Zapata was murdered in Seattle.

At around 2:00 a.m. on July 7, 1993, Mia Zapata left the Comet Tavern in the Capitol Hill area of Seattle. She stayed at a studio space in the basement of an apartment building located a block away, and briefly visited a friend who lived on the second floor. This was the last time she was seen alive. She may have walked a few blocks west, or north to a friend's apartment, or may have decided to take the long walk south to her home.

She was beaten, strangled, and raped in the Central District of Seattle. It is believed she encountered her attacker shortly after 2:15 a.m. Her body was not initially identified as she had no identification on her when she was found.

Zapata’s body was found with her arms out and her legs crossed, and she was placed between two Roman Catholic buildings on either side of the street. Zapata’s body was found, as Unsolved Mysteries noted, "lying face up in an almost Christ-like pose."

August 21-22: An Eclipse, Disasters, and Suicides?

On August 21, 2017, the shadow of a total solar eclipse will cross the entire continental United States, the first time since 1918, and astrologers, according to Newsweek and other sources, say perhaps it will be a disaster for President Trump. But he may not be the only one looking to the heavens to a troublesome late August.

There are some who are waiting for "something" to happen on August 21 or August 22. We all know that there will be specific talk of certain known events for those days. It is the unknown that is causing some fears to build. 

The solar eclipse has a good deal of people quite excited. Here is a sterling state by state breakdown (here) that you might wish to consult.

The path of the totality will cross several interesting locations.

Take for instance Carbondale, Illinois, the home of Southern Illinois University, claimant to the seat of all good Buckminster Fuller followers, and right in the middle of the mysterious Little Egypt triangle.

Then there is also Hopkinsville-Kelly, Kentucky, where the visit of the total eclipse will exactly match the August 21st anniversary of the infamous little creature invasion. I devote an entire chapter to these beasties in Mysterious America: The Ultimate Guide to the Nation’s Weirdest Wonders, Strangest Spots, and Creepiest Creatures.

On the evening of August 21, 1955, five adults and seven children arrived at the Hopkinsville police station claiming that small creatures were attacking their farmhouse and they had been holding them off with gunfire "for nearly four hours." Two of the adults, Elmer Sutton and Billy Ray Taylor, claimed they had been shooting at "twelve to fifteen" short, dark figures who repeatedly popped up at the doorway or peered into the windows. The creatures association with "aliens" and "spaceships" would be added later in the popular mind. The look of the creatures appear to have influenced the appearance of the Gremlins in the movie of the same name.

Will the New Madrid Earthquake, in some kind of a 2017 version shake the middle of America? Will an asteroid hit the Earth? Is there disaster written in the interaction between the Sun, Moon, and Earth? Some people use to talk about suicides when comets were flying by. Is there really going to be any human impacts due to this well-publicized eclipse? Only time will tell.

We all shall get through it, and August 22, 2017, will come and go. Correct?

Or will some choose suicide? This is actually a dangerous time for "Grunge suicides." And I have asked for people to talk to those who may feel suicidal around this time of the month. There is a traditional one-month syndrome with some suicides, and Chester Bennington did die by hanging on July 20, 2017. 

As I posted on July 26, 2017, "Will Grunge Suicide Copycats Continue?" Specifically I am looking at the date of August 22, for it is the birth date of Layne Staley, a member of Alice in Chains, who OD'ed on April 5, 2002, the anniversary date of Kurt Cobain's suicide.

Eclipse Today = Earthquakes Tomorrow?

Seeing it in Asia: The moon's shadow races eastward across Earth's surface at more than 2,000 mph, starting in China's southern Guangxi Province. Theoretically, the "Ring of Fire" could be visible just after 6 p.m. ET over Asian urban centers such as Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Macau, Taipei, Osaka and Tokyo. But for many of those cities, the weather outlook isn't that great: Cloudy skies or even thundershowers are in the forecast.

Seeing it in America: The partial eclipse begins over the U.S. West Coast and Canada around 8 p.m. ET, and even earlier in Alaska. Skywatchers in portions of Oregon, California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas can witness the "Ring of Fire" effect at its peak after 9 p.m. ET. As you go farther east, sunset becomes the limiting factor. The U.S. East Coast, for example, will miss out on all phases of the eclipse. Consult NASA's clickable map to find out what will be visible from your locale. The times are listed as UTC, so subtract five hours for Central Daylight Time, six hours for Mountain Time, and seven hours for Pacific Time. Don't forget to check the weather, too.

Meanwhile, for those looking for the links between full moons, new moons, eclipses, and strong earthquakes, all you have to do is read the morning news.

Aftershocks continued to be felt in northern Italy on Sunday after a strong earthquake in the early hours killed at least seven [updated Monday May 21st], injured more than 50 and reduced historic churches and castle towers to rubble.

The epicentre of the quake, which the US Geological Survey recorded at magnitude 6.0, was 3.2 miles below ground, north of Bologna in the Emilia-Romagna region, and was felt across Italy, from Liguria to the Veneto.

Hundreds of terrified residents fled their homes and hospitals were evacuated after the 20-second earthquake struck at 4.04 am. While major towns including Bologna emerged unscathed, helicopters were flying over remote villages as day broke, looking for collapsed buildings in which survivors could be trapped.

Four people killed by the quake were working overnight in factories which collapsed, including Geraldo Cesaro, 57, one of 10 employees at Tecopress, a maker of aluminium car parts in Sant' Agostino, where the town hall was seriously damaged and in danger of collapse.
