Ancient Indian Mound Marks Fountain Square Shooting

An early incorrect report said the police had detained a suspect in a shooting Thursday, September 6, 2018, at a Fifth Third Bank in Cincinnati's Fountain Square, a police dispatcher said. Details of the multiple shooting were not immediately available, but the dispatcher said the situation is no longer active, and a suspect was in custody. But the gunman was not in custody.

The Shooting

At 9:11 am local time, a white male in a business suit with a handgun began shooting individuals at the 5th 3rd Center Tower's loading dock and what was first said to be in the bank's lobby. Instead, individuals were shot in a familiar Cincinnati ice cream parlor, Graeter's Fountain Square.

Several people were transported to the hospital. The suspect was deceased. Additionally, three of the five injured were dead.

The gunman turns out not to be "white," per se, but probably Latino. His name is Omar Enrique Santa Perez.

The Location

Fifth Third Bank (5/3 Bank) is a bank headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio at Fifth Third Center. It is the principal subsidiary of Fifth Third Bancorp, a bank holding company.

The company is ranked 389th on the Fortune 500. It is on the list of largest banks in the United States.

The name "Fifth Third" is derived from the names of both of the bank's two predecessor companies: Third National Bank and Fifth National Bank, which merged in 1908.

The Mounds

The history of the location is "haunted."

An ancient Indian mound stood at the present site of Fountain Square when the first white settlers arrived. Foundation Square has been the symbolic and sacred center of Cincinnati since 1871. It was renovated in 1971.

In Marguerite S. Shaffer's edited book, Public Culture: Diversity, Democracy, and Community in the United States (2008), this observation is made:

"With eerie precision, one ancient mound lines up directly underneath the city's Central Parkway; another exactly where early Cincinnatians built the city's first market. The market closed in 1871 when an ornate fountain was the built on the same spot. This urban plaza, known as 'Fountain Square,' has long been regard as the city's spiritual center."

A film clip at Cincinnati's Natural History Museum ends with this voice-over concluding statement: "Ancient monuments brought people together for festivals, rituals, trade, and pleasure, a process we repeat today among newer monuments."

The mythical, folkloric, and sometimes based-in-reality legendary "ancient Indian burial ground" stories resulting in curses, suicides, and murders have resulted in a frequent underlying theme of fiction films and novels.

The Amityville Horror said to be based on a true story, tells of the haunted house being built on a burial ground. It probably wasn't.

Haunted Indian burial grounds have appeared since in Poltergeist II, in Stanley Kubrick’s adaptation of Stephen King’s The Shining, and in countless lesser-known films, novels, and TV shows.

Note how the largest of the mounds is centered between 5th and 3rd.

It appears that one of the illustrated Cincinnati earthwork is comparable to the Great Serpent Mound located elsewhere in Ohio.

One of the best known mounds in Ohio, located 60 miles from Cincinnati, is the the Great Serpent Mound. It is a 1,348-foot-long, three-foot-high prehistoric effigy mound on a plateau of the Serpent Mound crater along Ohio Brush Creek in Adams County, Ohio.

When investigating the cluster of suicides in Camden, Maine, in the 1990s, I was confounded with the frequent rumor that the local high school had been built on the site of an ancient Native American burial grounds. (Other problems lived there too, due to the link to the book/film Peyton Place.)

The Date

September 6, 1757 – Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette, French general is born (d. 1834).

September 6, 1901 – Leon Czolgosz (born May 5, 1873, Alpena, Michigan; lives in Warrensville, Ohio after 1898), an unemployed anarchist, shoots and fatally wounds US President William McKinley (born January 29, 1843, Niles, Ohio) at the Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo, New York.

September 6, 1966 – Prime Minister Hendrik Verwoerd, the architect of apartheid, is stabbed to death in Cape Town, South Africa during a parliamentary meeting.

September 6, 1972 – Munich massacre: Nine Israeli athletes die (along with a German policeman) at the hands of the Palestinian "Black September" terrorist group after being taken hostage at the Munich Olympic Games. Two other Israeli athletes were slain in the initial attack the previous day.

September 6, 2018 – Burt Reynolds (born February 11, 1936, Lansing, Michigan), American actor, director and producer dies in Jupiter, Florida. WKRP in Cincinnati (1978-1982) actress Loni Anderson was married to Burt Reynolds from 1988 to 1993.

11 in 11: USA Highways Report Multiple Shootings

Someone is going to be killed, soon, in a highway shootings. The handwriting is all over this one.

We've seen times like this before. Highway shooters and snipers targeting apparently random individuals from along roadways, hillsides, and who knows where.

In the case of the Beltway Snipers of October 2002, the hidden agenda may have been that the wife of one of the shooters was going to be killed or, to the AfricanAmerican conspiracy theorists, it was that the high profile Kenneth Bridges was the covert target. (See, "Snipers Fall," Chapter 3 of The Copycat Effect.)

Who will be the person killed in the distractions of all the highway shootings happening now?

The media, in early September 2015, has focussed on I-10, near Phoenix, Arizona. "Eleven shootings in 11 days" read reporters on their newscasts, and the news headlines on September 10, 2015, told us "Phoenix Sniper Strikes Again: Arizona Cops Confirm 11th Freeway Shooting."

CNN proclaimed "Phoenix Interstate-10 shootings: Copycat may have struck."

"11 shootings in 11 days along busy Phoenix highway," says the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

But beyond Arizona, did you realize that during the end of August and September 2015, car shootings have taken place in Ohio (Akron, Cleveland, Cincinnati), North Carolina (Durham, East Charlotte), and Michigan (near Grand Rapids), in addition to the Arizona shootings along Phoenix's I-10?

Two vehicles, a commercial truck and a car, were shot about 3:20 a.m. Tuesday, September 1st, on Ohio 8 in Akron. A 35-year-old man in a car was hit in the leg. Witnesses told police the gunman fired shots from an SUV driving in the same direction.

In Cleveland, Ohio, an officer reported that someone shot at his police van about 11:30 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 2015, as he drove along St. Clair Avenue between East 140th and East 148th streets. The officer reported hearing two shots fired.

Shortly before midnight on Sunday, August 30, 2015, a car was shot by someone traveling in another car as they drove along I-75, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. Three people were shot, including one who was severely injured from shots fired from a rifle. The passengers in the car that was hit were on their way to a nightclub.

 
In southwestern Michigan, at least five cars were struck by what investigators believe were bullets from between July 29 and Aug. 21, CNN reported. Most of those shootings — on I-94 and I-69 in Calhoun County — happened during the daytime, according to Channel 8 in Grand Rapids. No one was injured, but police believe the shootings are related. 

In Durham, North Carolina, a man was shot in his torso about 3:30 a.m. Saturday, August 29, 2015, according to WRAL-TV. A woman riding in the passenger seat was shot in the leg. 

In East Charlotte, North Carolina, a man driving about 6 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 2015, was shot. The man told WSOC-TV that the shooter's car swerved up behind his car, then fired one shot that hit his car. 

And, as you know, in Phoenix, Arizona, someone or some people have shot at 11 cars driving on Interstate 10, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety. One injury, a 13-year-old girl suffered a cut to her right ear occurred. 

Expect more.

In April 2015, there was a shooter or shooters along highways in Colorado.

With the Phoenix media attention, needless to say, there will be copycats. And it will get deadly. Killers have tended to hide their true motives in the midst of waves of shootings like these.

Where is all of this leading? I'm afraid to say someone is going to be killed on a highway from a mystery sniper, if the past is any indication.

St. Michael, Dragons, Serpentine Wall and the FBI

"And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, and prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven," (Rev. 12:7).

Two off-duty FBI employees were killed Thursday night, September 25, 2014, after their pleasure boat hit a barge on the Ohio River between Cincinnati and Newport, Kentucky. Where the accident occurred is of some interest.

Action 19 News noted:

First responders located the boat in the river near the Serpentine Wall and found two men dead on board. Cincinnati Police says the pleasure boat collided with a commercial tow boat around 11 p.m.

The FBI - Cincinnati division - released a statement on September 26th:

It is with great sadness that we advise that two FBI employees were involved in a tragic accident late last night that claimed their lives. At this time, family members are still being notified.

They were identified as John Stack II, 29, and Bruce Eastlick, 28. (Condolences to their loved ones and relatives, as well as their FBI family.)

The Serpentine Wall is a serpentine-shaped flood wall on the banks of the Ohio River. It was completed in 1976. The wall features steps descending to the river upon which visitors can sit and look across to Northern Kentucky. The riverfront wall is at Yeatman's Cove, between Sawyer Point park and the Public Landing. Sawyer Point is located at 720 E. Pete Rose Way (Riverfront) and is one of Cincinnati's "party" parks. A popular place to laze about is the Serpentine Wall steps that lead into the Ohio River.

Monday, September 29, 2014, is Michaelmas, feast day of the enemy of that serpent of old, a.k.a., the dragon.

As recounted by the Revelation of Saint John, at the end of the world, war will breakout between Heaven and Hell, between good and evil. As the commander of the Army of God, Archangel Michael leads the other angels in the fight against evil, represented in this picture by a seven-headed dragon.

Although he is always called "the Archangel," the Greek Fathers and many others place him over all the angels - as Prince of the Seraphim. St. Michael is the patron of grocers, mariners, paratroopers, police and sickness. Source.

Michaelmas, the feast of Saint Michael the Archangel (also the Feast of Saints Michael, Gabriel, Uriel and Raphael, the Feast of the Archangels, or the Feast of Saint Michael and All Angels) is a day in the Western Christian liturgical year that occurs on 29 September. Because it falls near the equinox, it is associated in the northern hemisphere with the beginning of autumn and the shortening of days. In medieval England, Michaelmas marked the ending and beginning of the husbandman's year, George C. Homans observes: "at that time harvest was over, and the bailiff or reeve of the manor would be making out the accounts for the year."
In Christianity, the Archangel Michael is the greatest of all the Archangels and is honored for defeating Lucifer in the war in heaven. He is one of the principal angelic warriors, seen as a protector against the dark of night, and the administrator of cosmic intelligence. Michaelmas has also delineated time and seasons for secular purposes as well, particularly in the United Kingdom and Ireland as one of the quarter days. Michaelmas was also one of the English, Welsh and Irish quarter days when accounts had to be settled. On manors, it was the day when a reeve was elected from the peasants.
In Anglican and Episcopal tradition, there are three or four archangels in its calendar for 29 September feast for St. Michael and All Angels: namely Michael, Gabriel and Raphael, and often, Uriel. The Bible itself identifies only Michael as "the archangel" (Book of Jude, verse 9) and does not identify any other creatures as being archangels.
Michaelmas is still celebrated in the Waldorf schools, which celebrate it as the "festival of strong will" during the autumnal equinox. Rudolf Steiner considered it the second most important festival after Easter, Easter being about Christ ("He is laid in the grave and He has risen"). Michaelmas is about man once he finds Christ ("He is risen, therefore he can be laid in the grave"), meaning man finds the Christ (risen), therefore he will be safe in death (laid in the grave with confidence). The day the reeve is elected?

Reeves is among those special family titles that have been pinpointed as playing a magnetic role in the "name game." John Keel once told me that people named Reeve/Reeves have a lot of strange experiences. Many monster witnesses have been named Reeves. A glance at the indexes of Fortean Times will show a sprinkling of Reeves and Reeve, as witnesses and contributors. A man named Reeves was the primary witness in a now famous Brooksville, Florida UFO case. 

As Jerome Clark has written: "A man so obscure as to be barely known to most other residents of the rural area where he lived, John F. Reeves, 66, became the focus of international attention in 1965, when he reported an encounter with a UFO and its occupant." 

Contactees Bryant and Helen Reeve reached celebrity status in the 1950s after writing their book, Flying Saucer Pilgrimage. Much has been written of the tragic coincidences whirling around the lives of the actors (George Reeves and Christopher Reeve) who played the television and movie Superman (a fictional character who was an alien come to Earth to assist humans) and the "superman" (Keanu Reeves) in The Matrix. Is there evil that needs to be fought? By the FBI? By paratroopers? By Reeves? By St. Michael? These are strange times in which we live.
