For, a moment, let me put this in context. With one name. Reeves.

The above Twitter discussion on "Reeves" stimulated me to gather a collection of my thoughts on this Reeves' name game and its associated forms, all in one place.

In April 1966, sixteen-year-old Kathy Reeves of Newport, Oregon, saw three tiny tree stumps walking across a meadow near her home. She was walking home with a friend across a large field when they saw three, small "walking stumps" moving across the field. They were multicolored; orange, white, yellow, blue even "watermelon"-colored.

Tim Binnall wrote in 2009:

Loren Coleman in his book Mothman and Other Curious Encounters, writes that Pioneer Mountain Road "had always been weird," according to locals. (It is a spooky kind of road.) Coleman plays his name game with Newport; commenting that the city is a "new port" for weird events to come through, and that the name Reeves seems to be at the top of the list for people experiencing Fortean events. The Oregon Reeves family experienced quite a bit of high strangeness after Kathy Reeves stumps sighting; colored lights moving both inside and outside the house, UFOs, etc. These events were witnessed by others on Pioneer Mountain, and UFOs were seen by several witnesses in other parts of Newport.

John A. Keel once raised the question of name selectivity in his writings: "Hundreds of thousands of phenomenal events have been described in newspapers, magazines and books, and hundreds of thousands of witnesses have been named in print. When dealing with such a large body of evidence – or population – certain laws of probability should surface. We might expect that more Smiths would see UFOs than anyone else, simply because there are more Smiths around. But, in actuality, the name Smith rarely appears in a UFO report."

What Keel found was that unusual names were the point of convergence for the phenomena. He saw McDaniel, Reeves/Reaves, Maddox, Heflin, Allen, Hill, and others, as being selected for UFO and related experiences, as I first pointed out in my "Name Game" chapter in 1983, in Mysterious America.

The witnesses’ name, Reeves, is among those special family titles that have been pinpointed as playing a magnetic role in the “name game.” John Keel once told me that people named Reeve/Reeves have a lot of strange experiences. Many monster witnesses have been named Reeves. A glance at the indexes of Fortean Times will show a sprinkling of Reeves and Reeve, as witnesses and contributors.

A man named Reeves was the primary witness in a now famous Brooksville, Florida UFO case. As Jerome Clark has written: “A man so obscure as to be barely known to most other residents of the rural area where he lived, John F. Reeves, 66, became the focus of international attention in 1965, when he reported an encounter with a UFO and its occupant.”

Contactees Bryant and Helen Reeve reached celebrity status in the 1950s after writing their book, Flying Saucer Pilgrimage. Much has been written of the tragic coincidences whirling around the lives of the actors (George Reeves and Christopher Reeve) who played the television and movie Superman (a fictional character who was an alien come to Earth to assist humans) or the “superman” (Keanu Reeves) in The Matrix.

August 1, 2007: The I-35W Bridge collapses.

Jay Reeves, 39, was one of the first people on the scene after the collapse. He tried calling 911, but all the lines were jammed. Then, he heard the sounds of children’s screams from the school bus.

“I opened my car door and was greeted by the screams of lots of kids. Screaming kids are good. That means they’re alive and full of a lot energy,” said Reeves, a trained paramedic and the public safety coordinator for the Minnesota American Red Cross.Associated Press, August 2, 2007.

February 7, 2013.

A famed film producer of the upcoming Superman film, Man of Steel, Lloyd Phillips, 63, has died suddenly in Malibu, California. He passed away on January 28, 2013. Was it the Superman Curse?

Whoever wrote the "Superman Curse" entry at Wikipedia did a remarkably good job of researching the subject, and discussing a greatly expanded list of individuals to which it may apply. These, besides George Reeves and Chris Reeve, were other Superman-linked people, including Bud Collyer, Lee Quigley, Kirk Alyn, Margot Kidder, Richard Pryor, and Dana Reeve. Several people were explored in the 2006 documentary, The Curse of Superman.

October 17, 2013. Washington D.C.

After lawmakers voted to reopen the government, things took a bizarre turn on the House floor. A congressional stenographer named Dianne Reidy had to be removed from the House floor after she took the microphone at the front desk, and began noting things like  about the Freemasons and the Constitution. She said the U.S. is not “one nation under God."

“They go against God!” the woman exclaimed. “You cannot serve two masters. Praise be to God, Lord Jesus Christ!”

Lawmakers observed what was happening, at first, in stunned silence. A representative from Texas told the AP, "She had a crazed look on her face," reported KXL 101 FM News.

Reidy allegedly said:

He will not be mocked! He will not be mocked! (Don't touch me.) He will not be mocked! The greatest deception here, is this is not one nation under God! It never was! Had it been, it would not have been, no, it would not have been, the constitution would not have been written by Freemasons! They go against God! You cannot serve two masters! You cannot serve two masters. Praise be to God, lord Jesus Christ! Praise be to ...

Within twilight language decoding, it should be pointed out that I have previously noted the importance of the hot name game among Fortean and anomalistic phenomena of "Reed"/"Reeder"/"Reeves" and, according to John A. Keel, in ufology and demonology, with "Reeves"/"Reaves." The name, of course, has been associated with the tragic lives of various "Reeves" who have played Superman on television and in the movies, and the Superman-like roles of Keanu Reeves in The Matrix and The Day The Earth Stood Still.

The name "Diane Reidy" would be merely another form of the Reeves/Reed thread.

January 13, 2014. Wesley Chapel, Pasco County, Florida.

Curtis Reeves, Jr., 71, a retired Tampa Police Captain was arrested and held without bail for shooting a man and his wife after an apparent argument over texting while at a Wesley Chapel, Florida, movie theater.
At the Monday afternoon showing of the film Lone Survivor, Reeves and his wife were sitting behind another couple, Chad and Nicole Oulson, watching the previews, when Reeves became agitated with Chad for texting before the movie began.
At the Wesley Chapel-January 13th screening of Lone Survivor an argument broke out between the couples, popcorn was thrown, after which Reeves reportedly left the theater, came back, took out a gun and fired at Oulson and his wife. Officials said Nicole tried to block the bullet, resulting in a gunshot wound to her hand, before Chad was struck. And killed.

Out-of-the-blue, Whitley picked one name to discuss.

The name: Reeves.

As I told Whitley, Reeves is one of those names that appear to have a magnetic attraction to UFO incidents and "Superman" cultural themes. John Reeves is a name linked to Brooksville, Florida UFO sightings, Bryant and Helen Reeve travelled the US in search of "the Saucerers," Keanu Reeves has been linked to Polish UFOs, and John A. Keel spoke of the importance of the name "Reeves" in his writings. 

The name itself, Reeve, from English, means "the chief under the king, or the overseer/chief peasant of a manor." Reeve, with links back to Dutch, means "to pass an end of the line through a block, ring, or something similar." This comes from reven, "to reef," in a sense to "use a rope in or as in reefing."

In The Rebirth of Pan: Hidden Faces of the American Earth Spirit, Jim Brandon writes, regarding the overall "name game": 

I'm not talking here of such spooky tongue-twisters as H.P. Lovecraft's Yog-Sothoth or Arthur Machen's Ishakshar, but of quite ordinary names like Bell, Beall and variants, Crowley, Francis, Grafton, Grubb, Magee/McGee, Mason, McKinney, Montpelier, Parsons, Pike, Shelby, Vernon, Watson/Watt, Williams/Williamson.

Name Game Event for June 24, 2018?

On June 19, 2018, Whitley Strieber pre-recorded a forthcoming episode with me, Loren Coleman, for his Dreamland podcast.

We talked, in general, about the topic of strange creatures, the museum, and the upcoming conference, but then Whitley took a radical turn. He asked about my study of names and dates. As I said to him, at the time, "I know where you are going."

Keel spoke of the importance of the name "Reeves" in his writings. Movie actors named Reeves have played characters from Superman to the lead in The Matrix, another form of a "superman" film.

Rope? A line? Humm, like hangings?

We also talked about the Fayette Factor, as well, briefly. I mentioned that few people, for example, who live on a Lafayette Avenue little realize "Lafayette" translates from the French as "the little enchantment" or "the little fairy." Joan of Arc at the age of 8 danced around a "fay tree," a "fairy tree," some saying she saw fairies. Others tell that she heard voices, had visions, and was "enchanted." The name has a long history. Marshal of France Gilbert de La Fayette III, an ancestor of Marquis De Lafayette, led the army of Joan of Arc, in Orléans.

Next Whitley asked about one specific date: June 24th.

For ufologists, June 24th is of critical importance. On June 24, 1947, the modern era of UFOs began with Kenneth Arnold’s dramatic sighting of “saucers” flying between Mount Rainier and Mount Adams in Washington State. The primary significance of this particular date, St. John’s Day, cannot be diminished within ufology and in other spheres. Since 1947, there is a history of this date being associated with ufologists' deaths.

All kinds of events - from fires to Masonic founding incidents - are today identified with the date.

So, was the Dreamland interaction a hint from an empyrean source that we should look for something major to occur on June 24, 2018? From a Reeves or a Fayette? Or some other name game entity?

Only time will tell.

Here is a quick overview of 12 notable UFO-related deaths on or near June 24:

(1) June 24 or 23 (there is some dispute), 1964, Frank Scully, 72, author of one of the first crashed-saucer books, Behind the Flying Saucers (1950), dies.

(2 and 3) June 24, 1967, two British UFO contactees, Ernest Arthur Bryant, a contactee, and Richard Church, an author and chairman of CIGIUFO, die.

(4) June 23 (US) or 24 (UK), 1967, Frank Edwards, 55, popular UFO author and radio personality in the 1950s, dies a few hours before Arthur Bryant. Indeed, Edwards passes away shortly before midnight on the 23rd, which would have been the early morning of June 24th in the UK, thus being the same date as Ernest Arthur Bryant's death. James Moseley stuns the delegates assembled for the 1967 Congress of Scientific Ufologists at New York City’s Hotel Commodore on June 24th, with the news of the sudden death of Frank Edwards.

(5) June 24, 1969, Willy Ley, 62, a rocket scientist and Fortean author, dies. Willy Ley was one of the first respected modern scientist to attempt to answer the question of what is a flying saucer. In 1952, he was one of the first, if not the first person, to say that 85% of UFO sightings are misidentified craft, leaving the other 15% open to notions of "interplanetary travel," that he began writing about in 1926.

(6) June 24, 1978, Robert Charroux, 69, the best-known pen-name of Robert Joseph Grugeau dies. Charroux was a French author known for his ancient astronaut theories and writings on other Fortean subjects, in such books as Masters Of The World: Groundbreaking New Revelations About The Ancient Astronauts (1979).

(7) June 24, 1987, Jackie Gleason, 71, the actor, who was an early advocate of flying saucer research, dies. Gleason's known interest in UFOs allegedly prompted President Richard Nixon to share some information with him and to disclose some UFO data publicly.

(8) June 24, 2006, Lyle Stuart, 83, the renegade publisher who published anomalist writer Frank Edwards’ Fortean book, in 1959, Stranger than Science, a paperbook full of information on ufology and other unexplained accounts, dies.

(9) June 24, 2013, James Martin, 79, a former rocket scientist, computer scientist, and author of After the Internet: Alien Intelligence (2000), was found floating dead in the waters off Agar's Island. Dr. Martin bought Agar’s Island in 1977 and made his home in Bermuda. The multi-millionaire kept a relatively low profile in Bermuda.

(10) June 24, 2013, Alan Myers, 58, the most prominent drummer (1976-1987) of the band Devo, dies of stomach cancer in Los Angeles. Devo played punk, art rock, post-punk and new wave music, and performed stage shows that mingled kitsch science fiction themes, deadpan surrealist humor, and mordantly satirical social commentary. Devo recorded at their own UFO Studios. More.

(11) June 24, 2015, Mario Biaggi, 97, a former Bronx congressman was involved in the "UFO disclosure" movement, dies. He once was pictured on the cover of Ideal's UFO Magazine, December 1978, Number 4. Within the periodical, there appeared the following, "Interview: Mario Biaggi 'There Is A UFO Cover-Up By The Government.'" On the cover, an image of Biaggi was shown with President Jimmy Carter. More.

(12) June 24, 2017, Loren Janes, 85, a legendary stuntman and stunt coordinator, dies. He was involved in some intriguing UFO-related movies.

Loren Janes (also known as Loren James) was the safety stunt coordinator for the UFO cult classic film, Repo Man, which has its fair share of UFO insider jokes about flying saucers, the name game, Men in Black, and conspiracy theorists.

Loren Janes gets a cryptokubrology mention too. In Stanley Kubrick's Spartacus (1960), Janes was Kirk Douglas' stunt double ("slave general"). Janes also was a "salt mine slave," and a "gladiator."

Synchromystic cinema connections are there, throughout Loren Janes' life. Janes received a credit in Back to the Future (1985), for his stunts. He was in the closeted UFO story of Steven Spielberg's 1941 (1979), in the intriguing Logan's Run (1976) and in Ice Station Zebra (1968). More.

St. Michael, Dragons, Serpentine Wall and the FBI

"And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, and prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven," (Rev. 12:7).

Two off-duty FBI employees were killed Thursday night, September 25, 2014, after their pleasure boat hit a barge on the Ohio River between Cincinnati and Newport, Kentucky. Where the accident occurred is of some interest.

Action 19 News noted:

First responders located the boat in the river near the Serpentine Wall and found two men dead on board. Cincinnati Police says the pleasure boat collided with a commercial tow boat around 11 p.m.

The FBI - Cincinnati division - released a statement on September 26th:

It is with great sadness that we advise that two FBI employees were involved in a tragic accident late last night that claimed their lives. At this time, family members are still being notified.

They were identified as John Stack II, 29, and Bruce Eastlick, 28. (Condolences to their loved ones and relatives, as well as their FBI family.)

The Serpentine Wall is a serpentine-shaped flood wall on the banks of the Ohio River. It was completed in 1976. The wall features steps descending to the river upon which visitors can sit and look across to Northern Kentucky. The riverfront wall is at Yeatman's Cove, between Sawyer Point park and the Public Landing. Sawyer Point is located at 720 E. Pete Rose Way (Riverfront) and is one of Cincinnati's "party" parks. A popular place to laze about is the Serpentine Wall steps that lead into the Ohio River.

Monday, September 29, 2014, is Michaelmas, feast day of the enemy of that serpent of old, a.k.a., the dragon.

As recounted by the Revelation of Saint John, at the end of the world, war will breakout between Heaven and Hell, between good and evil. As the commander of the Army of God, Archangel Michael leads the other angels in the fight against evil, represented in this picture by a seven-headed dragon.

Although he is always called "the Archangel," the Greek Fathers and many others place him over all the angels - as Prince of the Seraphim. St. Michael is the patron of grocers, mariners, paratroopers, police and sickness. Source.

Michaelmas, the feast of Saint Michael the Archangel (also the Feast of Saints Michael, Gabriel, Uriel and Raphael, the Feast of the Archangels, or the Feast of Saint Michael and All Angels) is a day in the Western Christian liturgical year that occurs on 29 September. Because it falls near the equinox, it is associated in the northern hemisphere with the beginning of autumn and the shortening of days. In medieval England, Michaelmas marked the ending and beginning of the husbandman's year, George C. Homans observes: "at that time harvest was over, and the bailiff or reeve of the manor would be making out the accounts for the year."
In Christianity, the Archangel Michael is the greatest of all the Archangels and is honored for defeating Lucifer in the war in heaven. He is one of the principal angelic warriors, seen as a protector against the dark of night, and the administrator of cosmic intelligence. Michaelmas has also delineated time and seasons for secular purposes as well, particularly in the United Kingdom and Ireland as one of the quarter days. Michaelmas was also one of the English, Welsh and Irish quarter days when accounts had to be settled. On manors, it was the day when a reeve was elected from the peasants.
In Anglican and Episcopal tradition, there are three or four archangels in its calendar for 29 September feast for St. Michael and All Angels: namely Michael, Gabriel and Raphael, and often, Uriel. The Bible itself identifies only Michael as "the archangel" (Book of Jude, verse 9) and does not identify any other creatures as being archangels.
Michaelmas is still celebrated in the Waldorf schools, which celebrate it as the "festival of strong will" during the autumnal equinox. Rudolf Steiner considered it the second most important festival after Easter, Easter being about Christ ("He is laid in the grave and He has risen"). Michaelmas is about man once he finds Christ ("He is risen, therefore he can be laid in the grave"), meaning man finds the Christ (risen), therefore he will be safe in death (laid in the grave with confidence). She was referring to 

Galatians 6:7 ~ Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

and Matthew 6:24 ~ No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.

And perhaps, Luke 16:13 ~ No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Her references also were to America not being one nation under God because “Freemasons” wrote the Constitution, although her grammar usage was confusing to reporters.

The incident caused a moment of chaos in the chamber as the presiding member, Rep. Ileana Ros Lehtinen, R-Fla., repeatedly banged the gavel, trying to restore order.

"She’s a well-known person, she’s a perfectly nice person, a good colleague, somebody who’s respectable and dependable, and this is very surprising to everybody who works with her," CNN reported on-air. "I don't know, she just snapped," said a GOP aide.

Here at Twilight Language, in my column on the "Masonic Origins of Baseball," I spoke the Elysian Fields, or the Elysian Plains, among the Greeks, was considered the final resting place of the souls of the heroic and the virtuous. In Greek mythology, Elysium (Greek: Ἠλύσια πεδία) was a section of the Underworld (the spelling Elysium is a Latinization of the Greek word Elysion).

Elysium is an obscure and mysterious name that evolved from a designation of a place or person struck by lightning, enelysion, enelysios. This could be a reference to Zeus, the god of lightning, so "lightning-struck" could be saying that the person was blessed (struck) by Zeus (lightning).

Within twilight language decoding, it should be pointed out that I have previously noted the importance of the hot name game among Fortean and anomalistic phenomena of "Reed"/"Reeder"/"Reeves" and, according to John A. Keel, in ufology and demonology, with "Reeves"/"Reaves." The name, of course, has been associated with the tragic lives of various "Reeves" who have played Superman on television and in the movies, and the Superman-like roles of Keanu Reeves in The Matrix and The Day The Earth Stood Still.

The name "Diane Reidy" would be merely another form of the Reeves/Reed thread.

Coincidentially, throughout New England, radio ads have been playing all month about Ben Franklin and other founding fathers being Freemasons due to several states having a Masonic Open House on October 19, 2013, this coming Saturday.

Alabama Mass Violence: 9 Dead

Five new shooting deaths were discovered in rural Alabama, April 7, 2009, which follow in the wake of the stabbing deaths of four people in a home in Hueytown, near Birmingham, on March 7, and the shooting spree deaths of 10 people on March 10 by a gunman in south Alabama who also took his own life.

One question I have: Has the media decided that everyone wishes to read indepth details about every new murder-suicide that occurs?

Events like this happened in the past routinely, quietly and locally, but now each one has been elevated to a national story. As a demonstration of this, I reprint the following example.

The Associated Press covered this expanded domestic violence incident today from near Priceville, Alabama:

A man facing a divorce trial shot and killed his estranged wife, their teenage daughter and two other relatives in rural north Alabama before returning to his home in a nearby town and killing himself, authorities said Tuesday [April 7, 2009].

Kevin Garner's body was found Tuesday afternoon near his Priceville home, which burned to the ground overnight. His divorce trial was to start Wednesday [April 8, 2009].

Garner apparently shot himself in the chest, said Travis Clemmons, chief investigator for the sheriff's office in Lauderdale County, where the four bodies were found earlier in the day in a home in Green Hill, a small community near the Tennessee line.

The victims were identified as Garner's estranged wife, Tammy, 40; their 16-year-old daughter, Chelsie; Garner's sister, Karen Beaty of Illinois; and Beaty's 11-year-old son, whose name was not released.

Investigators said the four were shot, apparently with a handgun, around midnight Monday. They did not know if Kevin Garner was licensed to carry a firearm.

It was one of eight mass shootings around the country and the third in Alabama in the last month that have left grief-stricken communities in shock.

Clemmons said a neighbor visiting the Green Hill house Tuesday morning saw a body through the door and called authorities.

Court officials said the Garners were in court Monday in advance of the trial and nothing seemed unusual.

"I just can't understand it," said Clemmons, "and with a 16-year-old and an 11-year-old kid, there's nothing rational about it."

In the divorce file, Tammy Garner sought custody of their daughter and alleged that her husband "has been both physically and emotionally abusive."

Kevin Garner accused her of adultery and of taking $38,000 out of their joint bank account when they separated May 27.

Michael Corley, chief deputy in Morgan County, where Garner's body was found, said Beaty and her son might have been on the witness list for the divorce case. He said investigators believe Garner was "unhappy" with proceedings and "after court adjourned it appears he set some of his plans in motion."

He said it appears the divorce was filed about a year ago but was just now coming up on the court docket.

"Now that we know the final end of it all it's just going back and putting the pieces together," Corley said. "We feel like this was solely a homicide, that he killed them, then went to the home. He used some type of accelerant that caused the home to burn very, very quickly, then walked about 200 yards back into a wooded area behind the house and took his life."

Jerry Knight, an attorney who represented Kevin Garner in the divorce case, said in an e-mail to The Associated Press that Garner "had a terrific work ethic and value system. I was terribly shocked and saddened by this unexpected tragedy."

Kevin Garner had worked at a Decatur chemical plant and Tammy Garner at a Huntsville department store.

Along with Garner's two-story house, which collapsed in the fire, a green Subaru Legacy belonging to Tammy Garner was found burned in the Morgan County community of Somerville, less than 10 miles from the burned house.
