End of the Day: June 24, 2022

In the US, we began hearing the reports of a mass shooting in a gay bar around 7 pm, on the night of June 24, 2022. Two people were dead and several wounded. (It was predictable.)

The shooting took place at locations associated with Oslo Pride, the local LGBT pride event hosted by the Oslo branch of the Norwegian Organisation for Sexual and Gender Diversity, the night before the planned Pride parade in Oslo. The first shooting occurred at London Pub, a popular gay bar and nightclub. A journalist from the Norwegian public broadcaster NRK, stated he witnessed a man arrive with a bag, who then picked up a weapon and started shooting. The journalist thought it was an air gun at first, until the bar next door had glass shatter. According to one witness, the perpetrator shouted "Allahu Akbar" as he started shooting. He was identified as 42-year-old Norwegian Iranian Zaniar Matapour.

The perpetrator then moved to two more nearby locations, including Per på hjørnet, a bar popular among the adult LGBT community, and a takeaway. Police were called at 01:15 local time, and arrived minutes later. The suspect was detained five minutes after the attacks. 80 to 100 people hid in the pub's basement during the attack, and wounded people were lying both inside and outside the bar with the police describing the scene as "chaotic".

Two people were killed and twenty-one more were injured, ten of whom were critically injured while the other eleven were slightly injured. The deceased victims were 60-year old Kaare Hesvik, a gay man celebrating pride, and 54-year old Jon Isachsen, both residing in Bærum.

According to Eskil Pedersen, many of those present in London Pub, including himself, were also on Utøya during the shooting by domestic terrorist Anders Behring Breivik.

This shooting was said to be the first one in Norway for 11 years.

It also recalled the Pulse shooting. On June 12, 2016, Omar Mateen, a 29-year-old man, killed 49 people and wounded 53 more in a mass shooting at Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, United States. Orlando Police officers shot and killed him after a three-hour standoff.

June 25, 2022	Bolingbrook, Illinois	1	2		WeatherTech shooting: Police were dispatched around 6:25 a.m. to WeatherTech Way after receiving reports that someone was shot. The suspect, identified as Charles C. McKnight Jr. of Chicago, fled the building but was located about three hours later at the back of a home on Larkspur Lane and taken into custody. A handgun was also found at the scene. According to police, one victim died, one is in critical condition and a third was released from the hospital. All three are WeatherTech employees. The victim who died was identified as Central Hightower, 37, of Plainfield, Illinois. The critical condition victim is a 25-year-old man, and the third victim is a 43-year-old man.
June 30, 2022	Allen, Kentucky	3	4	7	2022 shooting of Kentucky police officers: A man fired out the window of his home, shooting seven people, six of whom were law enforcement officers. Two of the officers died at the scene, and a third died in the hospital the day after. The third officer was a canine handler, and his dog also died.

July 3, 2022: Copenhagen, Denmark mall shooting: On 3 July 2022, a man opened fire at the Field's shopping mall in Copenhagen, Denmark, killing three people and critically wounding three others. The mass shooting is the first in Denmark since the 2015 Copenhagen shootings.


The shooting took place at the Field's shopping mall located in Ørestad, a developing city area on Amager in Copenhagen. A man carrying a hunting rifle entered the mall sometime before 5:30 p.m. A photo showed him wearing knee-length shorts and a vest or sleeveless shirt. Police received the first shooting reports at 5:37 p.m. and arrested a man 11 minutes later. A witness said the shooter seemed violent and angry, running and shouting. During the attack, a number of people attempted to shelter in a KFC restaurant in the Field's Centre.


Three people were killed, and four more were wounded. Three people went to the Rigshospitalet trauma center. The deceased victims were a 17-year-old girl, a 17-year-old boy and a 47-year-old Russian man. Four of the wounded were seriously injured, including two Swedish citizens and two Danish citizens, and one remains in critical condition.

There are reports the white male chased Muslims to shoot them.

2022 Highland Park parade shooting: Six people were killed after a shooting during Highland Park's Fourth of July parade and a further 24 were injured. Lake County sheriff’s office deputy chief Christopher Covelli said at the press conference Monday that the suspect was an 18- to 20-year-old white male with long black hair who should be considered "armed and dangerous."

The original name of Highland Park is St. John's.


Highland Park has several landmark structures listed in the National Register of Historic Places, notably the Willits House by Frank Lloyd Wright. In addition to several houses designed by Wright, the National Register lists homes designed by prominent architects including John S. Van Bergen, Howard Van Doren Shaw, Robert E. Seyfarth, and David Adler. Landscape architect Jens Jensen lived in Highland Park and designed a number of projects in the community that are listed on the register.

Highland Park, Illinois is known as the original home of Fate Magazine.

"About a third of the 30,000 residents in the suburb along Lake Michigan about 25 miles north of Chicago are Jewish, according to some estimates, and they include many Israelis. There are synagogues from multiple denominations, and substantial Jewish populations in many of the neighboring suburbs," notes The Cleveland Jewish News.

The suspect has been identified as 22-year-old Robert "Bobby" E. Crimo.

Breivik Copycat Arrested

A 29-year-old copycat of Norwegian mass murderer Anders Behring Breivik, who wanted to carry out a similar attack, has been arrested in the Czech Republic.

Police announced on Saturday, August 18, 2012, that they detained the unidentified man on August 10th in Ostrava, Czech Republic. 

Authorities were alerted to his plan because he used the name Breivik in e-mail correspondences. Law enforcement official searched the man's apartment and discovered an assault rifle, ammunition, explosives and police uniforms. The man's plot involved the denotation of "a large explosive device crafted from an aircraft bomb and was in possession of a remote control detonator when he was arrested," reported the BBC and other media outlets.

The history of Ostrava is intriguing as being an important location on the prehistoric trading route for the transfer of fossilized tree resin (made famous in Jurassic Park) called the Amber Road. Also, please pay attention synchromystic researchers, the Greek name for amber was ἤλεκτρον (elektron), "formed by the sun," and it was connected to the sun god (Helios).

In 1763, sizable deposits of black coal (from the Old English term col, which has meant "mineral of fossilized carbon" since the 13th century) were discovered, leading to an industrial boom and a flood of new immigrants in the following centuries. During the 19th century, several mine towers were built in and around the city and the first steel works were established at Vítkovice, acquired by Salomon Mayer von Rothschild in 1843. Industrial growth was made possible by the completion of Kaiser-Ferdinands-Nordbahn from Vienna in 1847.

Anders Behring Breivik is on trial for killing 77 people -- eight in the bombing at a government building in Oslo, Norway, and 69 others on nearby Utoya Island -- July, 22, 2011. (This was same day that the film Captain America was released in the USA, with a scene of an attack of Nazis in Norway; see more on "Predicting Aurora" here.)

Breivik has admitted to the bombing and machine gunning down of mostly teenagers at the annual summer youth camp of the governing Labor Party. Breivik's war against multiculturalism and, what he termed, "the Muslim invasion of Europe" has been spelled out in his manifesto, entitled “2083 – A European Declaration of Independence.”

Last August 2011, the Anders Behring Breivik story involved new reports that he had cosmetic surgery to look more Aryan. Breivik could not have had his blond hair, blue eyes and chiseled features naturally, according to Janne Kristiansen, head of the Norwegian Police Security Service, that country's version of our FBI, who told that to The Sunday Times of London.

"You do not have that Aryan look naturally in Norway," Kristiansen said. "[Adolf] Hitler would have had him on posters. He has the perfect, classic Aryan face. He must have had a facelift."
The same day as Kristiansen's insights, the London Sunday Telegraph quoted a former classmate of Breivik as saying Breivik, boasted in the late 1990s, that he had plastic surgery to look more Aryan.
"I remember we were at a party, and he told me he had had his nose and chin operated on by a plastic surgeon in America," the unidentified school buddy said to the media about this new strange twist.

What is bizarre about all of this is that Norwegians are viewed as rather Aryan.

Why was Kristiansen saying such things? Indeed, she (shown above) looks Aryan. Was her statements in 2011 disinformation?

Wikipedia picks up the next part of the story of Kristiansen by noting she was forced out in 2012:

Janne Kristiansen resigned as PST leader on 18 January 2012 following an open hearing of the parliament's 22 July Committee that same day where she had been summoned to answer questions about Norwegian security and intelligence work. This unfolded after she had answered a direct question from Member of Parliament Akhtar Chaudhry (Socialist Left Party) during the parliament's (Storting) questioning of her. The question was whether Norway has cooperation with Pakistan in the intelligence arena, and Kristiansen's reply was interpreted as a confirmation that the Norwegian Intelligence Service (military intelligence) had in fact a presence in that country. Both the two major news agencies in Norway, however, have written that representatives from the Norwegian Armed Forces have confirmed the presence of the Intelligence Service abroad on a number of previous occasions. This would make it uncertain whether confidential information was revealed during the hearing. In March 2012 police investigations of Kristiansen were dropped by the Bureau for the Investigation of Police Affairs.

In the wake of Breivik's July 22, 2011, attack, at least one other copycat arrest has surfaced, according to UPI:

A reputed member of the English Defense League could be charged with making online threats of an "Oslo-style" bombing aimed at Muslims, police said.
Police in South Shields did not release the name of the man arrested Saturday [April 21, 2012], The Journal of Newcastle reported. But he was identified online Monday [April 23, 2012] as Kenny Holden, 29, of South Shields.
The threat was made on Facebook pages linked to the EDL, investigators said. Holden allegedly said he would carry out the "Oslo-style" attack in South Shields.

Blood Red Movie Massacres

July 22nd is the anniversary of the 1934 death of John Dillinger, who was killed in front of a movie theater, Chicago's Biograph, after watching the film Manhattan Melodrama. Dillinger was betrayed by the "Woman in Red," a madam (Ana Cumpănaş, also known as Anna Sage) wearing an orange dress, which looked red under the theater's lights.

In Michael Mann's 2009 Public Enemies, Christian Bale (shown) plays FBI man Mervin Purvis, Johnny Depp plays John Dillinger, Branka Katic plays Anna Sage, and Marion Cotillard plays Billie Frechette (shown at top as Dillinger's other woman in red). Bale and Cotillard have significant leading roles in The Dark Knight Rises.

In the film Dillinger saw the night he died, Manhattan Melodrama, Clark Gable (shown) plays the gangster-gambler Blackie Gallagher. The movie's finale has Gallagher being put to death in the electric chair for murder. The back story of Gallagher and his brother by adoption is one of two orphans, and parallels Batman and many other DC and Marvel superheroes. Indeed, they are twice orphaned in one of the strangest twists in movie fiction. The boys are adopted as orphans by Poppa Rosen for a short while. But then Rosen (meaning = roses, red), a Russian Jew, is trampled to death by a policeman's horse after he heckles former Red Army Generalissimo Leon Trotsky at a red Communist rally and a melee breaks out. In the end, Gallagher is the darkness, and his "brother" Jim, who becomes the DA and governor, is the light.

This is also the day of the release of the film Captain America: The First Avenger (a year ago, on July 22, 2011), with the first Nazi machine-gunning scene taking place in Norway, which also mirrors the same day's Breivik's massacre in Norway (July 22, 2011).

Hugo Weaving plays two roles, Johann Schmidt, Adolf Hitler's head of advanced weaponry and the transformed Red Skull commander of the terrorist organization Hydra, in the 2011 film Captain America. Weaving also plays the villain Agent Smith in the three Matrix films and V in V for Vendetta (all films that have resulted in copycat violence).

What we do know is that copycats were certainly a real outcome of the 2008 screening of The Dark Knight. The most infamous was Kim de Gelder, the Dendermonde Joker (shown), who killed two babies and a teacher in a Belgium daycare on January 23, 2009. He dressed like his own personal version of the Joker from The Dark Knight.

We still don't know how the alleged Aurora killer, suspect John Holmes appeared on July 20, 2012, at Theater No. 9. All is pure speculation, and yet the web has gone wild with imagined imagery (see above).

One of the news tidbits that has been revealed about James Eagan Holmes (shown in a photo from his youth) is that besides the reported red hair and goatee, underneath his black body armor, he was wearing red to the midnight showing of The Black Knight Rises. The name Eagan means "fiery."

The Greek Goddess Aurora is sometimes referred to as the "Goddess of the Morning Red." Colorado is Spanish for "red."

Anne Hathaway plays Selina Kyle aka Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises. Seline (Luna/Moon) is the sister of the Roman goddess Aurora (dawn).

One of the first victims of the Aurora, Colorado shootings identified was Jessica Ghawi, an aspiring sportscaster, who happened to almost have been shot during the recent Toronto's Eaton Mall shooting. She also used the name "Jessica Redfield," a name she created because of her red hair, as she said people remembered that name more easily, since "Ghawi" is difficult to pronounce.

Seven employees of the Red Robin restaurant in Aurora were injured in The Dark Knight Rises shooting (thanks 82-28).

President Barack Obama came to Aurora, Colorado, early on July 22, 2012, to visit with shooting victims and family members. The quotation used by the media reflects an underlying theme in the event.

"It reminds you that even in the darkest of days, life continues and people are strong," the president said, after detailing the recovery of two victims. "Out of this darkness, a brighter day is going to come." [Emphasis added.]

The metaphor to dawn is strong in that simple quote.

The list

Movies and massacres are nothing new. Here is a compilation (enhanced by me) of theater-related violence, initially published by ABC News and other sources, which I preserve here before it vanishes. It is followed by video clips of Christian Bale talking about The Dark Knight and appearing in American Psycho.

1928 (Burlington, North Carolina): One of the earliest fatal shootings at a theater happened in Burlington, North Carolina and the active shooter is a Holmes. On Tuesday, January 17, 1928, George Washington Holmes, Jr., 30, shot to death Odis Leslie “Ode” Robertson, 34, in the lobby of Burlington's Lyric Theater, before the 7:00 pm showing of The Naked Truth (1924).

1934 (Chicago): Gangster John Dillinger dies in front of the Biograph Theater on July 22nd (see above for more details).

1955 (Chicago): Ex-con shoots rookie cop in a movie theater four miles from the Loop.

1985 (Chicago): Movie-line quarrel ends with one man dead of a gunshot wound to the back of the head.

1988 (Southfield, Michigan): In October, two men are shot during an argument near the box office of the Americana.

1989 (New York City): Ricardo Jimenez, 21, kills Sean Worrell, 20, for buying the last bag of popcorn at Tim Burton's 1989 Batman premiere on July 3rd, at the Whitestone Multiplex Cinema. Michael Keaton plays Batman and Jack Nicholson plays The Joker.

1989 (Southfield, Michigan): A man opens fire in the main auditorium of the November 17th opening night of Eddie Murphy's Harlem Nights at the Americana. (Metal detectors were installed and it was reopened in 1990 as the Southfield City 12, and closed forever in 2001.)

1990 (Valley Stream, New York): A 15-year-old was killed and three other bystanders wounded when a shootout (between a group in the front row and one in the back) erupts on Tuesday, December 25th, Christmas Day, during the premiere running of The Godfather Part III at the Sunrise Cinema Multiplex. (2012 media reports this then becomes the first cinema in the country with metal detectors.)

1991 (Chicago): A 23-year-old man is shot at a July premiere showing of Boyz n the Hood.

1991 (Los Angeles and nationwide): Boyz n the Hood sparks shootings that leave 33 injured, in LA, Minneapolis, Universal City, and other locations.

1991 (Seattle): A 15-year-old is stabbed during the premiere weekend at the Lewis & Clark Theater of Boyz n the Hood.

1993 (Brooklyn, New York): 19-year-old man is shot to death during a late screening of Judgment Night.

1998 (Bakersfield, California): Eight people are injured after shooting during I Got the Hookup.

1999 (Seattle): One man shoots another in the stomach during Analyze This.

2002 (Philadelphia): Janitor shot twice in the head in movie theater bathroom.

2006 (Baltimore): A 24-year old man Mujtaba Rabbani Jabbar, a resident of the exclusive Anton North neighborhood, sits behind Paul Schrum, 62, from Pikesville, at the Loews Valley Center 9, shoots Schrum in the head, hollers for everyone to stay down, and then fires three more shots during the showing of X-Men: Last Stand at the Owings Mills multiplex.

2006 (Pittsburgh): A screening of Get Rich or Die Tryin ends when one man fatally shoots another in the lobby after a trip to the restroom.

2008 (Philadelphia): James Joseph Cialella, 29, is charged with shooting the father of a family who he complained was talking during a Christmas Day showing of the Brad Pitt film, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Cialella allegedly throws popcorn at the man’s son and then shoots the man in the arm at the Riverview Regal Theater.

2008 (Raleigh, North Carolina): An unidentified masked man tries to rob the Marquee Cinemas Theater, and then fatally shoots the manager Mark Douglas Buhaug, 48.

2010 (Daly City, California): A man shoots three people outside a Bay Area movie theater, including a pregnant woman.

2011 (Tuscaloosa, Alabama): Teen shoots another teen in movie theater parking lot.

2012 (Aurora, Colorado): Alleged suspect James Holmes opens fire at the July 20th midnight showing of The Dark Knight Rises, killing 12 people and injuring 59 others, in Theater 9 and through collateral damage, at the Century 16 Theaters.

I do know that is just more bad news attached to a Christopher Nolan film. This is a guy who puts forward psychopaths as his protagonists (Following, Memento, The Prestige) and cast a guy previously best known as Bateman, the American Psycho as Batman....I do know this is a guy who revels in fascist, brutalizing imagery and themes in his work.
I do know that he deliberately created a brand new archetype with his Joker, the real protagonist of The Dark Knight. A figure of pure, wanton destruction- the killer that every Jugalo would love to be when they grow up. This was pure psychological manipulation of the worst kind, and has had terrible real world results.

Knights Templars of Norway and Mexico

The Washington Post's Elizabeth Flock has highlighted the Knights Templar link to the Norwegian attacks. She writes:

In a detailed diary kept by Anders Behring Breivik — the Norwegian man charged with killing at least 94 people in a bombing in Oslo and shooting on a nearby island Friday — the suspect details months of preparations...

Breivik also exhaustively references the Knights Templar, which he calls an “international Christian military order,” that “fights” against “Islamic suppression.”

Monday, it was reported that a Mexican drug ring also invoked the obscure Knights Templar.

Who are they?

The Knights Templar’s earliest function in around 1119 was to protect Christian pilgrims traveling to the Holy Land. The armed group soon became known as the most skilled in the battles to reclaim Jerusalem from the Arabs and racked up several successive victories over Muslim forces.

But by 1303, the knights had been forced out of the Holy Land and returned to western Europe. They fled to France, where they were seen as an armed threat by King Philip the Fair, who had many of them tortured and executed. The king had the support of Pope Clement V, who issued a papal bull that made sure the group was disbanded by 1312.

Since then, rumors of the surviving knights have come and gone, including one rumor that the knights could destroy the Catholic church with a single secret they held.

Breivik says the Christian military order was refounded in 2002 in London under the name PCCTS as an armed “anti-Jihad crusader-organization.”

The Templar are recognizable by white tunics with red crosses, a symbol Breivik put on the front page of his “2083: A European Declaration of Independence,” and emblazoned on homemade uniforms featured on his Facebook page.

Mexico: Top hitman for Knights Templar gang nabbed

July 13, 2011 

MEXICO CITY (AP) — Mexico's federal police have caught the top hitman for the Knights Templar drug gang in the western state of Michoacan, authorities said Wednesday.

Federal police allege that suspect Javier Beltran Arco oversaw murders for the meth-trafficking gang. Beltran Arco is known by the nickname "El Chivo," or The Goat.

A federal police statement said that two suspected cartel lookouts had been detained with Beltran Arco, along with three assault rifles and about two pounds (0.8 kilograms) of methamphetamines.

Police also found books, clothing and banners referring to the Knights Templar, the statement said.

The gang split off recently from La Familia, a Michoacan-based drug cartel that also uses quasi-religious rhetoric and instructional material.

Also in Michoacan, authorities announced the seizure of 44 metric tons of chemicals used to produce methamphetamine. The material was found at the Lazaro Cardenas seaport in two containers that had been shipped from Shanghai in China.

In the northern Mexico border city of Ciudad Juarez, prosecutors raised Tuesday's total of homicides to 21 from a previously reported 18. That made it the bloodiest day of 2011 so far, surpassing the 20 killings reported Feb. 18.

Ciudad Juarez, which sits across the border from El Paso, Texas, is a sprawling industrial city that has been plagued by violence as rival drug cartels fight over turf and smuggling routes. AP.

(4) New Norwegian Killing

Last night two masked men in military uniform shot dead a 27 year old man in his home in Sandnes, Norway. Nowhere in the mainstream media can I [craig] find anybody wondering whether this is related to the massacre in Norway the day before – even though both were killings with guns, (very rare in Norway), and either this guy really was assassinated by soldiers, or both were carried out in false uniform. Have I [craig] turned into a crazed conspiracy theorist, or is this lack of curiosity a little bit strange?

News Alert on Monday, July 25th: The total death toll in Friday's bomb blast and shootings in Norway has been revised downward from 93 to 76, police say.

Police now say eight people died in the bombing in Oslo, up one from the earlier death toll. Authorities revised downward the number of dead in the shooting on Utoya island from 86 to 68. Police say they are still searching the island for possible victims.

Original posting (with updates in numbers) about the July 22, 2011, events:


Early on Friday, a person dressed as a policeman fired shots at Norway's Labour Party Youth Camp, injuring and killing several people, Norwegian state broadcaster NRK reported. There were about 700 people at the camp, NRK said. (Update: The death toll for the shootings at the camp plus the bombings was set at 93 and/or 94 on Monday before the revision downward.)

Word of the attack came after a giant explosion rocked government buildings in Oslo, Norway. NRK reported that people were confirmed dead. (The number of dead is seven for those killed in the Oslo blast.)

Several buildings were badly damaged, witnesses said, and the city was reeling. The cause of the blast remained unknown for some time, as no one claimed responsibility.

Anders Behring Breivik is the suspect, shown here wearing a Masonic apron and outfit. Is Breivik a Freemason? Indeed, it appears so. According to Norwegian newspapers, a Facebook page ascribed to Breivik showed him as a person interested in bodybuilding, conservative politics and freemasonry. Another new photograph and information has associated him with a Knights Templar group.

By late on Friday, Anders Behring Breivik, a 32-year-old ethnic Norwegian man, tall and blonde, was in custody, officials said, after two attacks earlier in the day that killed scores of people -- attacks police said are linked. The first attack occurred when a massive bomb erupted in the heart of Oslo; the second occurred at the ruling Labour Party's youth camp on an island outside the capital.

At least seven people were killed in Oslo, and at first only 10 were reported killed on Utoya Island (this is now said to be around 91 dead), officials said. A Labour Party member said panic broke out at the camp, with people climbing trees and jumping in a lake to avoid the gunfire.

The acting national police chief said the gun used was an automatic weapon and that undetonated explosives were found on the island after the attack.

National police chief Sveinung Sponheim told NRK that the suspected gunman's Internet postings "suggest that he has some political traits directed toward the right, and anti-Muslim views, but whether that was a motivation for the actual act remains to be seen."

Andersen said the suspect posted on websites with Christian fundamentalist tendencies. He did not describe the websites in any more details.

A police official said the suspect appears to have acted alone in both attacks, and that "it seems like this is not linked to any international terrorist organizations at all." The official spoke on condition of anonymity because that information had not been officially released by Norway's police.

"It seems it's not Islamic-terror related," the official said. "This seems like a madman's work."

But was there a message in the madness? "He is clear on the point that he wants to explain himself," police official Roger Andresen told reporters Saturday.


It is to be noted that the terrorist attack in New York was on 9/11, the one in Madrid on 3/11, and the Mumbai events on 7/11.

I have written extensively in The Copycat Effect (NY: Simon and Schuster, 2004) of the symbolism of dates in these acts and other underlying "messages" found in such twilight language, of course. 


The incidents in Oslo, Norway, occurred on 7/22/11, or, in European style, on 22/7/11.  Twenty-two, of course, is 11 x 2.

SMiles Lewis passes along the following confirming quote made sometime after my book appeared, about the July 11, 2006, Mumbai attacks: "The date of the attack, the 11th, may be only a coincidence, but it won't be ignored as investigators try to figure out who was behind today's deadly commuter train attacks in India. The 11th has now been chosen as an attack date in New York, Madrid and Mumbai. 'There's a lot of symbolism involved when terrorists choose their targets and the dates of their attacks,' said Jack Cloonan, a former FBI agent on the bin Laden squad who now works as an ABC News consultant."

Also, as I wrote about before and during the Virginia Tech shooting, there appears to be an unconscious or conscious attempt on the part of shooters to be the one with the highest "body count." 


Is this incident now the largest single shooter attack with the greatest number of young people killed in a youth-oriented setting? Obviously, the number killed has been higher in bombings and in military or terrorist operations with teams of killers, but isn't this the highest number of youth killed by one person in a single event, sadly?
