Next Movie Shooting: August 5, 2016?

Could the next major theatrical mass shooting occur on August 5, 2016?

Remember Friday, July 20, 2012? James Holmes opened fire on the patrons at a movie theater in Aurora, Colorado, just as The Dark Knight Rises began, killing 12 and injuring 70 others. The night was the premiere evening for the film. (See also here, here, and here.)

Do you recall what occurred a year before that event? Early on Friday, July 22, 2011, a person dressed as a policeman (Anders Behring Breivik, a 32-year-old Norwegian right-wing extremist) fired shots at Norway's Labour Party Youth Camp on the island of Utøya, injuring and killing over 90 people, mostly young people. There were about 700 people at the camp. The death toll for the shootings at the camp plus the bombings was set at 77. The same day, on Friday, July 22, 2011, Captain America: The First Avenger was widely released in the United States, which began with a battle between Nazis and the film's hero - in Norway. (See also here.)
The movie Suicide Squad opens on Friday, August 5, 2016. Is it subconsciously broadcasting the kinds of messages to those who might shoot up a movie theater?

I hope not, but stay tuned. And be forewarned.

What has happened on August 5ths in the past?

642 - Battle of Maserfield - Penda of Mercia defeats and kills Oswald of Bernicia.
910 - The last major Viking army to raid England is defeated at the Battle of Tettenhall by the allied forces of Mercia and Wessex, led by King Edward and Earl Aethelred.
1071 - Emperor Romanos IV Diogenes captured/Islam advances through Europe.
1305 - William Wallace, who led Scottish resistance to England, is captured by the English near Glasgow and transported to London for trial and execution.
1812 - War of 1812: Tecumseh's Native American force ambushes Thomas Van Horne's 200 Americans at Brownstone Creek, causing them to flee and retreat.
1973 - Arab terrorists open fire at Athens airport, kills 3 injures 55.
1997 - Ramzi Yousef, mastermind of World Trade Center bombing goes on trial.
2003 - A car bomb explodes in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta outside the Marriott Hotel killing 12 and injuring 150.
2012 - Gunman opens fire on Sikh temple in Oak Creek, Wisconsin killing six people and committing suicide.

Mine Shootings and Machine Guns: Aurora and Columbine

by Loren Coleman ©2012

Aurora and Columbine are two of the most recognized names of massacres in American history, specifically having occurred in Colorado. This, of course, is due to the mass shooting at Aurora's Century 16 theater on July 20, 2012, and the school violence at Columbine High School on April 20, 1999.

By synchromystic detection, we find these two names are associated with "mine shootings," one of which is a historically significant "mine massacre," and the other a recent event signaling perhaps more on the horizon.

Americans hardly are aware of international news, but something is afoot in South Africa that may sign more. The Aurora Mine (above) in South Africa was the source of violence on Monday, September 3, 2012, when four striking miners were shot. (Recall, Aurora = dawn.)

According to the African edition of the USA Today:
Mine unrest spread in South Africa as police and security guards fired rubber bullets and tear gas Monday [September 3, 2012] at sacked gold miners attacking former colleagues trying to get to work, injuring four miners, according to the owner of the mine.
The mine's business associates previously involved relatives of Nelson Mandela and President Jacob Zuma and was the same place where firebrand politician Julius Malema, an avowed enemy of Zuma, last week pledged to make the nation's mines ungovernable.
***
The mine unrest reached a bloody climax on Aug. 16 when police shot 112 striking workers, killing 34 of them, at a platinum mine at Marikana, northwest of Johannesburg. The state violence was reminiscent of apartheid days and has damaged the government's image. Government officials held a press conference to try to control the fallout.
***
Aurora was bought two years ago by a group including Zuma's nephew and a grandson of anti-apartheid-icon Nelson Mandela. The two allegedly never paid for the mine but stripped it of most assets and now are being sued by liquidators. They have failed to honor court orders that they pay tens of thousands of dollars to miners thrown out of work.
Please note that the media characterizes the striking miners as the attackers, despite they are the ones that end up shot, and often dead. A golden dawn event?

Expelled African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) leader Julius Malema, journeyed to the Aurora Mine on August 30, 2012, to speak to the workers about their calls for justice and the nationalization of the mines.
Earlier on Friday, Feburary 10, 2012, Malema made his first public appearance since an appeals ruling to dismiss him from the ruling party was upheld. Malema said then that he is preparing for life outside the ANC. Not all is peaceful in South Africa. (Photo: Denis Farrell)

Aurora, Colorado's The Dark Knight Rises shooting made many immediately recall Colorado's other recent mass shooting, the one at Columbine High School on April 20, 1999, at Littleton, Colorado - which is remembered from that machine-gun toting teen on Time.

What few realize is that there is an even older Columbine "massacre," the Columbine Mine Massacre, which took place on November 21, 1927, at the Columbine Mine in Serene, Colorado.
Armed secret police (the Colorado Rangers reactivated) and mine guards machine-gunned and shot to death six striking workers and injured 60 others.

"The 1927 murders were recklessly perpetrated by a police force in the pay of the governor of the state of Colorado. The machine gunning of striking coal miners was orchestrated by a small but powerful segment of the business community and was encouraged by lurid editorials against immigrant workers in Colorado's daily papers. The citizens of Lafayette burned those papers in the street as a sign of their agony and their sense of betrayal. Lafayette wanted justice; Denver simply wanted coal," writes a memorial site.

The striking workers were carrying no weapons, only three American flags, for, needless to say, the cry against them was that they were not Americans. "Keeping America American" is not a new saying.

Richard Myers, in The Columbine Mine Massacre, wrote:
Popular strike leader Adam Bell stepped forward and asked that the gate be unlocked. As he put his hand on the gate one of the rangers struck him with a club. A sixteen-year-old boy stood nearby holding one of the flags. The banner was snatched from him, and in the tug-of-war that followed the flagpole broke over the fence. The miners rushed toward the gate, and suddenly the air was filled with tear gas launched by the police. A tear gas grenade hit Mrs. Kubic in the back as she tried to get away. Some of the rangers hurled rocks and clubs and the miners threw them back. The miners in the front of the group scaled the gate, led by Adam Bell's call of "Come on!" Bell was pulled down by three policemen. Viciously clubbed on the head, he fell unconscious to the ground. A battle raged over his prostrate form, the miners shielding him from the rangers. Mrs. Elizabeth Beranek, mother of 16 children and one of the flag-bearers, tried to protect him by thrusting her flag in front of his attackers. The police turned on her, bruising her severely (police admitted to using clubs in the skirmish. ***Three machine-guns had been installed at the mine and miners later claimed their ranks were decimated by a withering crossfire from the mine tipple— a structure where coal was loaded onto railroad cars— and from a gun on a truck near the water tank. John Eastenes, 34, of Lafayette, married and father of six children, died instantly. Nick Spanudakhis, 34, Lafayette, lived only a few minutes. Frank Kovich of Erie, Rene Jacques, 26, of Louisville and 21 year old Jerry Davis died hours later in the hospital. The American flag Davis carried was riddled with seventeen bullet holes and stained with blood. Mike Vidovich of Erie, 35, died a week later of his injuries.***Newspapers printed a statement from an uncomfortable Governor Adams that the machine-guns were mounted before and after, but not during the shooting, at which time they had been placed in storage at his personal request. Citizens of Lafayette were so enraged at what they described as lies in the press that they burned stacks of newly-delivered newspapers in the street.

Think about all the "name games" in this one incident: Colorado, Columbine, Lafayette, Bell. And how about Serene? Serene is Latin serēnus for "of the sky, weather," "clear, unclouded," and even in one meaning, "a shining star."

Columbine is of Latin origin, and the meaning of Columbine is "dove." From Italian Columbina, a diminutive of ColumbaColumbine is also a literary character who appears in traditional Italian comedy Commedia dell'Arte and English pantomime as Harlequin's beloved ~ ah, the Joker.

Cosmic Jokers abound. The book Harlequin and Columbine is written by Booth Tarkington, one of the first members of the Fortean Society.

There was even a woman in red!

"Flaming Milka," Colorado's rebel girl wore bright red clothing, engaged in physical confrontations with men, and led hundreds of toughened miners in protests against murderous conditions in the coal fields.

A temporarily installed metal historical marker recalled the Columbine mine and the massacre on Highway Seven, one mile west of I-25, in Colorado, before it was replaced by a wooden one. The wooden one is decaying. Lest we forget.

The Aurora Mine in South Africa is not to be confused with the Aurora Mine (photo above) located at Lee Creek in Beaufort County, in what is today called Aurora, North Carolina. That is the largest integrated phosphate mining and chemical plant in the world. PotashCorp (a Saskatchewan, Canadian corporation) is the world’s largest fertilizer company by capacity. There is another mine named Aurora, one in Alberta, that is the the world's primary source of Ammolite gemstones and fossils.

Should we watch mines and locations with the name Aurora, even ones full of fertilizer, for awhile? To which one could say, in a moment of expressive awareness, a contemptuous acknowledgment of the obvious:

Weekend Watch: Theaters On Alert

Theaters are gearing up for the first month anniversary of the July 20th movie shooting. Today, there were bomb threats to 233 theaters in 35 states.

As you will recall, the Aurora mass shooting left 12 dead and 58 injured at a Century 16 theater in Colorado.

Sparks on the Horizon

The same chain was hit again. It was at a Century 14 theater at 8:40 p.m. on Tuesday night, August 14th, in Nevada, which found another moviegoer hurt in a shooting. But this time it occurred when a 56-year-old man shot himself in the buttocks during a showing of The Bourne Legacy.

Witnesses inside the theater told officers the gun fell from the man's pocket as he was adjusting himself in the seat. It fired when the revolver dropped to the floor, striking him.

No one else was hurt in the theater at 1250 Victorian Avenue, Sparks, Nevada.

“There was no panic in the theater as only five people heard the shot out of the approximate 30 people in attendance,” police said.

Nationwide Theater Alert

Then on Friday afternoon, August 17th, law enforcement authorities checked theaters in several states playing The Expendables 2. They were investigating several bomb threats made to a Georgia-based movie theater company. Callers identifying themselves as employees of a vendor used by Columbus-based Carmike Cinemas made the threats to theaters, Terrell Mayton, company spokesman, said Friday afternoon.

The threats were made in multiple states, but nothing suspicious was located, Mayton said. A threat was also phoned into the corporate office.

All of the threats concerned the action movie The Expendables 2, which opened Friday, Mayton said.

"We acted very quickly to make sure our patrons are safe," Mayton said by phone Friday afternoon.

Officers were dispatched to check Carmike theaters through the South. Carmike owns 233 theaters with 2,236 screens in 35 states. It the fourth largest theatre company in the United States. Carmike was founded when Carl L. Patrick, Sr. acquired Martin Theatres from Fuqua Industries in 1982. The theater name comes from a combination of Carl L. Patrick, Sr.'s two sons, Carl Jr. and Michael, hence Carmike.

Carmike theaters are largely positioned in rural or suburban areas with populations under 200,000. The company bills itself as "America's Hometown Theater."

Media outlets Friday reported police searching theaters in Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky and North Carolina. NBCChicago.com showed aerial video of law enforcement agencies setting up outside a theater in Morris, Illinois, southwest of Chicago.

Man Carrying Gun Arrested

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
, in a coincidence (?), reported a man carrying a gun and knives was arrested Thursday night, August 16th, at the Carmike 15 theater in Columbus, Georgia. Investigators said they do not believe the 23-year-old man is responsible for the bomb threats.

Joshua L. Vardeman, 23, who faces three misdemeanor charges, had purchased a ticket for a special screening of The Expendables 2 and tried to enter carrying a computer bag, police said.

Vardeman was stopped by an officer, who found a 9 mm automatic handgun and several bullets.

Investigators also searched Vardeman's car and home, but no explosive devices were found. Vardeman was released from jail at 5 a.m. after posting $1,076 bond, police said.

Not Batman, But Are Bats Expendable?

The Expendables 2, which opened Friday, stars Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Chuck Norris, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, Liam Hemsworth, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Bruce Willis, and Arnold Schwarzenegger. In this sequel, the mercenary group gets together for what they think is an easy paycheck, but when one of the crew is murdered on the job, the quest for revenge puts them deep into enemy territory.

of bats in Europe. Photo by Evgenidinev

Wikipedia reported,
On November 16, 2011, the production received a fine (of between $343–$3,440) from the Bulgarian environmental protection agency for unlawfully removing shrubs and small trees from the entrance of Devetashka Cave. Although permits had been obtained, allowing sets to be built in the area, including a bridge directly to the cave, environmentalists complained that filming may damage the cave, the habitat of approximately 40 endangered species. To avoid further problems, the producers agreed to not film explosions, car chases and fires near the cave. However, later that month Bulgarian environmentalists claimed that the bat population in the cave had been reduced by up to three quarters-from approximately 30,000 recorded in 2010 to 8,000 in 2011. Nikolay Simov of the Center for Bat Studies and Protection at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences blamed The Expendables 2's production for the reduction...On February 23, 2012, a Bulgarian court ruled that the crew had violated the law of their filming permit.

Kun Liu, a Chinese stuntman, was killed in Bulgaria on October 27, 2011, during the making of The Expendables 2. The stunt took place on the Ognyanovo Reservoir/Dam in the town of Elin Pelin, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The Sidereal Month

The first month anniversary is here, marking four weeks since the red dawn shooting in Colorado's Aurora. It happened on July 20th, early Friday morning.

August 17th is another Friday, another opening for new movies, and a New Moon. In between, the Sikh Temple shooting happened on a Sunday, August 5th, near the two week anniversary.

On August 10th, in "Religious Red Dawn?," I wrote, "Will August 19th (a Sunday) or August 20th (Monday, the calendar month anniversary since the Aurora red dawn event) be especially dangerous? The shooters' killing clocks work much differently than yours and mine. We need to be aware."

We do.

As I continued, on the 10th, "The conjunction of several threads are coming together when you begin to realize that many religious groups are holding their services in movie theaters during non-movie mornings."
Be alert. Be safe.

Predicting Aurora

by Loren Coleman ©2012

Two weeks ago today, on July 19th, I wrote we all should expect something dramatic and perhaps deadly linked to the release of The Dark Knight Rises. I said, more specifically:
Now that the date of the release of The Dark Knight Rises and this visual Bane is upon us, let's look at the fact the film is opening on July 20, 2012. 7.20.2012. 20.7.2012.
What are the significant memorable themes associated with past July 20ths? There are two major motifs that leap forth from history: space and assassinations. [Then I looked at the history of events associated with the date.]
***
Will any events take place on July 20, 2012, of any import?
Dates of movie releases have had strange links.
The day of neo-Nazi Breivik's massacre in Norway (July 22, 2011) was the day of the release of the film Captain America (July 22, 2011), with the first scene taking place in Norway, to the sound of Nazis' rapid fire machine gunning. A bizarre coincidence, to say the least.
I reviewed the dates of the other Dark Knight trilogy movies. Something was telling me that The Dark Knight Rises would be the focus of a violent event.

I'd been writing for a week of TDKR/Bane, and had penned items back in 2008-2009, on the violent wave of Joker copycats. The IMAX re-release of The Dark Knight on January 23, 2009, for example, took place on the exact date of the Joker copycat mass killings at the Belgium daycare (see Dendermonde Joker). My feeling was that an earthshaking event was going to occur on July 20, 2012.

When July 20th arrived, our wait for news was not long. It was soon after midnight, Mountain time, when we all learned that it was at a first release showing of The Dark Knight Rises that tragedy had struck. In Colorado's Aurora, literally, "red dawn," the new morning greeted all of us with the news of the mass shooting.

I have made predictions before. In 2005, on March 18th, I wrote "...a possible series of school shootings from March 20th through April 20th could occur...I hope not, but every indication is that the media is entering its first post-9/11 'shooting rampage' feeding frenzy, and as March nears its end, and into April, 'school shootings' could be next."

Again, we didn't have to wait long. On March 21, 2005, the so-called Red Lake massacre took place:
The Red Lake massacre was an incident of spree killing that occurred in two places on the Red Lake reservation in Red Lake, Minnesota, United States. The first murders began on the morning of March 21, 2005, when 16-year-old Jeffrey Weise killed his grandfather and his grandfather's girlfriend. He later drove his grandfather's police vehicle to Red Lake Senior High School, where he shot and killed seven people on the school campus, comprising five students, one teacher and an unarmed security guard, and wounded five others. The shooting ended when Weise committed suicide....[It is] the second deadliest massacre at a US high school, only behind the Columbine High School massacre.
Yes, Red Lake.

Then after seeing the Dawson College shooting of September 13, 2006, as a precursor for renewed mass shooting activity, I predicted the Bailey, Colorado shooting, which was then the immediate blueprint for the Amish school shooting that happened a week later. In 2006, the media began to mention my predictions. Stories in widely diverse outlets, such as Boing Boing and the CTV news, acknowledged my writings.

But there is no magic here. I observe and predict. As CTV put it: "While Coleman's email may now seem eerily prophetic, he told CTV.ca his prediction two weeks ago was simply the result of observing patterns among widely-publicized events."

In the Fall of 2006, I predicted a major school-related shooting would occur, with a "higher body count" during the week of the anniversary of the Columbine shooting in late April 2007. I reinforced this future insight, when in March 2007, I wrote that "deadly outbursts in school settings that are similar but radically more violent than in recent memory" would occur during that "red danger zone" on the calendar. Unfortunately, that prediction came true when the VA Tech massacre occurred at Blackburg, Virginia, on April 16, 2007, leaving 33 dead and 17 injured.

Please do not misread me. I am not delighted that my predictions come true. There is no glee in my tone but sorrow that the helpful and obvious predictive nature of this phenomenon is not used by others. Sometimes people only pay attention if there are results. If something can be validated and used by others, that's what this is all about to me. Ignoring the assistance that people can get from "reading" the indicators is unfortunate. Seeing school shootings, workplace killings or theater massacres occurring is tragic and sad. I'm the first one to feel that way, especially since I've had to deal with the aftermaths of such situation too often in my life and profession.

There are keys here. I have written about them so people will start paying attention.

Sometimes the cosmos then tries to reinforce the synchromystic signals by throwing images in our faces. After July 20th, the images of Aurora starting popping up everywhere, for everyone, including right in front of me on the highway!

In Portland, Maine.

At the beginning of the Skyfall (James Bond film) trailer shown before The Dark Knight Rises that I saw on July 20, 2012, at an IMAX.

In a Tin-Tin panel.

And tomorrow? August 3, 2012. The two-week mark of the Aurora shooting. What should we expect? I don't know. But what I have seen is a former pattern of a peak in copycats at the two-week anniversary.

I also notice that August 3rd is the release date of Total Recall, a dark, futuristic spy thriller. The lead character has the name Hauser. Hauser comes from the Middle High German hus "house," German Haus + the suffix – er, denoting someone who gives shelter or protection. Aurora has its Holmes. What does it mean that Total Recall has a Hauser, a home protecter? Perhaps nothing. But, then again, perhaps something positive?

Bane/Bain Bursts Bare (Part 3)

By Loren Coleman ©2012

Do synchronistic events reveal underlying patterns? Are there meaningful coincidences? Does acausal parallelism exist? There are no coincidences. Everything is a coincidence. What does the data show? What do you think?

"If there is an underlying oneness of all things, it does not matter where we begin, whether with stars, or laws of supply and demand, or frogs, or Napoleon Bonaparte. One measures a circle, beginning anywhere."
~ Charles Fort

At this Twilight Language blog on Sunday July 15, the topic was first broached, concerning Bane/Bain (Part 1), then followed again with more here (Part 2).

Soon, we all were awash in a sea of conjectures, speculations and spoofs as the news and near-news organizations burst bare with their fascination with Bane/Bain, from the likes of Rachel Maddow, Jon Stewart, Drudge, and Rush Limbaugh. It has been quite a week of many discussions about Bane/Bain.

The Masonic flag that went to the Moon.

Is there any more important incident, historically, for Earthlings than the simple fact this is the anniversary of humans landing on the Moon? In 1969, on July 20th, Apollo 11 made the first successful manned landing in the Sea of Tranquility on the Moon. Freemasons Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, complete with a Masonic flag, became the first humans to walk on the Moon. This is also the anniversary date in 1976 of Viking 1, an American craft, landing on Mars. To continue the space theme, Star Trek's Scottie, James Doohan (born 1920), died on July 20, 2005.

Assassinations have been associated with July 20th, as well. In 1944, Adolf Hitler survived an assassination attempt led by German Army Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg, known as Operation Valkyrie, at Wolfsschanze (Wolf's Lair or Wolf's Fort) in the Masurian woods, near Rastenburg, East Prussia, now Ketrzyn, Poland. In 1951, King Abdullah I of Jordan, a Freemason, who had worked directly with British hero and Freemason T. E. Lawrence of Arabia, was assassinated by a 21-year-old Palestinian, Mustafa Ashu, while attending Friday prayers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, Jerusalem. The mysterious death, some say assassination, of the American actor and martial artist Bruce Lee occurred on July 20, 1973. This is the date in 1977, on which the CIA released documents under the Freedom of Information Act revealing it had engaged in mind control experiments, under Project MK-Ultra (1953-1973).

Batman Begins was released on June 15, 2005 in the United States.

Spanish police, in a series of concurrent raids throughout Spain on June 15, 2005, arrested 17 alleged Islamic extremists; 11 were associated with Abu Musab al-Zarquawi, and 5 were connected to the Madrid train bombing of March 11, 2004.

The Dark Knight was released on July 18, 2008, in North America.

The largest mobile crane in the nation collapsed at a Houston, Texas, oil refinery on July 18, 2008, killing four workers and injuring six others in the latest of several fatal accidents that have raised concerns about the safety of construction cranes. Meanwhile, on this same date, another crane was in the news at the site of the former Twin Towers in New York City. The so-called "Survivors' Stairway" at the World Trade Center site was moved on July 18, 2008 down to bedrock within the foundations of the Memorial at Ground Zero.

What will happen on July 20, 2012?
